culture, social change and education
Culture is Idealistic and Materialistic: The tangible aspects of culture are replete in any society. These are also known as the physical human responses to environmental challenges (Bamisaye, 1991). Example of material aspects of culture includes our mode of dressing, the type of food that is unique or peculiar to a group of people. For instance, pounded yam is unique to the Ijesha people of south west Nigeria just as Pizza is to the Italians. The idealistic nature of culture is made up of our social attitude and values, proverbs and wise sayings among others.
