Accept A+ Program (Yes/No and if so, how much?): No. However, UMKC offers a scholarship to students who would be eligible to use A+ dollars to attend a community college. Accepts official ACT scores on high school transcript (Yes/No): Yes ACT minimum/GPA minimum: Freshman admission to UMKC is based on a combination of students completing 17 core classes, (4 English, 4 Math, 3 Social Sciences, 3 Sciences, 2 Foreign Language, 1 Fine Arts), ACT/SAT score, GPA and/or class rank. The minimum ACT is 16. The lowest GPA is 2.0 based on a 4.0 scale and only calculated in classes reflecting the 17 core curriculum. Students with an academic record near minimum requirements must present other factors indicating readiness for UMKC coursework. For example, a student with a 16 ACT will be considered if they show full completion of the core curriculum and a high GPA or class rank such as top 5%. Transfer students need to complete 24 credit hours and 2.0 GPA for most degree programs. Those with less than 24 credit hours will be evaluated on freshman requirements as well. Students who do not meet admission requirements are encouraged to apply as they may be admitted to the Coaching Program, an academic support program to aid in the student’s transition to UMKC.
