EMERGENCY FAMILY INFORMATION
Emergency information from each family is necessary for each child. If a child becomes ill or injured in school, parents will be contacted first. If the school is unable to contact the parents, the alternate persons on the emergency information sheet will be called. Please notify the school when changes in telephone numbers and alternate persons occur throughout the school year.

EMERGENCY DRILLS
State law requires every school to hold a minimum of 11 drills per year. We comply with the law and have recorded the date and time of each drill. For our 5 fire drills an alarm sounds. Everyone should exit the building according to instructions posted in each room and as given by the teacher. Everyone should walk silently and quickly to the appropriate exit. Students should keep in mind that the safety of others may be affected by their behavior and accept fire drills and emergency evacuation as serious and important.
In addition, we hold at least 5 lockdowns throughout the school year. Procedures are outlined in our crisis manual. A tornado drill is practiced within the State Guidelines in the month of April with a lockdown drill and evacuation to Crossroads Church.
EMERGENCY SCHOOL CLOSINGS
Once in a great while it is necessary to cancel school for a day or have a late start or early dismissal due to poor weather conditions. This information will be broadcast over local radio or TV.
You may call 651-982-8143 for school closing information or go online to the District website: http://flaschools.schoolwires.net/
All District families will also receive an automated call from the District Office.
Please ensure that your children are instructed as to what to do if the above-mentioned situation occurs.
EXCUSING STUDENTS FROM SCHOOL
Teachers are not allowed to release a child directly to any adult. Parents are requested to meet and sign out their children in the school office. If you are asked for identification before we allow a child to be released from school, please understand that this is done for the protection of your child.
