1. INDIVIDUAL TRAINING

a. Strategy (How individual skills will be sustained)

Unit Commanders will apply Military Intelligence unit training strategy/combined arms training strategy (MIUTS/CATS) to identify, manage, and program training requirements for CGS personnel. Exact training events and tasks to be trained are based on the METL, the trainers guide, Army training materials, and appropriate multi echelon-training plan. Unit Commanders, IAW guidance contained in the applicable commander’s manual, soldier’s manual, and mission training plan (MTP), will conduct unit level operator training. MATDEV developed lesson materials will be left at the gaining unit. These materials will be used to develop unit sustainment training programs.

2. COLLECTIVE TRAINING

a. Strategy (Type collective training, exercises, simulations, embedded training, crew drills, by which crews/unit will be trained to employ the system (Doctrine and tactics included) (See CATS training strategy). The commander, using MATDEV and TSP materials left at the gaining unit by NET, will conduct collective training. Crew training for CGS operators will be incorporated into unit FTXs and evaluated using unit mission evaluations.

Unit level maintenance training will be conducted by unit commanders IAW guidance contained in the applicable commander’s manual, and MTP. Intelligence Center extension training materials (ETM) will be available for the conduct of unit training. Individual proficiency will be evaluated through daily performance of maintenance activities.

2. COLLECTIVE TRAINING

a. Strategy (Type collective training, exercises, simulations, embedded training, crew drills, by which crews/unit will be trained to employ the system (Doctrine and tactics included) (See CATS training strategy). Utilization of extension training materials (ETM) to its maximum extent to train maintenance personnel in all facets of system maintenance. No specific changes in MOS 33W collective training strategy are necessary to incorporate CGS.
