Margaret Tolley Albert, 87, of Radford, passed away Thursday, May 8, 2003 at the Highland Ridge Nursing & Rehab Center. She was a member of the Radford Christian Church. Survivors include two sisters, Elsie Tolley White of Dublin and Pauline T. Shelton of Radford; several nephews and nieces; and several great nieces and great nephews. Funeral services will be held today, May 11, 2003 at 2 p.m. at the Mullins Funeral Home in Radford with Rev. Andrew Woodward officiating. Interment will follow in the West View Cemetery in Radford. The family received friends Saturday at the Mullins Funeral Home.

A member of the first Presbyterian Church and the DAR, she is survived by, in addition to her husband, two daughters, Mrs. Charles M. STERNS, Jr., Yorktown, Mrs. Todd OLSON, Prospect Heights, Ill., one son, Ralph M. ALEXANDER , Jr., Dixon, Ill., and nine grandchildren.

Virginia Helen Bond Alexander, age 81, of Pulaski, passed away Sunday, July 6, 2003 in the Pulaski Community Hospital. She was born in Wythe County August 20, 1922, daughter of the late George W. and Villa Lawson Bond. She was a member of the Church of God and taught Sunday school for many years and was preceded in death by her husband, Robert E. Alexander and a son, Tony Alexander. She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Eva and Phillip Morrison, Sherry and John Hagee all of Dublin; two grandchildren and spouse, Dee-Dee and Kris Norman of Pulaski, Jonathan Hagee of Dublin; step-granddaughter, Crystal and Rev. Chris White of Paris, Ill.; two step-great-grandchildren, Courtney White, J. C. White; two brothers, Lawrence and Judy Bond of Hillsville, LaHue Bond of Max Meadows; sister and brother-in-law; Berta and Carl Viars of Pulaski; a special aunt to many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 9, 2003 at 11 a.m. at the Dublin Church of God with the Rev. Michael Collins and the Rev. Daniel McGlothlin officiating. Interment will follow in the Memorial Christian Church Cemetery, Draper. The Body will be taken to the church where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday. Reese Funeral Home, Austinville, Va. is in charge of arrangements.

He was a member and elder of the Dublin Presbyterian Church and a member of American Legion Post #7, Pulaski. He served in the Army during WWi. He is survived by his wife Minnie KING ALEXANDER; one son Kenneth B. ALEXANDER,Jr., Dublin; three grandchildren. Funeral will be Friday at 11:00 a.m. from the Dublin Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Manson B. Tate officiating. Burial will be in Newbern Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials to the Arthritis Foundation or the Presbyterian Children's Home in Wytheville. Friends may call Thursday at Stevens Funeral Home Pulaski where the family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m.

A member of the First Presbyterian Church, he was a retired salesman-farmer.

ALEXANDER, William Lee, Sr., of Draper, died August 14, 2003 in Lewis Gale Hospital. He was born March 15, 1920 and was the son of the late Charles and Rebecca Alexander. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Vida L. Alexander; a son, Barry K. Alexander; six brothers, and two sisters. He was a member of the Draper Valley Pentecostal Holiness Church, Draper Valley. Walter E. ALLEN, 83, 530 Fairmont Ave., Bristol, died yesterday at 7 p.m. at Bristol Memorial Hospital. He was the father of Mrs. J. Lyle SMITH, Pulaski.

Survivors include his wife Beulah D. ALLEN; besides Mrs. SMITH, a daughter, Mrs. Addis L. SNODGRASS, Bristol; two grandsons, Allan A. SNODGRASS, Bristol and Dean Lyle SMITH, Pulaski.

Funeral service will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. from State Street Methodist Church, Bristol, with Dr. C. P. Hardin, officiating assisted by Eldon Moore. Burial will be Glenwood Cemetery, Bristol.

The deceased was the son of the late William E. ALLEN and Mary Awson ALLEN. He was a member of the State Street Methodist Church, superintendent of the Sunday school for 25 years, member of the board of stewards at time of his death, member of the board of trustees; past president of Rotary Club and secretary; traffic manager for the Appalachian Division of the Southern Railway prior to his retirement in 1947 and member at King Lodge, 641.

J. G. ALLEN died Wednesday at his home at Foster Falls, following an illness of one week from pneumonia. He is survived by his widow and five children any many relatives and friends. He had been a faithful member of the church for 11 years and a man highly esteemed by a great many of friends throughout the community in which he lived.

The body will remain at Strickler’s Funeral Home until one hour before the service.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Kilts Robertson Alley, three daughters, Mrs. Lewis Saunders, Mrs. William T. Manuel both of Pulaski, Mrs. Verlin Dean, Max Meadows; one son, Garnett Harrison Alley, Pulaski; 14 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; five sisters, Mrs. Margaret Anderson, Mrs. Lara Graveley, Mrs. Carrie Jones all of Pulaski; Mrs. W. W. Hilderbrand, Portsmouth, Va; Mrs. James Wright of Thomasville,__ C., ___a brother, C. P. Alley, P_____.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. today at the home of a daughter, Mrs. William T. Manuel on the Case Knife Road, conducted by the Rev. Daniel Ridpath. Burial will follow in the Highland Memory Gardens at Dublin.
The body was removed from Strickler’s Saturday afternoon to the Manuel home to remain until the hour of services.

William “Wayne” Allison, Jr., 47, of Pulaski, and formerly of Draper, died Friday June 13, 2003 in Pulaski Community Hospital. Born January 28, 1956 in Wytheville, Va. he is the son of Margaret Windle Allison and the late William Wayne “Booty” Allison, Sr. He was a member of Drapers Valley Presbyterian Church. Wayne was a graduate of Dublin High School, and later lived in northern Virginia where he attended the Virginia Glass Academy and became certified as a Glass Technician and an accomplished auto mechanic. And while doing so, he was employed by Koon’s Ford in Falls Church, Va. for several years. He later moved to Wythe Co. where he owned and operated a business for some time. Due to a problematic illness, he retired early and relocated back to his home to Pulaski. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by two brothers, James Randal “Randy” Allison and Keith Emmuel Allison; one sister, Cindy Elizabeth Allison; and grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. J.E. Windle of Draper, Va. and Mr. and Mrs. Anthony Wayne Allison from Wythe Co. He is survived by his mother, Margaret Windle Allison of Draper; one brother, Alan Ricardo “Ricky” Allison of Draper; a sister, Ms Alice A. Hensley of Dublin; a longtime companion, Beatrice Jane Quesenberry of Pulaski; a son and daughter, Travis Wayne and August Jane of Pulaski; also survived by several nieces and nephews along with a very good friend and cousin, Gary Akers of Pulaski. Funeral services will be held Monday June 16, 2003 at 4 p.m. at the Drapers Valley Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Ken Pearce, the Rev. Randal Lawrence, and the Rev. George Freeman officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 3 until 5 p.m. Sunday at Thomas M. Seagle & Sons Funeral Home. Francis Augustus Aldred, 67, of 1317 Greenbrier Ave, Northwood, died Sunday in a Roanoke hospital following a sudden illness.
Born in Quincy, Mass., Oct. 12, 1893, the son of the late Sydney and Isobel Ferguson Aldred, he was a retired Appalachian Power Company employe.
Mr. Aldred is survived by his wife, Mrs. Una Walker Aldred; one son, Francis K. Aldred, Lynchburg; five sisters, Mrs. Frank Johnson, Mrs. Allen Murrary, Mrs. Eric Dexter, Mrs. Loring Andrews and Miss Grace Aldred, all of Halifax, Canada.
Funeral service will be held Tuesday at 11 a. m. from Christ Episcopal Church, with the Rev. John R. Campbell officiating. Interment will follow in the Birchlawn Cemetery, Pearisburg.
The body will remain at Thomas M. Seagle & Sons Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held Sunday at 4 p.m. at Stevens Funeral Home with the Rev. P.H. Horner officiating. Burial will follow in Dublin Cemetery. The body is at Stevens.
