Take a Break at Le Normandises or in a Park

Before or after your visit to the cathedral, claim an outdoor table at Le Normandises across the street, and take a break, with a view of the cathedral. Order your choice of wine, beer or ice cream, and rest up for your visit to the Bayeux Tapestries. Or find a bench in a park near the cathedral and enjoy some of the treats you found at the Saturday Market. But plan to arrive at the Tapestry Museum by 4:30 pm, 5 pm at the latest.

Set off to Visit the Tapestry Museum by 4:30–5:00 PM

After you visit the cathedral, continue your walk-about:

When you turn along Allée des Augustines, in the direction of the Tapestry Museum, you are on a path that would take you back to the now familiar rue St. Jean (with a jog to the right on Place de Quebec, then to the left on Allée de L’Orangerie).

You will be stopping at the Tapestry Museum now. But lock this basic box-shaped route into your mind so you will know enough to make your way around town from now on. To rue Saint-Jean for shops and restaurants… Across the Aure River and down the stairs to the walkway along the river… Along rue Larcher to the cathedral… Down rue de Nesmond to Allée des Augustines for the Tapestry Museum
