Although the taxi may seem easier, it may be more fun to use the convenient Twisto Tram & Bus system for your ride into town. And it certainly will be much more economical. You will quickly get the hang of this convenient and efficient option, and should have no problems, since both the tram and the bus run regularly and use the same ticket.
If you opt for the Tram, walk out of the station to the first shelter—do not cross the tram tracks. Take either Tram A or B, leaving every 4 minutes. Purchase your Twisto tickets from the machine before boarding the tram. Remember to validate your ticket when you board the tram.
To save yourself money and effort, opt for the best pass for your situation. For two or more traveling together, purchase a 24-hour family ticket for €5.95. Then you’ll be set for the day. Do the same when you return to Caen in two days. For an individual, the 3-day pass saves money at €7.50 for three days of unlimited journeys.
If you elect to save time and effort, taxis are usually waiting outside the station. Just walk out the front door and spot a driver.
