Statement of Faith

  • We believe the Bible to be the inspired, the only infallible, authoritative Word of God.

  • We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

  • We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory.

  • We believe that for the salvation of lost and sinful people, regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential.

  • We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life.

  • We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; they that are saved unto the resurrection of life and they that are lost unto the resurrection of damnation.

  • We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ.

Our Guiding Values:

Historic and Creedal:

We honour, embrace, and remain rooted to the historic Christian creeds as reflected in both the Nicene and Apostle's creeds.

Priestly and Prophetic:

We value the role of the prophet who engages in a perpetual and creative struggle with social constructs that marginalize and exclude, and the priest who engages in liturgy, the ministry of sacraments, along with leadership and administration.

Relevant and Mystical:

We value the tension between the mystical work of the Spirit, the transcendent source of God's Word and the relevant, imminent implications of this work and this Word in our lives, personally, and in our world.

Evangelical and Liberal:

We value the tension created between Liberal and Evangelical Christianity. We accept and engage without denunciation all forms of knowledge and scholarship with gracious and humble spirits, while maintaining clear convictions regarding the deity of Christ, the authority of scripture, and God's redemptive plan for humankind.

Grace and Truth:

Accepting that we all are prone to both error and sin, we seek to look directly and unflinchingly upon the human condition with grace, art, humour and truthfulness.

The Abba Crisis Pregnancy Center Statement of Faith

We believe in one God (Deut. 5:7; 6:6). We believe HE has revealed himself as triune, that is one God yet 3 persons, Father, Son and Holy Spirit (Mt. 3:16, 17; Jn 14:26) He has spoken to us through the Scriptures, the inspired and infallible Word of God (II Tim 3:16)

We believe that Jesus is the Son of God and that He was fully human and fully God, that he is the express image of the invisible God. (Jn 3:16; Col 1:15)

We believe that Jesus was sinless, though tempted, He never yielded to temptation. (Heb. 4:15)

We believe that He overcame death and rose from the tomb on the third day and won the victory over death, hell and the grave.  No one can be saved by any other name that the name of Jesus.  ( Matt 28:1-7; Rev. 1:18; Acts 4:12)

We believe that salvation is a free gift of God, a precious gift paid for by the blood of His Son (Jn 3:16). Works are a result of salvation, not a means to salvation.  (Eph 2:8-9)

We believe that every believer is empowered and gifted by the Holy Spirit.  We believe in the gifts of the Spirit and the greatest evidence of all the gifts of the Spirit is love.  ( Eph. 5:18; I Cor. 13:12-13)

We believe that though Jesus came to save us from hell, death, and sickness, he also saved us to be salt and light (Matthew 5:13-14): to be our brother’s keeper (Lk 10:30-37): to be the image of God’s love to a dying world.  (I Jn 4:7-8; Gal 6)

We believe that Jesus Christ will physically return to earth. “Coming in the clouds of glory.”  (Matt. 24:27-30; I Thess. 3:13)  This time He will come to judge the world and avenge the honor of His Father, and the blood of all who died for the testimony of God.  ( Rev. 6:9, Lk 10:19:11-16)

We believe God has called us to be a voice for the voiceless, to stand in the gap for those oppressed by immoral law, the unborn.  (Isa. 58)

We believe that God has called us to raise our voices against injustice, not to bow to immoral law, but to stand firm on the law of our God.  (Dan. 3:6)

We believe that the unborn is a living human being from the moment of conception (Psalm 139:13-16; Isa. 49:15-16) a unique person known by God (Jer. 1:5)

We believe in God’s commandment that says “Thou shall not murder.”  We believe that abortion is the wrongful taking of an innocent human life and is not an alternative to unwanted pregnancy. (Deut. 5:17)

We believe all life is of great quality to God (Ex. 4:10-12) and that God assigns a time to be born and a time to die.  (Eccl 3:1-2).
