Founded in 1834, Tulane
University is a medium-sized, private research university located in the heart of Uptown New Orleans. Undergraduate students are accepted into an umbrella school, rather than individual undergraduate schools.
As a result, Tulane students have access to almost all of our 70+ majors and minors once they have been accepted and approximately 1/3 of students pursue a double or triple major (some even do so across completely different disciplines or undergraduate schools). Notably, Tulane is the only private research university that requires public service for graduation (read more about our Service Learning requirement here: http://tulane.edu/cps/students/grad-requirement.cfm). Academics and experiential learning are also well balanced by access to incredible New Orleans culture (our students go to food festivals,
concerts, Mardi Gras, etc. in their spare time!).
