- 3.3.3 Power requirements
| 3.2 Regulatory requirements (1) The electrical installation, panel, instrumentation and all associated equipment and wiring shall comply with the following standards and regulations where necessary • Electrical Equipment (Safety) Regulations 2016 • Supply of Machinery (safety) Regulations 2008 • BS IET Wiring Regulations 17 th Edition • BS EN Safety of machinery - Electrical equipment of machines • BS Code of Practice for Instrumentation in Process Control Systems Installation Design and Practice • BS EN Specification for low voltage switchgear and control gear assemblies. • IEC61508 Functional safety of electrical/electronic/programmable electronic safety related systems 3.3 Environmental requirements 3.3.1 Physical conditions (1) The hardware will be suitable for an office environment the permissible ambient conditions will be • Temperature range C to C • Relative humidity range 10% to 95% (2) The panel shall be equipped with a cooling fan if required. (2) All mechanical moving parts (driveshafts, internal operating parts of the valves c) must be guarded to prevent contact physical contact to IP or higher. 3.3.3 Power requirements (1) The test rig will be powered from a single phase 230 VAC electrical supply (50-60 Hz. (2) The electrical supply will be connected using a single standard (EN) 16 A industrial pole socket located on the panel. (3) The panel will have a single isolator switch that will electrically isolate the panel and all other electrically powered components of the test rig.
