Smart Box West EDD
Dustin Snyder, Matt Gregoire and Joe Keating
Our group has created a device to notify you when you mail has arrived. We believe a device like this needs to be created because it is a hassle to check your mail multiple times a day. A motion sensor will be attached to the inside of a mailbox and when mail crosses the path it will set off the sensor. The sensor will transmit a signal to a receiver in the home that will light up and beep for a preset amount of time.

Smart Disposal West EDD
Robert Schrader, Adam Spilsbury and JonEric Banach
Our group is creating a smart disposal box that will go under the sink. It will connect to the drain in the sink and also to the garbage disposal. The purpose of this invention is to prevent any metal objects from falling in the disposal and being destroyed. There will be a metal detector that will be secured in the box that when you are disposing, will be turned on which in turn prolong the life of the garbage disposal blades.

Magnetic Car Suspension West EDD
Michael Bueme, Justin Miceli and Eric Amico
The goal for our project was to create a concept for a vehicle suspension system that utilized magnets to adjust the comfort of the ride. We felt that such a system has a market in high performance and racing applications, more so than the typical consumer. However, the idea intrigued us all and we stuck with it. We realized early on that conventional magnets would not be strong enough and so we began looking at electromagnets. For the sake of simplicity and due to time we decided to utilize a basic MacPherson strut and add magnets to the system.
