STEP 3: To Validate/Confirm the Current Year’s National Results
After you have entered and marked all of your data as final, you may then proceed to validate and confirm it. This feature is designed to make it easy for you to spot potential mistakes. When you go through the electronic validation process, the current year’s data will be put through a series of validation tests to check for errors and inconsistencies, as compared to your results from the previous campaign year, and will provide you with a detailed report which indicates any and all ‘flagged’ items requiring your attention or confirmation. For example, if you left off a digit and the donor number you entered is radically different from the donors you reported for that location last year, NORT will flag this and suggest that you verify this information. You can change the data or not, as appropriate.

WARNING:
You should not undertake the validation process until you are certain that all of your results have all been inputted and are final, and Steps 1 and 2 are complete.
This means that the Final Campaign Results Menu should look like this:

If this is NOT the case, please abort the validation process and continue revising the data until the Status for both National Results and Healthpartners designations reads ‘Completed’ (i.e. all your departmental national results are marked as final and your Healthpartners designations balance with your National Results page).

Process for validating/confirming the Current Year’s National Results
Phase 1:

To proceed with the validation process, from the Final Campaign Results Menu, click.

If all departmental data has been indicated as final, your data (both your National Results page and your Healthpartners Designation page) will then be validated.
Any data that is indicated as needing attention will be “flagged.” An explanation for the ‘flag’ will appear under (see below for an example).

If you do not have any flagged items, you are finished with the validation process.
Phase 2:

If you have flagged items, you will have two choices. You may either modify the data associated with a flagged item (in order to rectify/clear the flag), or you may accept/validate flagged items.
For a list of common validation errors and how to proceed in each case, please see Appendix 2: Common Flags

  1. In order to modify the data associated with a flagged item, you will need to modify it from its source (i.e. either the National Results or HealthPartners page). For your convenience and easy referral as to what data needs attention, you may print the validation report by clicking or export the report to Excel by clicking. You may then use this report to cross-reference what changes need to be made throughout your National Results or HealthPartners Designations Forms. One by one, you can then modify the data associated with flagged items.

  1. If you wish to accept/validate flagged items (i.e. you believe no changes need to be made and you accept the data), click on the button associated with each flagged item. Once done, these flagged items will move to the ‘Validated Records’ list. The next time you validate, rather than re-appearing, these items can be reviewed by clicking on the next time you seek to do a validation process.

NOTE: If your National Results and HealthPartners designations pages do not match, you will be unable to accept/validate these flags. If you do attempt to validate them, they will return upon re-validation. You will be unable to complete the validation process until the data has been modified and these two pages match! (For detailed instructions on dealing with this flag, see Appendix 2: Common Flags)

Phase 3:

Once you have modified or validated/accepted all flagged items, please return to the validation page by returning to the Final Campaign Results Menu.’

If you have modified/validated all flagged items properly, your Final Campaign Results Menu should look like this (i.e all steps read ‘Completed’):

If not, and your Final Campaign Results Menu reads like any of the following (i.e. if any read ‘In Progress), then you must re-validate your data.

To re-validate your data, please return to the Final Campaign Results Menu and click on .

Doing so will re-validate your data and display any remaining flagged items. Only when you are clear of flagged items are you finished with the validation process.
Please continue this process until you are cleared of flagged items and your Final Campaign Results Menu reads like this:

If you have completed the validation process and your screen reads like the above, then Congratulations – your National Results and HealthPartners designations have now been validated, confirmed and submitted for final validation by the GCWCC national office. Please note, however, that you may be contacted by the GCWCC national office if there are any questions or concerns related to your finalized and verified National Results and HealthPartners designations pages.
If not, please return to the respective sections and revise all data.

If you still cannot find the error, please contact the GCWCC national office.

Section 4: VIEWING REPORTS
You may view the National GCWCC results from a previous year in (i) ‘report’ format, from the National Results Book, in (ii) ‘form’ format from the National Results Forms, or (iii) HealthPartners designations from previous years.
(i) To View a Report from a Previous Year’s National Results Book (Report Format)
To view a previous year’s national results, navigate to the Main Menu and click
Note: The current year’s results will not be available until all results are in and they have been released from the GCWCC national office.
Select the report that you would like to view.

Depending on the report that you chose, you will be prompted to select additional criteria. For example, you will be prompted to select the year or department that you would like to view.
Once you have made all of your selections, click
You will then be able to view the selected report type. For example, see below:
