During the Fall campaign, the National Office also gives departments/agencies access to NORT to capture unofficial “verbal” results. The national aspect of the GCWCC provides the opportunity to recognize and celebrate the total organization’s commitment to community across the country. Volunteers report on five items (number of employees; campaign goal (if available); number of donors; special event and donation dollars raised) and to update the data weekly from late September to early December. Local United Ways will also have access to monitor this “unofficial” results reporting from the departments and agencies. Section 1: About GCWCC National Online Reporting Tool (NORT)

Supporting Local United Ways in the requirement to report annual results
The GCWCC National Online Reporting Tool (NORT) was created in-house in 2009 by the GCWCC national staff at United Way Ottawa. The mission behind the creation of NORT is to make it easy and convenient for local United Way offices running GCWCC’s to electronically report their results and to streamline the work involved, thereby reducing the time required for the production of the GCWCC national reports.

NORT enables access to data live, online, and available immediately for viewing by the local United Way offices and the GCWCC national office. As well once you have entered your data, you will be able to click a button and the system will start a validation process to analyze your data for discrepancies or unusual amounts. For example, if you left off a digit and the donor number you entered is radically different from the donors you reported for that location last year, NORT will flag this and suggest that you verify this information.   You can change the data or not, as appropriate.

Data going back to 1999 has been loaded into NORT, so you will be able to view reports from previous years. NORT will also enable you to download your reports and save them as MS Word and PDF files, among others.
In what follows, as users of NORT, you will find information on how to use the system; from logging-in and recalling GCWCC National Book Results from previous years, to inputting and updating your year-end National Results and Healthpartners designations results and validating your data at the end of the campaign.
Supporting Departmental Verbal Results Reporting

During the Fall campaign, the National Office also gives departments/agencies access to NORT to capture unofficial “verbal” results. The national aspect of the GCWCC provides the opportunity to recognize and celebrate the total organization’s commitment to community across the country.
