POLICY The Residency program is governed locally by a Program Director and the Radiation Oncology Physics Residency Committee (ROPRC). PROCEDURE

POLICY

1. 
   The committee is chaired by the program director and includes one resident, one Radiation Oncologist, the manager of Treatment Preparation, one imaging physicist, two other members chosen from the active TBCC physics faculty and a regular faculty member of the Department of Physics and Astronomy, University of Calgary.
   

2. 
   Terms of Reference are appended.
   

3. 
   The committee selects replacements for committee members or additional members following discussion of the available candidates.
   

4. 
   The committee meets a minimum of twice per year. Course evaluations by the residents are presented and discussed at these meetings.
   

5. 
   Residents performance is also discussed along with curriculum related and organizational issues.
   

6. 
   Minutes from these meetings are posted on the network for the Medical Physics Department in the common drive (J:\MeetingMinutes\MedPhysResidencyCommMtg).
   

7. 
   The Program Committee is also responsible for confirming that a resident has satisfactorily met requirements for completion of the program.
   

1. 
   Continuously improve a comprehensive and integrated configuration of tutorials, seminars, practical experience and clinical projects for Radiation Oncology Physics Residents.
   

2. 
   Consider resource implications in the delivery of the program.
   

3. 
   Ensure the delivery of scheduled components of the program.
   

4. 
   Ensure compliance with University of Calgary regulations regarding the Post Ph.D. Diploma.
   

5. 
   Monitor resident performance.
   

6. 
   Obtain and evaluate feedback from residents and faculty on program content and delivery.
   

7. 
   Modify program configuration and content in response to feedback from all sources.
   

8. 
   Maintain CAMPEP accreditation for the program.

  To review minutes, agendas and all supporting documents prior to every meeting.

  To bring forward agenda items to the Chair.
  

• 
  To maintain confidentiality in regards to resident performance and faculty evaluations.
  

• 
  The Radiation Oncology Residency Committee reports to the Director of the Department of Medical Physics.
