"Phototype Illustrations of the Principal Buildings at the Fair Grounds, together with some General Views of the Great Northwest, Mountains, Big Trees and Rivers." In near fine condition with the covers very slightly faded near the cord, & with a bit of curl to the front cover fore corners. Scarce & highly collectable. The photo (2 1/2" x 3 1/8", corner clipped) is of Lindsay & a family in Idaho looking upon some wildflowers with a hand written caption under it & the owner's signature above it. The clipping (taped , not glued) on the verso is an obituary of Lindsay's widow. Another clipping, folded, is a eulogy of Lindsay, himself. This book was a textbook for 7th - 9th graders, but it was written & published in a time when that age group had meaty material to study, & this one is not only meaty, but engagingly written. Railroads, Gold seekers, Yellowstone, Johnson County War & Tom Horn, Indians, Missionaries, Ranching & Ranchers, etc..
