IB MYP Professional Development Plan

Ridgeview Charter School and Riverwood High School

The Professional Development plan for both schools consists of two parts:

Part 1 – New Employees

Any employee new to either school and who has not previous completed training in MYP would attend an internal Introduction to MYP course. This course will be taught by the MYP Coordinator or their designee and will be similar to Level 1 training available through IBO. This class will be listed with the Fulton County Professional Development Department and teachers who successfully completed the course will receive 1 PLU credit.

Part 2 – Existing Staff

Each school will include in their annual budget sufficient funds to provide for 6 staff to attend an IB provided Level 2 or 3 training session.

In addition, each school will include in their annual budget sufficient funds to provide for a minimum of 2 staff members to attend the IBNA annual conference. Staff at both schools will be encouraged to submit proposals for presentations to the annual conference. Staff members who present at the annual conference will have usual travel expenses paid by the school.
