Li Yu
Li Yu, male, was born in February 1965 in Changchun and of Han nationality. He obtained his bachelor’s degree, masterate and doctorate in the Department of Chemistry, Jilin University from 1982 to 1986, the Department of Environmental Sciences, Jilin University from 1994 to 1997, and the Department of Environmental Sciences, Jilin University from 1999 to 2002 respectively.He conducted post-doctoral research in the Department of Chemistry, Jilin University from 2002 to 2004. Professor Li worked as senior visiting scholar in Institute of Applied Ecology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Shenyang from April 2005 to December 2005, and conducted post-doctoral research in University of Regina, Canada from 2005 to 2006. He served as associate professor, professor, PhD student supervisor for the Department of Environmental Sciences, School of Environment and Resource of Jilin University from July 2001 to December 2004, January 2005 to August 2006, September 2005 to August 2006 respectively. Professor Li also acted as registered engineer on environmental impact assessment with recognition gained from the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security of the People’s Republic of China and the State Environmental Protection Administration since December 2006; member of the 2nd and 3rd experts committee for environmental impact assessment engineer qualification examination of the State Environmental Protection Administration, guest researcher of Chinese Academy of Forestry Sciences.Currently, Professor Li is professor and PhD student supervisor in Sino-Canada Resources and Environmental Research Academy, and Sino-Canada Institute for Energy, Environment and Sustainability Research, North China Electric Power University.
Professor Li has been dedicated to research and teaching in environmental engineering, with his research mainly directing at environmental pollution control chemistry, environmental pollutant morphological research, environmental monitoring method, environmental and planning evaluation, etc. He has published over 300 academic papers, 70-plus of which have been collected by SCI and 50-plus by EI. In addition, Professor Li published five academic monographs, obtained five national invention patents, and the Second Prize of Provincial and Ministerial Award for Science and Technology Progress once. Professor Li has tutored 13 doctoral candidates and more than 60 master students. Of undergraduate students tutored by Professor Li, two won the first prize and the third prize respectively for excellent undergraduate thesis in 2002. Of three postgraduate students directly or jointly tutored by Professor Li were awarded with Tang Auchin Scholarship for Postgraduates from 2002 to 2003 and from 2003 to 2004 for four person-times; many won awards of “Elite Cup” Postgraduate Student Achievement Competition as held by the postgraduate school; ten person-times were granted with national scholarships for postgraduate. Professor Li has been frequently recognized as Advanced Individual with Outstanding Science and Technology Contributions by the university, and conducted technical evaluation work on environmental impact reports of construction projects for more than thirty as entrusted by provincial environmental engineering evaluation center. Besides, Professor Li is also an expert reviewer for many core and SCI-covered journals.
On-going projects conducted by Professor Li including “Water Resource Protection and Planning in Jilin Province”, “Research on Division of Atmospheric Environment Functional Areas in Baotou City”. Professor Li mainly lectures on Quality Control Technology for Environmental Monitoring and Environmental Impact Evaluation Technologies.

Liu Jizhen
Liu Jizhen, male, was born in September 1951 in Lanxian County of Shanxi Province and of Han nationality. He obtained his master’s degree of engineering in September 1982 from North China Electric Power University, and now is professor, PhD student supervisor and president of North China Electric Power University. He also works concurrently as member of Science and Technology Department of the Ministry of Education, the Executive Director of Chinese Society of Electrical Engineering, Council Member of Chinese Association of Automation, Deputy Director of Automatic Control Committee of Chinese Society of Power Engineering, Chairman of Committee for Thermal Automation Standardization, and IEE Fellow.
Professor Liu is mainly engaged in control theory and control engineering and thermal power engineering.
His major research fields are control theory and application, large crew modeling and optimal control, measurement and control theory and technology, industrial process information system.
Major achievements: Professor Liu has conducted research and development of “thermal power plant level optimization control and management system” with independent proprietary intellectual property rights, and put the system in operation in China for the first time with significant social and economic benefits generated. Besides, the project conducted by him “Online Diagnosis and Optimization Control System for Thermal Power Plant Operation Performance” was conferred with the Second Prize of National Award for Science and Technology Progress in 2006.
Professor Liu has published four monographs and over 200 papers, of which, many were selected by SCI and EI. He has presided over many cooperative research projects of national, provincial and ministerial levels, and between universities and enterprises. Among them, one is of National 863 Program (2007AA04Z163), two are projects funded by National Natural Science Foundation of China (50776030, 50576022), two are projects funded by Doctoral Fund of Ministry of Education of China(20060079004,20020079007), and more than 10 projects are of large projects cooperated by universities and enterprises. Professor Li has been conferred with many awards including the Second Prize of National Award for Science and Technology Progress (Online Diagnosis and Optimization Control System for Thermal Power Plant Operation Performance), the Second Prize of National Teaching Achievement Award of Higher Education (Reform and Innovation  Practice for Student-oriented Talent Cultivation Mode), First Prize of China Electric Power Science and Technology Award (Online Diagnosis and Optimization Control System for Thermal Power Plant Operation Performance).

Liu Shi
Liu Shi, male, was born in September 1956 in Tianjin of Han nationality. After obtaining PhD degree through his study in University of Cambridge from 1989 to 1992, he proceeded his postdoctoral research and visiting scholar programs in UK from 1992 to 1997. He was selected into Hundred Talents Program by Chinese Academy of Sciences in 1997 and worked as researcher and PhD student supervisor in Engineering Thermal Physics Research Institution. In 2007, he joined in North China Electric Power University as professor and PhD student supervisor. He was head for the innovative team project of “Measure and Control System for Electric Combustion Process of Quick Fuse and Distributed Information”, found member of International Society for Industrial Process Tomography, Executive Director of Beijing Society for Thermal Physics and Energy Engineering, Council Member of Specialized Committee for Multiphase Flow of Chinese Society of Engineering Thermophysics, Standing Member of Specialized Committee for Multiphase Flow of Chinese Society for Measurement, member of editorial boards of Journal of Engineering Thermophysics and Combustion Science and Technology.
Till now, Professor Liu has presided and completed the following scientific research projects: (1) “Research on Multi-mechanism Imaging with Fuse Thermophysics Information” a key project funded by National Natural Science Foundation of China; (2) R&D on Turbulent Burner and Measurement Technique of Pulverized Coal Boiler Biomass Co-combustion under National 863 Program; (3) Research on Capacitance Tomography with Combustion Happened Inside Porous Media of Ultramicro Dimension funded by National Natural Science Foundation of China; (4) Research on Clean Coal Technology Combustion Diagnosis and Split-second Control under National 863 Program; (5) Research on Measurement of Real Time Capacitance Tomography for Circulating Fluidized Bed Two-phase Flow Solid Concentration Field funded by National Natural Science Foundation of China; (6) Research on Recognition of Capacitance Tomography of Pulsating Heat Pipes Flow Pattern and Heat Transfer Characteristics funded by National Natural Science Foundation of China; (7) Flame Detecting Method for Electricity-thermal Sense Information Fusion Imaging funded by National Natural Science Foundation of China; (8) ECT Measurement of Circulating Fluidized Bed funded by British Council of Culture.
Also, Professor Liu has taken charge of two major sub-missions: (1) Research on information fusion and multiphase flow for key natural science project of Multimodal Tomography Imaging Study; (2) Debris Flow Movement Mechanism and Sediment Transport Rule, a key research program under knowledge innovation projects conducted by Chinese Academy of Sciences.
Professor Liu has published more than two hundreds of papers and has been granted with three invention patents during recent five years. Up to now, Professor Liu has tutored 19 doctoral candidates and 23 master students.
Professor Liu’s major research orientations are as follows:

Liu Zongde
Liu Zongde, male, was born on May 8, 1963 in Changsha of Hunan Province and of Han nationality. He obtained the doctorate of science from Peking University in 1995 and now he is professor and PhD student supervisor at the School of Energy Power and Mechanical Engineering, North China Electric Power University, and Head of Institute for Micro-nano Surface Technology and New Materials. Professor Liu has achieved rich accomplishments in micro-nano surface technology, and power equipment failure prevention domains; and has won the Second Prize of the National Award for Science and Technology Progress once, one Award for Innovation by China International Industry Fair, one Second Prize and one Third Prize of ministry level each. Professor Liu was selected as Excellent Young Backbone Teacher of Beijing in 1997 and Beijing Pioneer in Economic and Technical Innovation in 2001, candidate for First Batch of New Century Ten Million Talents Project (as the first and second level of talents) in 2004, Beijing Advanced Worker in 2005, enjoyed the special government allowance. Professor Liu has published more than 100 papers, of which 90 have been collected by SCI and EI. With the identity of the first inventor, Professor Liu has applied for 29 invention patents, and 22 of which have been approved with due authorization. The 863 subject presided by Professor Liu was rated as excellent project. Professor Liu also works concurrently as Council Member of New Material Branch of China Industry-University-Research Institute Collaboration Association, Member of Condition Based Maintenance Expert Committee of National Generator Set Technology Collaboration Association, Member of Micro and Nano Fabrication Branch of Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society, Member of Wear-Resistant Material Academic Committee of the Chinese Society for Metals, Member of Calculation Explosion Mechanics Group of Explosion Mechanics Specialized Committee of Chinese Society of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics, Member of Editorial Board for Forging and Pressing Technology, and visiting professor in Turbulence and Complicated System National Key Laboratory of Peking University. Professor Liu has tutored 8 doctoral students and 10 master students.
Professor Liu has assumed many scientific research projects, of which, one is key project under National Sci-tech Support Plan, one is project funded by National Natural Science Foundation of China, one is project under Changjiang Scholar and Innovation Team Development Program of Ministry of Education, two are programs under Chinese Defense Advance Research Program of Science and Technology, 6 are programs for other categories. Professor Liu’s major research fields are micro-nano surface technology and power equipment failure prevention.

Liu Yibing
Liu Yibing, male, was born in July 1961. He was graduated from University of Hannover with a doctor’s degree in mechanical engineering in 1999, and now serves in North China Electric Power University as professor for School of Energy Power and Mechanical Engineering, and PhD student supervisor of power machinery and engineering discipline.
Professor Liu is mainly involved in research for mechanical equipment and system dynamics analysis, vibration measurement analysis and fault diagnosis. With power station mechanical equipment (such as equipments like steam turbine generator unit, auxiliary engine equipment, hydroelectric generating set, wind turbine generator for heat-engine plant and nuclear power plant ) as major research subject, Professor Liu has studied machinery dynamics features under complicated running conditions, running status detection and fault diagnosis technologies, developed status supervision and fault diagnosis system for significant equipment, to successfully improve the stability, reliability and security of running equipments.

Ma Shuangchen
Ma Shuangchen, male, was born in December 1968 in Dalian of Manchu nationality. He graduated from North China Electric Power University with a doctorate of engineering in thermal power engineering in April 2003. Now, he serves in North China Electric Power University as professor and PhD student supervisor for School of Environmental Science and Engineering. He is also senior member of Chinese Society of Electrical Engineering, member of American Chemical Society. Professor Ma went to University of Waterloo in Canada for visiting research during September 2007 to October 2008, and taught courses like Environmental Chemistry, Specialized English for Applied Chemistry, Membrane Separation Technique and Principle, Environmental Catalysis, High Temperature and High Pressure System Moisture Chemistry for undergraduate and postgraduate students.
During recent years, Professor Ma has presided over two projects funded by National Natural Science Foundation of China, two projects subsidized by provincial and municipal fund, and many horizontal scientific research projects. Professor Ma has published more than 100 academic papers, of which, 30-plus were collected by SCI, 40-plus by EI. Besides, he acts as peer view experts for many research funds as well as domestic and overseas journals alike.
His major research fields are control over gaseous pollutant of coal-fired flue gas and process simulation (including flue gas desulfuration, denitration, and carbon capture), air pollutant transmission mode, power plant high temperature and high pressure system water chemistry, etc.
Professor Ma has won one provincial award for teaching achievement, one provincial and ministerial award for science and technology progress, three provincial awards for science and technology project evaluation.

Pan Weiping
Pan Weiping, male, was born in September 1954 and now is doctor, professor, and head of ICSET of Western Kentucky University. In 2010 he was selected into Thousand Talent Program initiated by the Organization Department of the CPC Central Committee and joined in North China Electric Power University.
Professor Pan Weiping enjoyed a high reputation in advanced thermal analysis and test, pollutant discharge detection and control, clean coal combustion and other fields, Professor Pan assumed Chairman of North America Thermal Analysis Society in 2002 and took charge of 72 projects which were subsidized by government authorities like United States Department of Energy and Environment Agency, research institution and enterprises with a total investment of 17 million USD. Professor Pan has created more than 5 million direct benefits for the university by virtue of technical transformation or technical services.
After joining North China Electric Power University, Professor Pan has set about establishing flue gas pollutant supervision and control laboratory for coal-fired power plant, which now is equipped with a research team consisting of elites selected into Thousand Talents Program, 5 professors and associate professors and many PhD researchers. Professor Pan now is held responsible for numerous key projects funded by Ministry of Science and Technology and enterprise horizontal programs. Professor Pan has published more than 100 papers in first-grade periodicals of environmental science and analytical chemistry at home and abroad.

Rui Xiaoming
Rui Xiaoming, male, was born in September 1955 of Han nationality. He was graduated from the School of Mechanical Engineering and Automation of Northeastern University with master degree in 1981 and now serves in North China Electric Power University as head for Electromechanical Engineering Institute, professor for the School of Energy Power and Mechanical Engineering, PhD student supervisor for Power Machinery and Engineering discipline.
Professor Rui was awarded with special government allowance in 1994 and was recognized as star for scientific invention by UNESCO in 1997. He is senior member of Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society, member of Steering Committee for Machinery Majors in Colleges and Universities of China, editorial board member for Transaction of CSICE.
Professor Rui has presided over many key scientific research projects; obtained 5 national invention patents, 12 patents for utility models, awarded with one third prize of the national award for science and technology progress, three second prizes of ministerial award for science and technology progress. Professor Rui has published more than 60 papers in authoritative periodicals and significant international conferences, three monographs and text books.
Professor Rui is mainly engaged in teaching and scientific research for electrical equipment energy saving and optimization design, wind power technology and equipment. The scientific research project undertaken by him recently include: three lengthways research projects concerning wind power technology as funded by the Ministry of Education, Beijing Municipal Science & Technology Commission, National Natural Science Foundation of China, five scientific research projects regarding electric power equipment and security as funded by Huaneng Group, China Power Investment Group, China Southern Power Grid.

Sun Baomin
Sun Baomin, male, was born in 1959. He was graduated from Tsinghua University with a doctor’s degree of engineering in thermal engineering in 1994, and conducted post-doctoral research in Thermal Power Engineering Research Institute of Zhejiang University from June 1994 to June 1996. He is PhD student supervisor for thermal power engineering discipline and now serves in North China Electric Power University as head for Boiler Technology Research Institute of School of Energy Power and Mechanical Engineering and member for Combustion Branch of Chinese Society of Engineering Thermophysics.
He is mainly engaged in researches for the development and application of new type of combustor for power station boiler, thermal process of power station boiler, pollution control and computer application, computation of combustion process, computer supervision over combustion process, etc. During the Ninth Five-year Plan period, Professor Sun assumed the post of vice team leader for the project of Research and Application of Ultralow Load Clean and High-efficient Control and Operation Technology for Coal-fired Boiler, one project under National 863 Program; and undertook two sub-projects under the National 863 Program as principle. Professor Sun has successfully run many power station boiler combustor renovation projects and generated substantial benefits for cooperative enterprises. Of the more than 100 papers published by Professor Sun, more than 70 were collected by SCI and EI. Professor Sun has also granted with one national invention patent. He has tutored 10 doctoral students, 10 doctoral candidates, and more than 20 master students. Professor Sun is currently in charge of “Basic Research on V-type Pyrolysis Flame Compound SWNT” project funded by National Natural Science Foundation of China, “Basic Research on Dry Method Combined Removal for Fire Coal Contaminant” sub-project under National 973 Program funded by the Ministry of Science and Technology, and many other horizontal projects.

Tang Guiji
Tang Guiji, male, was born in October 1962 in Huangxian County of Shandong Province and of Han nationality. He was graduated from North China Electric Power University with a doctor’s degree of engineering in Thermal Power Engineering in March 1999. Now, he serves as professor, PhD student supervisor, Council Member for Chinese Society for Vibration Engineering, President of Hebei Province Society for Vibration Engineering, member of Teaching Guidance Committee for Mechanical Design, Manufacture and its Automation Specialty for all Colleges and Universities of China (initiated by the Ministry of Education) from 2006 to 2010.
Professor Tang is mainly engaged in secondary disciplines like power machinery and engineering, with major research interests focused on: 1. Power equipment monitoring, control and fault diagnosis 2. Security and economical operation for thermal equipment and rotating machinery
During recent years, Professor Tang has taught courses like noise control techniques of machinery, digital signal processing, modal analysis, vibration of turbine-generator set, vibration analysis and dynamic testing, advanced rotor dynamics, etc. Professor Tang has presided over 10 science and technology projects of various kinds, and most of them have been passed the technical appraisal and inspection held by the relevant departments. These projects are valuable in practical use, and have achieved good economic and social benefits. Particularly, several projects, i.e. “Simulation Experiment and Analysis on Response of Torsional Vibration of Dongfang 300MW Turbine Generator with Power Network Impact”, “Research and Development of ASP-based Innovation Support System” and “Analysis on the Strength of Steel Tie Rod Screw Thread Connection” etc., were granted with the provincial and ministerial award for science and technology progress. Professor Tang has published almost 40 academic papers at important academic conferences and in Chinese and foreign authoritative journals, over 20 of them were collected by SCI, EI, and ISTP. Under Tang’s supervision, the project “Detection System of Rotor Dynamic Balance” had won the third prize of national award for “Challenge Cup” National College Student Competition, and the first prize of Hebei Province.
Currently, Professor Tang is mainly engaged in teaching and research on testing and analysis of construction dynamic characteristic, vibration and noise control, status monitoring and fault diagnosis etc.

Wan Shuting
Wan Shuting, male, was born in December 1970 in Changzi County of Shanxi Province and of Han nationality. He is now doctor, professor and PhD student supervisor at the School of Energy, Power and Mechanical Engineering, North China Electric Power University. He was selected into Young Backbone Teacher Support Program of Innovative Talents Support Plan launched by the university. Concurrently he is a council member of the Research Society of Chinese Universities for Mechanical Measurement, senior member of Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society, and council member of Hebei Provincial Society of Vibration Engineering.
Major research interests: 1. study on structural design, operation and fault diagnosis technology of large electromechanical equipment, 2. study on wind power generation running characteristic and condition monitoring technology.
In virtue of his outstanding scientific research and teaching performance, Professor Wan has won three Third Prizes for Scientific and Technological Progress Award of Hebei Province, one Third Prize of Chinese Electric Power Science  Technology Award. His doctoral thesis titled “Research on Generator Winding and Eccentric Fault Cross Characteristic Analysis and Detection Method” was honored as excellent doctoral thesis in Hebei Province. He has been awarded as Advanced Individual for Science and Technology by North China Electric Power University successively in 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2008, 2010, and 2011. Of near 50 academic papers he has published as the first author, 3 has been collected by SCI, 1 is to be published by SCI periodical with official consent gained, and 33 were collected by EI. In addition, Professor Wan has published one academic monograph. He has been granted with two invention patents as the first author, three patents for utility models, and registered two software copyrights. He has presided over one project as the project leader funded by National Natural Science Foundation of China, one project founded by Hebei Provincial Natural Science Foundation and more than ten projects for related scientific research tasks. Besides, he has involved with more than 30 scientific research tasks as principal researcher. Now, he is review expert for National Natural Science Foundation of China, Beijing Natural Science Foundation, Technology Innovation Fund for Small and Medium-Sized Technology-based Enterprises (by the Ministry of Science and Technology), Hebei Provincial Science and Technology Awards, and manuscript reviewer for journals like Journal of Vibration Engineering, Vibration and Impact, Vibration Measurement and Diagnosis, Proceedings of the CSEE, Journal of Power System Automation.
The on-going projects under his research mainly include:
(1) Research on units shafting vibration mechanism and fault diagnosis of electric generator in the condition of interior mixed faults, funded by National Natural Science Foundation of China (51177046), 2012-2015
(2) Research on stator and rotor vibration characteristics of electric generator under the condition of interior mixed faults, funded by Hebei Provincial Natural Science Fund (E2011502024), 2011-2013
(3) Research on shafting crankle vibration characteristics of electric generator under the condition of interior mixed faults (09MG30), supported by the Fundamental Research Funds for the Central Universities.
(4) Research on cross characteristics of wind turbines failure and recognition of electromechanical mixed faults (12 MS101), supported by the Fundamental Research Funds for the Central Universities.
