Wang Chunbo
Wang Chunbo, male, was born in September 1973 in Tangshan of Hebei Province and of Han nationality. He is now professor and PhD student supervisor at the School of Energy, Power and Mechanical Engineering, North China Electric Power University. He has been to CETC-O in Canada as a visiting scholar during 2006 to 2007.
Professor Wang is mainly engaged in teaching and research in the field of thermal energy and power engineering. He has lectured courses like Principles of Boiler and Clean Coal Power Generation Technology for undergraduates and postgraduates. In the fields of clean coal combustion and contaminant control, biomass utilization technology, brown coal purification, Professor Wang as the project leader has undertaken two projects funded by National Natural Science Foundation of China, one project funded by National 863 Program, one key project of the Ministry of Education, and three provincial and ministerial research projects. Besides, Professor Wang has taken part in other two projects funded by National Natural Science Foundation of China, National Science and Technology Support Program, and some other projects. He also has presided over and participated in many horizontal scientific research projects.
In recognition of his prominent achievements in thermal power engineering, Professor Wang was awarded with the title of Nova of Science and Technology in Power Sector in 2004 and subsidized by the Program for New Century Excellent Talents in University of the Ministry of Education in 2008. He has published more than 80 academic papers in both domestic and overseas key journals, with 12 have been collected by SCI and 50 collected by EI, his papers have been quoted by others of SCI journals for more than 100 times in total. He was granted with two national invention patents, and co-published one monograph. At present, Professor Wang is a member of Special Committee of Boiler of Chinese Society of Power Engineering, specially engaged manuscript reviewer for Proceedings of CSEE, and manuscript reviewer for some international journals like Fuel, Energy & Fuel and CET.

Wang Songling
Wang Songling, male, was born in November 1954 and graduated from North China Institute of Electric Power with a bachelor’s degree of engineering in thermal energy and power engineering in 1982. He ever held positions as Office Director of the Teaching and Research Section for Thermal Energy and Power Engineering, Deputy Director of Power Engineering Department, Vice President of the School of Energy, Power and Mechanical Engineering, Director of Power Engineering Department in North China Electric Power University. Currently, he serves as secretary of general party branch, professor, and PhD student supervisor for Power Engineering Department of North China Electric Power University. He was awarded with the honor of Excellent Teacher of Hebei Province.
He is mainly engaged in research on safety and economic operation of thermal equipment and large rotating machinery, internal flow fluid mechanics, and fluid equipment, etc.
Over the years, Professor Wang has directed or completed more than 10 lengthways and horizontal scientific research projects, and awarded two Third Prizes of Chinese Electric Power Science  Technology Award. Professor Wang has published over 100 academic papers, with over 60 have been collected by domestic first-grade academic journals, SCI and EI. Professor Wang has obtained one invention patent, two patents for utility models. He takes charge of “Hydromechanics, pumps and fans”, which is one of the Excellent Courses of Hebei Province, and won one Second Prize of Teaching Achievements of Hebei Province. He has compiled two textbooks.
Currently, the on-going lengthways scientific research projects engaged by Professor Wang include: one project sponsored by the Doctoral Fund of Ministry of Education of China, one project subsidized by Hebei Provincial Nature Fund, one project subsidized by National Natural Science Foundation of China, and many horizontal research projects. Professor Wang is mainly committed to research on internal flow fluid mechanics and fluid equipment, fluid dynamics, and economic operation of thermal equipment.

Wang Xiangke
Wang Xiangke, male, was born on March 4, 1973. As a prominent researcher and PhD student supervisor, he was selected into the introduction of overseas outstanding talents supported by the Hundred Talents Program of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, winner of the National Natural Science Funds for Distinguished Young Scholars in 2012. After joining North China Electric Power University in 2014, Professor Wang helped the university to set up Environment and Chemical Engineering Department. Professor Wang earned his bachelor’s degree and doctorate from Lanzhou University from 1995 and 2000 respectively, and conducted postdoctoral research in France Nantes Subatech National Laboratory and continued his academic research under the subsidy of Humboldt Research Award in Germany Karlsurhe National Research Center during September 2000 to October 2003. Professor Wang is mainly engaged in research in the fields of “three wastes” treatment, the application of nano materials in nuclear waste treatment, the application of plasma technology, and environmental pollution detection and treatment. He has presided over and participated in numerous research projects as subsidized by the Hundred Talents Program of Chinese Academy of Science, Excellent Young Scientist Fund of National Natural Science Foundation of China, Fund for Key Projects, National 973 Program. Professor Wang has published more than 190 papers in SCI journals like Chem.Soc.Rev, Adv.Mater., Chem.Sci., ACS Nano, Geochim.Cosmochim.Acta, Environ.Sci.Technol., Chem.Commun., Chem.-Eur.J., Chem.-Asian J., J.Mater.Chem., Polym.Chem., Appl.Phys.Lett., J.Phys.Chem.B(C), Science China, and 8 reviews under invitation. His papers have been quoted and positively remarked for more than 6600 times, with H impact factor at 55. Besides, Professor Wang has written two chapters for two English monographs. Of 11 doctoral candidates tutored by Professor Wang, 4 were conferred with Special Awards by the President of Chinese Academy of Sciences, honors of Excellent Doctoral Thesis of Chinese Academy of Sciences and Anhui Provincial Excellent Doctoral Thesis; 6 were conferred with Excellent Awards by the President of Chinese Academy of Sciences; one was supported by Fund for Prominent Youth in Anhui Province. Professor Wang has been conferred with many awards and honors, including the 12th Youth Science and Technology Award of Anhui Province in 2010, the 9th Youth Science and Technology Innovation Excellent Award of Anhui Province in 2012, Person of 2012 by Scientific Chinese, Excellent Graduate Tutor of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Excellent Graduate Academic Advisor of the Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2009, 2010, 2012, 2013 and 2014, Pollyould Chu Excellent Graduate Tutor of the Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2009, etc. He was the winner for the First Prize of Anhui Province Natural Science Award in 2013. Among the name list for more than 3000 highly cited researchers as published by highlycited.com, one subsidiary of (SCI)ISI(ISI Web of Knowledge), Professor Wang is one of 13 Chinese scientists who were highly sited in two fields, namely Chinese environment and ecology field (one of the two scientists honored with such honor), and engineering field. In addition to being editorial board member for many international academic journals in 2010, Professor Wang also acts as visiting professor of Shizuoka University in Japan, adjunct professor of University for Science and Technology of China, chair professor of Suzhou University, and visiting professor of King Abdullah University of Science and Technology in Saudi Arabia.

Wang Xiaodong
Wang Xiaodong, male, was born in July 1973 and of Han nationality. He is now professor and PhD student supervisor at the School of Energy, Power and Mechanical Engineering, North China Electric Power University.
Professor Wang is mainly engaged in teaching and scientific research in the fields of new energy, thermal energy and power engineering, with his research interests including: semiconductor thermoelectricity generation and refrigeration, proton exchange membrane fuel battery, moisture dynamics and interfacial phenomenon, heat transfer mechanism of nano-porous thermal insulation material and modeling, rapid calculation of thermophysical property, micro/nano scale heat and mass transfer and multiphase flow, etc. Professor Wang has lectured on courses like Heat Conduction and Thermophysical Property Test, Introductory Theory of Thermophysical Property, Phase Change Heat Transfer for postgraduates. As project leader, Professor Wang has successively undertaken four projects funded by National Natural Science Foundation of China, one key subproject under Fundamental Research Program for National Defense (National Defense 973 Program), one subproject under National Key Fundamental Research and Development Program, one subproject under New Century Excellent Talent Program of the Ministry of Education, two key projects subsidized by Fund for Fundamental Scientific Research of Central Universities, one project under Fundamental Theory Research for National Defense Special Program. Besides, he is held responsible for one key subproject jointly cooperated by Tsinghua University and National Natural Science Foundation of China.
Professor Wang has published more than 240 papers in domestic and overseas academic journals and conferences, of which 200 were journal articles, over 90 have been collected by SCI, and over 140 have been collected by EI, his papers have been cited by others in the SCI for about 600 times. He ever awarded with the First Prize of the 7th Excellent Papers of Young Researchers of Beijing Association for Science and Technology in 2003, the First Prize of Excellent Doctoral Thesis of Tsinghua University in 2003, Excellent Postdoctoral Award of Tsinghua University in 2007, New Century Excellent Talent Program of the Ministry of Education in 2011, the First Prize of Natural Science of the Ministry of Education in 2012 (ranking the second) and Outstanding Young Scholar Award of Wu Zhonghua Fund in 2013. Wang Zhangqi

Wang Zhangqi, male, was born in 1964 and of Han nationality. He is professor and PhD student supervisor for Mechanical Engineering Department, North China Electric Power University. He was graduated from Xi'an Highway University with a bachelor’s degree of engineering in July 1985, with a master's degree of engineering from Northwest Institute of Telecommunication Engineering in February 1988, and with a doctor’s degree of engineering from North China Electric Power University in June 1997. Professor Wang has been to Civil Engineering Department of University of Manitoba in Canada from November 2006 to November 2007 as a visiting scholar. Concurrently, Professor Wang is also council member of China Construction Machinery Society, member of Hydraulic Transmission and Control Committee of China Construction Machinery Society, member of Teaching Steering Committee for Basic Mechanics of the Ministry of Education, member of editorial board for Chinese Journal of Construction Machinery.


Mainly research interests:
Professor Wang has been dedicated research on electric transmission line engineering and technology, with his research involving design, manufacture, construction, operating maintenance, and management of electric transmission line engineering. Research content in this field includes: modeling theory and method research based on multi-body dynamics theory, non-linear kinetic theory research for wire with wind load, seismic load, electromagnetic force load, thermal load, ice load; basic theory concerning the structural design of large steel pylons based on new material, new process and new technology; safety evaluation theory and method for electric transmission line under extreme weather conditions; electric transmission line safe operation and monitor technology based on information and sensor technology.
His research interests on wind power technology and equipment involving research in fundamental theory for new energy equipment. Research content in this field includes: modeling theory and method research for electromechanical device dynamics based on multi-body system dynamics theory, dynamics analysis theory and method for wind turbine tower, yaw system, blade, development of simulation platform which takes the dynamic characteristic of wind turbine system for grid connection into consideration; feasibility design theory for wind turbine blade based on random dynamics, optimizing theoretical system for blade life-cycle design to solve the negative affect brought to wind turbine life-circle in terms of randomness, unstable operational states of the composite material; optimized design for wind turbine generator, wind turbine structural components, computer aided styling, analysis of aeroelasticity; safe operation and monitoring technology for wind turbine system based on information and sensor technology.

Xia Yanqiu

Xia Yanqiu, male, was born in October 1964 in Heilongjiang Province and of Han nationality. After gained doctor’s degree from the School of Mechanical Engineering, Northeastern University in 1999, he conducted postdoctoral research at the National Key Laboratory for Solid Lubrication of Lanzhou Institute of Chemical Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences from 2000 to 2002. Later, he worked in Advanced Industrial Science and Technology in Japan from 2005 to 2007, and was supported by the Hundred Talents Program of Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2008. Now, he is professor at the School of Energy, Power and Mechanical Engineering, and PhD student supervisor at the Power Machinery and Engineering Department, North China Electric Power University.


Professor Xia is mainly engaged in research in the fields of fault monitoring and diagnosis of mechanical equipment, tribochemistry and lubrication technology, preparation and frictional wear of surface engineering material. In addition to one monograph, Professor Xia has published more than 120 papers, of which more than 100 have been collected by SCI and EI. He is also tutor for 12 doctoral candidates (7 of them have obtained their doctor’s degree) and reviewer for periodicals like Wear, Tribology International, Tribology Letters, Applied Surface Science, Lubrication Science, Tribology. Professor Xia has also presided over more than 10 national, provincial or ministerial and some other categories of scientific research projects. He has applied and granted with 20 national invention patents in total and conferred with two Third Prizes for Science and Technology Progress Award at provincial and municipal level.

Xiao Huining

Xiao Huining, male, was born in December 1959 and of Han nationality. He is a professor and PhD student supervisor at the School of Environmental Science and Engineering, North China Electric Power University, expert of National Thousand Talents Program, professor of Changjiang Scholar of the Ministry of Education, and professor for Chemical Engineering Department of University of New Brunswick in Canada. Professor Xiao earned his doctor’s degree from McMaster University in Canada in 1995 and worked as lecturer and PhD student supervisor in Institute of Science and Technology, University of Manchester in UK from 1996 to 2001.


Professor Xiao Huining is mainly engaged in research in the fields of synthesis of functional polymer and its application in natural fiber, environmentally-friend material and water purification treatment. His leading research achievements in functional high-molecular polymer with antibiosis biological activity, positive ion nanoparticles flocculation system, papermaking wastewater treatment and purification have gained high attention from the world.
Professor Xiao also serves as council member of SENTINEL NEC, project leader of SENTINEL NSERC Strategic Network, member of Assessment Committee for Material and Chemical Engineering Research Fund of NSERC.
Professor Xiao is a manuscript reviewer specially invited by more than 60 SCI journals, project reviewer for many scientific and technology foundations subsidized by Canada government, and member for many science and technology associations as well as international scientific and technical cooperation organizations. During recent years, Professor Xiao has published more than 250 papers in various domestic and overseas journals and at international conferences. Of them, more than 150 have been published in international journals covered by SCI. Professor Xiao also has applied more than ten patents.

Xu Hong

Xu Hong, male, was born in July 1959 and of Han nationality. He earned his doctor’s degree in machinery from University of Stuttgart in Germany in 1998. Now, he is professor and PhD student supervisor at the School of Energy, Power and Mechanical Engineering, North China Electric Power University. Concurrently, he is also a member of IEC/TC5, member of the National Technical Committee on Steam Turbine of Standardization, council member of Beijing Society for Electric Engineering, member of National Electric Power Security Expert Committee, member of Specialized Committee for Power Station Metal Material, etc.


Professor Xu is mainly engaged in research on the fields of clean coal power generation technology, high-temperature material characteristics and device safety.
As project leader, Professor Xu has presided over one key project and one general project funded by National Natural Science Foundation of China, several projects under National 863 Program, and many horizontal scientific projects for industrial circles and research institutes. He is winner of two Second Prizes for Science and Technology Progress at the provincial and ministerial level, and author of more than 70 papers published on academic journals.
Professor Xu accepts doctoral and master degree candidates of second disciplines in thermal power engineering, and power machinery and engineering.

Xu Jinliang
Xu Jinliang, male, was born in April 1966 in Anhui and of Han nationality. He is now professor and PhD student supervisor, and president at the School of Energy, Power and Mechanical Engineering, North China Electric Power University. He is also chief scientist for 973 Program of the Ministry of Science and Technology, and winner of the National Science Fund for Distinguished Youth Scholars. Professor Xu earned his doctor’s degree of engineering in thermal power engineering from Xi’an Jiaotong University in 1995, and conducted postdoctoral research in Tsinghua University from 1995 to 1997. He studied in USA from 1998 to 2002; he was selected into “One Hundred Talent Program” by the Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2002 and set up Micro Energy System Laboratory and was supported by the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars in 2008. He was transferred into North China Electric Power University in April 2009, now he is the Dean of School of Renewable Energy.
Currently, Professor Xu Jinliang is the Director of Beijing Key Laboratory of Low-grade Energy Multiphase Flow and Heat Transfer, editorial board member of international journals as The Open Thermodynamics Journal and Frontiers in Heat Pipes, associate editor of Alternative Energy, and standing editorial board member of domestic periodical of Microfabrication Technology, standing council member of China Energy Society, chief scientist of 973 Program of the Ministry of Science and Technology, member of Strategic Exert Panel for China’s 12th Five-year Plan in Engineering Thermophysics as subsidized by National Natural Science Foundation of China, member of Strategic Exert Panel for 863 Program under China’s 12th Five-year Plan in Renewable Energy as subsidized by the Ministry of Science and Technology, Vice Chairman of Beijing New Energy and Renewable Energy Technical Committee for Standardization, and member for many academic councils like National Key Laboratory of New Energy Power System, Plasma and Combustion Center of Institute of Mechanics of Chinese Academy of Sciences, National Key Laboratory of Vacuole Physics and Natural Circulation of Nuclear Power Institute of China, Key Laboratory of Renewable Energy and Natural Gas Hydrate of Chinese Academy of Sciences.
In recent years, Professor Xu has presided over one project as chief scientist for 973 Program of the Ministry of Science and Technology, projects subsidized by the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, key projects subsidized by National Natural Science Foundation of China, key international cooperative projects subsidized by National Natural Science Foundation of China, and many scientific research projects for Beijing City. Professor Xu has delivered 9 reports at the international conferences and frequently attended, as chairman, for both international academic conferences and sub-conferences. Professor Xu has published about 200 papers; more than 70 have been published in authoritative international journals. His papers have been cited by others for more than 700 times in total. And one of his papers which were collected by SCI has been cited by others for more than 190 times. He has been granted with more than 10 invention patents, 6 national and provincial awards for science and technology achievements, including one Third Prize of National Award for Science and Technology Progress, one First Prize for Achievements in Natural Science by the Ministry of Education, and two Second Prizes for Science and Technology Progress by State Education Commission.
The scientific team under the leadership of Professor Xu is equipped with excellent software and hardware facilities and known for its solid research capacity. With such high-end experimental devices like cutting-edge high-speed PIV device, computer simulation station, micro and nano scale flow, heat transfer optics visualization system, infrared thermal imager, high speed dynamic analyzer well in place, his team has already set up ORC thermal power generation experimental platform, organic working substance phase transformation experimental platform, heat exchanger performance test experimental platform, supercritical fluid heat transfer experimental platform, multi-scale capillary structure sintering and heat transfer property test experimental platform, high heating flux electronic device (such as high power LED) cooling experimental platform, etc. What’s more, the research team is supplemented with several professional machining equipments like lathe and milling machine, and one professional mechanic. Such well-furnished infrastructures have laid down a solid basis for the smooth progress of the scientific researches of the team.
This research team has established wide and close collaboration relations with many famed universities both at home and abroad like University of Missouri in USA, Royal Institute of Technology in Sweden, University of Liege, National University of Singapore, Nanyang Technological University in Singapore. Postgraduates tutored by the team are accessible to have chances to conduct short or long term cooperative researches in such overseas universities as required by the progress of the cooperative projects.
Professor Xu devotes himself to research on efficient thermal utilization of solar energy and geothermal energy and power generation technology, thermal power generation with low-grade energy like exhaust heat and technology of conversing heat into power; micro and nano scale flow and heat transfer, high efficient heat dissipation technology for high heat fluxes of electronic devices (such as high power LED), low carbon and energy-saving technologies for high energy-consuming industry, strengthened heat transfer for vapor-liquid two-phase flow, and key technologies for new heat interchanger.
