Column chart- methods of waste disposal There was need to investigate the methods of waste disposal within the study area to correlate this with government’s claim of indiscriminate dumping into drains and street corners within the city. Table 10 indicates that 62% of the total number of respondents across the 6 LCDAs confirmed that they drop off their waste at a specified area within their neighbourhood to be picked up
at a later date by Visionscape, the new waste collection company in Lagos. As at the time of gathering data, the new waste collection company was yet to
adopt an effective method of 38
39 residential waste collection across Lagos and this led to the development of mounting heaps of solid waste along road medians, street corners and edges of major roads as seen
