Note: <888> 10/10/04 Sunday 3:15 A.M.: I chatted with the Casa Marina desk in Key West, Florida http://www.casamarinakeywest.com/ at 1-305-296-3535, and I told them about the ghost that I used to see in the Casa Marina, when I lived there while it was under renovation back during the winter of 1978. The fellow was from Poland, and he told me had heard about the ghost. I then chatted with the British Embassy in Washington D.C. at 1-202-588-7800, and I told them about an unusual sighting at the Valley Road post office in Greenwich, Connecticut a week ago last Friday. I then called the U.S.A. Embassy in London at 44 02074999000 , and I told them about the same sighting. Since I try to respect visitors and residents privacy in this town, I can not relate the nature of the sighting. Of course lots of people look like prominent British citizen and others try to impersonate them, so I will let the British experts figure out the case. For British travelers, this page might be useful http://www.britainusa.com/functions/contact.asp . CIO
Note: <888> 10/10/04 Sunday 2:30 A.M.: I enjoyed dinner. After dinner, I ate the last of the dried papaya strips. CIO
Note: <888> 10/10/04 Sunday 2:00 A.M.: I refrigerated in a Rubbermaid container two of the boneless breasts of chicken that I bought. I took the other two, and I put them in a Pyrex pie dish, and I rubbed them in olive oil on both sides. I seasoned both sides with garlic power, Old Bay Seasoning, chicken and meat seasoning, ground black pepper, celery salt, basil, and Italian spices. I put Texas Best mesquite barbeque sauce on the bottom side of the chicken and Kraft Bulls Eye barbeque sauce on the top side. I am cooking them in the Farberware convection oven at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 35 minutes. I will eat one, and I will refrigerate the other. I am also steaming over medium high heat a half pound of inch long sliced asparagus for fifteen minutes in a Revere pot with lid with the steamer tray in the pot with an inch of water to hold the asparagus. I also rinsed in a metal bowl underneath hot water a cup of Carolina white rice, and I strained it in a metal strainer underneath hot water. I put it in the China Village rice cooker, and I added 14 ounces of water, two tablespoons of olive oil, and a teaspoon of sesame oil. I put the inner and outer lids on the China Village rice steamer, and I put it in the microwave oven on high for 11 minutes, and then I let it stand with the lids on it for five minutes. I will also eat half of the rice. I will refrigerate the other half in a Rubbermaid container, and I will eat it all with a glass of ice tea shortly. CIO
Note: <888> 10/10/04 Sunday 1:05 A.M.: I went downtown after the last message. I went by the Exxon gasoline station next to the Greenwich Library, and I bought $12 of premium unleaded gasoline for $2.439 a gallon for about 13 miles per gallon usage. I also bought a Double Dollars scratch card for a dollar, but I lost when I scratched it off, when I returned home. I then went downtown, and I walked the entire length of Greenwich Avenue including the train station area, and I sat out at various locations. I then drove down by the waterfront. I next went by the Food Emporium, and I bought a package of boneless breasts of chicken for $2.99 a pound for $5.95, 16 ounces of Driscoll's strawberries for $2, two half gallons of Tropicana Premium orange juice with 50% less calories for $2 each, fresh asparagus at $2.49 a pound for $2.51, a 20 ounce bag of America's Choice onion rings for $1.79 for $17.25 total.

End of Scott's Notes week of 10/09/04:
Note: <888> 10/09/04 Saturday 8:35 P.M.: I will now send out my weekly notes. CIO
Note: <888> 10/09/04 Saturday 8:20 P.M.: I chatted with two relatives. One relative down in Vero Beach, Florida http://www.tcpalm.com/tcp/press_journal just spent 10 hours cleaning the mold out of her refrigerator, and said it was pretty bad down there. The relative said none of the usual restaurants are open except one, and they are serving hurricane lunches and dinners. CIO
Note: <888> 10/09/04 Saturday 7:50 P.M.: I had a telephone call from a relative at 11 A.M.. I woke up at 4 P.M.. I had breakfast of oatmeal with half of a sliced banana, toast with strawberry jam, orange juice, vitamins, supplements, and coffee. I went outside, and I picked up my mail downstairs. I went back to bed until 7:30 P.M.. I restored the startup programs on my computer by running "msconfig" . I had made up a list of them when I originally unchecked them. CIO
Note: <888> 10/09/04 Saturday 3:10 A.M.: Instead of reading the Volvo manual, I watched some television. I ate two bowls of guacamole Doritos chips and three papaya strips with some iced tea. I will now shut down the computer, and I will go to bed soon. CIO
Note: <888> 10/09/04 Saturday 1:30 A.M.: I went out after the last message. I went downtown, and I walked the entire length of Greenwich Avenue including the railroad station area. I sat out at various locations. I drove down by the waterfront. I just now returned home, and I ate two dried papaya strips. I will start reading the Volvo manual again. CIO
Note: <888> 10/08/04 Friday 10:50 P.M.: I will now shut down the computer, and I will shower and clean up. I will then go out for some fresh air. CIO
Note: <888> 10/08/04 Friday 10:35 P.M.: I am microwaving a Maria Callender's 16 ounce country fried chicken dinner with gravy and mashed potatoes and corn on the cob, which I will eat soon with a glass of iced tea. CIO
Note: <888> 10/08/04 Friday 10:10 P.M.: I am listening and watching to the Presidential debate on television. After the last message, I sorted through my periodical literature, and I threw out most of the computer magazines that I do not have time to read along with some other periodical literature. I saved the weekly local newspapers to catch up with the local news. I did not fall asleep after the last message until about 6 A.M. I ate 10 Town House crackers with 1 inch by 1.5 inch by 1/8th inch slices of Kraft Monterey jack cheese. I also ate two dried papaya slices. I had a telephone call from a relative at 11 A.M. this morning. I was up at 5 P.M.. I had breakfast of oatmeal with half of a sliced banana, toast with strawberry jam, orange juice, vitamins, supplements, and coffee. I moved the brass coat rack from behind the far end of the blue sofa, and I put it against the wall in front of the bath towel rack in the bathroom. I left the hats on it, and I hung my burgundy bathrobe on it. I hung my long down filled Rainforest winter coat from a wooden coat hanger on the open bathroom door. I went outside, and I move my Volvo by the apartment entrance, and I unloaded the items in the rear cargo area of the Volvo, and I put them by the building entrance. I put the three pairs of jumper cables and the roof rack tie down straps underneath the cargo area in the storage area. I put the Volvo back in its usual storage area. I used my cart, and I brought the items up to my apartment. I put them underneath the mahogany end tables and underneath the maple side table. I cover the items underneath the maple side table with two blue and one gold towels, so they are not as conspicuous. My tool box and other tool items are underneath the mahogany end tables. According to the label on the tire cables, they will not fit on the Volvo. I guess I should get rid of them. The only item in the open part of the back cargo area is my collapsible cart, I use to haul items. Thus I do not have the extra weight in the rear end of the Volvo, so it should be more economical to drive. Now that I have the rear cargo area empty in the Volvo, I can use it for moving items that I might want to dispose of from the apartment or for groceries or other items and still have room for four to five passengers in the Volvo. Also it should be less wear and tear on the rear suspension system. I picked up my mail, and I received the second Volvo key with remote control opener, so I now have two full service keys with remote controls along with the Valet key. I am keeping the Valet key and the second key with the remote control opener in the apartment I did my house cleaning and watering the plants. CIO
Note: <888> 10/08/04 Friday 3:40 A.M.: I read half of the 1995 Volvo 850 Turbo station wagon owner's manual. I will now shut down the computer, and I will go to bed soon. CIO
Note: <888> 10/08/04 Friday 1:35 A.M.: I ate two dried papaya strips. I am still in the process of reading the Volvo manual. I will have to check to see if the fuel filter has been replaced or not which is due to be replaced at a 100,000 miles. Everything else looks like it probably has been done except for maybe cleaning the EGR system. I will have to check with my relatives the previous owners. I also found a change of ownership card, which I will fill out and mail in to Volvo. I also took from the left living room closet shelf the two empty suit cases, the empty flight bags, the bag with my sunscreen and beach towels, and the three 3.5 inch floppy disk cases, and I put them in the false ceiling in front of the French reproduction sitting chair. I took the four kitchen appliances, and I put them on the left living room closet shelf. I went outside briefly. I am thinking in the daytime of taking the items from the rear of the Volvo wagon and putting them on the floor underneath the tables in the living room in my apartment again. Although the living room would not look as neat, I would have 400 pounds less weight in the Volvo for better fuel economy, and the rear compartment area would be available for transporting larger items than could fit in the back seat of the Volvo. I have the original sales slip, and the Volvo when it was new 10 years ago was a $35,000 with tax value car, so I would like to treat it well and take care of it. I could always cover the items stored on the floor in the apartment to make it look neater. Basically with the rear area of the Volvo cleared, I would also be able to move some items out of the apartment like redundant computer equipment and maybe some other items. It would also be easier if I had to transport a party with luggage should the need ever arise. Possibly once I removed some of the other items from the apartment, I would be able to store the car items less conspicuously in the apartment. However, today after I sleep, I will be doing my usual house cleaning, so I will have to think about it some more. Now back to reading the Volvo manual. CIO
Note: <888> 10/07/04 Thursday 11:45 P.M.: I reheated the half of the 16 ounce box of Stop and Shop cooked vermicelli along with the half of a 26 ounce jar of Master Choice marinara sauce in microwave proof containers, and I put on a coating of grated parmesan cheese, and I ate it all with a glass of iced tea. I will start reading the 1995 Volvo 850 Turbo manual shortly. CIO
Note: <888> 10/07/04 Thursday 10:50 P.M.: I woke up this morning for a while, and I ate a bowl of triscuts and two dried papaya sticks. I finally woke up at 1 P.M.. I had breakfast of oatmeal with half of a sliced banana, toast with strawberry jam, orange juice, vitamins, supplements, and coffee. I cleaned up, and I made my 3 P.M. appointment. I then went by the Greenwich Hospital Thrift shop, and I bought a like new donated by the Greenwich Hospital Compaq V90 19 inch monitor for $20. Today it still sells new for considerably more. I next went by the ATM machine at Putnam Trust Bank of New York on Mason Street. I then went downtown, and I walked the entire length of Greenwich Avenue, and I sat out at various locations. During my walk, I picked up a prescription at CVS, and I also stopped by the Greenwich Hardware store. As I was completing my walk, I ran into another regular walker, and we walked back up Greenwich Avenue, and we toured the J. Crew shop where the old Greenwich Drug store use to be, although it looks the same, it is now a new building. We walked from the top of Greenwich Avenue east on East Putnam Avenue, and we took a break at the tables outside of Whole Foods. We then continued our walk to the parking lot on the east side of Christ Church by Old Church Road, and then we walked back and took a break at Whole Foods outdoor tables, and then we continued back down Greenwich Avenue to the senior and arts center where we parted company. I used the bathroom at the senior and arts center. I checked out the prices at Starbucks www.starbucks.com by the senior and arts center, and although they raised their more deluxe coffee prices to close to $3, one can still buy a basic cup of coffee there for $1.40 which is a pretty good deal for Greenwich Avenue considering they pay $50,000 a month to rent that location, and thus to sit inside in a comfortable atmosphere on Greenwich Avenue for $1.40 to $3 a cup of coffee is a reasonable bargain considering what the prices are at the other shops in the area. However, recently that location has not been busy. My theory is they operate the shop newly remodeled at a loss to advertise the brand name to the local investor community. I normally do not drink coffee or other beverages when I am out of my apartment, since I drink so much iced tea, I would frequently have to go to the bathroom more often, when there might not be a bathroom available. I next drove down by the waterfront, and the youngsters still have not gotten cold yet, so they are still hanging out down by the waterfront. I next went by the Greenwich Library, and I read the Greenwich Time. I then returned home, and I used my cart that I keep in the back of my Volvo wagon to carry up the Compaq V90 19 inch monitor. On the bedroom side table, I moved the 17 in monitor from the HP Vectra XU computer to the floor by the open bedroom door, and I then put a canvas bag with the Acer 484 4 meg laptop on top of that monitor, and I put the Rubbermaid hamper with the slacks that do not fit me on top of it, and then the Compaq laptop 486 with 8 megs of memory and its case on top of that. I moved the 19 inch Dell monitor from my living room Dell backup computer to the HP Vectra XU computer in the bedroom. I put the Compaq V90 19 inch monitor with the Dell backup computer, and I adjusted its settings. I then took the cart back down to the Volvo, and I put it in the rear area. I then brought up the 1995 Volvo 850 Turbo wagon monitor manual to try to read tonight instead of working on the computer. I also drank some iced tea. CIO

Note: <888> 10/07/04 Thursday 2:20 A.M.: I logged onto L.L. Bean www.llbean.com , and on the lower left side of the page, I clicked on Factory stores L.L.Bean: Factory Stores , and then on the top right of the Factory store page, I clicked on Online Bargains L.L.Bean: Sale , and I bought for $22.95 in extra large size in harvest yellow L.L.Bean: Trail Model Fleece Pullover and for $14.95 in blue and extra large L.L.Bean: Two-Layer Duofold® Underwear, Pants plus $6.95 shipping via Fedex for $44.85 total. Hopefully the purchases will help me be a little bit warmer this upcoming colder winter. CIO
Note: <888> 10/07/04 Thursday 1:25 A.M.: I put $25 on my Net2Phone www.net2phone.com account, so I now have $33.44 on the account. I can chat through the internet for 2 cents a minute in the United States, and use my Net2Phone card for a telephone to telephone call, it is 3.9 cents a minute. Also there is a PC2Phone rate of 4.9 cents a minute to the United Kingdom which is suppose to be an English speaking area of the world, if one wants to chat or even 4.9 cents a minutes to France, if one needs to practice their French or even 3.9 cents a minute to Australia. Alas, when I am on a night schedule here in America, there does not seem to be many people to talk to. Of course if two people have high speed internet connections, they can use Net2Phone to chat for free over the internet. CIO
Note: <888> 10/07/04 Thursday 1:05 A.M.: I checked the cables along my exterior walls to make sure they are not in contact with the electric radiators, so the cables do not melt when I have to turn the heat on. I tied one cable back up with a double looped broccoli rubber band, which I hang the rubber band from a OOK hook. CIO

Note: <888> 10/07/04 Thursday 12:25 A.M.: I made up a fresh batch of homemade hummus www.geocities.com/mikelscott/hummus.htm . I used two cloves of elephant garlic in the hummus. I made and ate my usual salad www.geocities.com/mikelscott/salad.htm . Instead of tuna fish, I use a tin of sardines that I chopped. For the cheddar cheese portion, I used Kraft www.kraft.com Monterey Jack cheese. I used all of the other regular ingredients. I ate the salad with a glass of iced tea. CIO
Note: <888> 10/06/04 Wednesday 10:50 P.M.: When I returned home, I also put $10 on my Mac Gray laundry card, and I now have $19.85 left on the card. I put out my four scarves, two knit caps, and my pair of brown leather gloves on the mahogany side table at the apartment entrance. I also hung my four pairs of cotton long underwear on the right hook at the bedroom entrance. Today before I left the apartment, I moved all of my summer shirts from the left center of the bedroom closet to the far left, and I put all of my winter shirts in the left center position. I have an ample supply of winter clothes. CIO
Note: <888> 10/06/04 Wednesday 10:30 P.M.: I showered and cleaned up. I chatted with a relative. On the Uniden Cordless telephone, one has to make sure when one puts it back in the cradle that one giggles it, so it makes contact and the green charging light comes on. I went out, and I mailed the Northeast Utilities electricity payment at the Valley Road post office. My monthly budget amount has been raised 6% from last year, but according to the broadcast media, it is suppose to be a colder winter. I next went by Val's liquor store at the Stop and Shop shopping center, and I bought a 10 ounce bottle of Angostura bitters for $8.79 plus .52 tax for $9.31 total. I noticed that wine prices have gone up a lot. I then went downtown, and the usual parking area I park at by the Board of Education is closed for pouring cement on the sidewalk at its entrance, so I parked on the other side of the board of education across from the post office. I walked the entire length of Greenwich Avenue including the train station area. I picked up two Greenwich and one New Haven line train schedules. I stopped by the Korean fruit and vegetable market just south of the post office, and I bought a package of dried papaya spears for $3.49 a pound for $3.18 and three Dole bananas for .56 for $3.74 total. I used the ATM machine at Putnam Trust Bank of New York on Greenwich Avenue. I went by CVS, and I bought two United States of America flag sets with wall stands for 90% off for $1.29 each and two RTH 7 piece coaster sets for .87 each plus .10 tax for $4.42 total. I then bought four 10 packs of black Scripto stick pens for .25 each package plus .06 tax for $1.06 total. During my walk I noticed that pedestrians are using the Porta Potty at the top of Greenwich Avenue that the sidewalk construction people have placed there. I completed my walk and sitting out for a while. I drove down by the waterfront. I then went by the Greenwich Library, and I chatted with another library volunteer. I returned home. I left the two U.S.A. flag sets in the back of my Volvo station wagon in the luggage area where I keep my mechanics tools and other car maintenance items. I put the two coaster sets on the Danish bar to have available. I put the pens with the spare laser printer paper underneath the living room desk on top of the box of spare computer cables. Yesterday I also put the tube of CPU to CPU cooling fan silicone grease in the left top desk drawer of the living room desk. I drank some iced tea. CIO
Note: <888> 10/06/04 Wednesday 4:25 P.M.: I went outside, and I chatted with a neighbor after breakfast. Norton Antivirus 2004 removed one Ad-aware virus file, and it did a complete scan without any other problems. I made up a check to pay my electricity bill to Northeast Utilities www.cl-p.com . I will now shut down the computer, and I will clean up, and I will go out. CIO
Note: <888> 10/06/04 Wednesday 2:40 P.M.: I just woke up. I will eat a breakfast of oatmeal with half of a sliced banana, toast with strawberry jam, orange juice, vitamins, supplements, and coffee. I will now do a full system scan with Norton Antivirus 2004. CIO

Note: <888> 10/06/04 Wednesday 3:00 A.M.: I went out after the last message. I walked the entire length of Greenwich Avenue and the train station area. I sat out at various locations. They are still repaving the sidewalks on Greenwich Avenue. I drove down by the waterfront. I went by the Shell gasoline station on West Putnam Avenue, and I checked the air in my tires for 32 pounds per square inch all around. The left front tire was down a couple of pounds. At the Shell gasoline station, I bought a Christmas Tree Ocean Breeze auto air freshner scent card for $1.39 plus .08 tax for $1.47 total. I put it in the glove box to have available. I just now returned home, and I drank some iced tea. Norton Speed Disk had finished running on the C: drive. CIO
Note: <888> 10/06/04 Wednesday 12:50 A.M.: I finished the backup of the C: drive to the D: drive with XP backup automated system recovery. I also backed up in one file all the files except the system and program files and in another backup the "My Documents" folder and in a third backup the music files. While doing the backups, I boiled a 16 ounce box of Stop and Shop vermicelli for six minutes. I ate half and refrigerated half. I reheated half of a 26 ounce jar of Master Choice Marinara sauce which I put on the vermicelli along with grated parmesan cheese. I ate it all with a glass of iced tea. I will now run Norton Speed Disk on the C: drive, and I will go out while doing it. CIO
Note: <888> 10/05/04 Tuesday 11:25 P.M.: I finished watching the Vice Presidential candidates debate. I installed Norton Internet Security 2004 and Norton System Works 2003 and the latest version of Live Update. I installed the Norton Live updates. One of the Live update WMI files still does not install, but all of the others did. I ran Norton Win Doctor and Ad-aware SE. I will now do a C: drive to D: drive backup with XP Backup Automated System Recovery after having moved the D: drive files to the C: drive to backup the entire C: drive to the empty D: drive. I will first run Disk Cleanup. I put the iced tea in the refrigerator. CIO
Note: <888> 10/05/04 Tuesday 9:40 P.M.: I put away the laundry. Hopefully the Norton WMI features will be installed that presently are not working. CIO
Note: <888> 10/05/04 Tuesday 9:10 P.M.: I clipped my finger nails and my toe nails. I showered and cleaned up. I am making up a fresh batch of www.geocities.com/mikelscott/icetea.htm . I have five minutes until the dry cycle is done on the laundry. I am watching the Vice Presidential candidates debate. CIO
Note: <888> 10/05/04 Tuesday 8:10 P.M.: I was up at 6 P.M. when I had a call. I had breakfast of oatmeal, toast with strawberry jam, orange juice, vitamins, supplements, and coffee. I went outside, and I picked up the mail downstairs. I have the Uniden cordless phone plugged in, and it seems to be charging. One has to make sure when one puts it in the cradle that the green light comes on for it to charge. Sometimes, the green light does not come on, if one puts it in the cradle wrong. I put clean linens on the bed in the bedroom. I am just about ready to start the dry cycle of two loads of laundry. CIO
Note: <888> 10/05/04 Tuesday 11:55 A.M.: Good news, I have the computer all fixed, except for some minor tweaking. Earlier, I ate 10 Town House crackers with ten 1.5 inch by 1 inch by 1/8th inch slices of Kraft Cracker Barrel sharp cheddar cheese with some iced tea. I then tried installing the VIA drivers from my motherboard CD, but it did not improve the system. I then returned the IDE PCI drivers to the XP non VIA drivers. I then copied the XP SP2 CD that Microsoft sent me to my D: drive. I then set the IDE 1 to PIO mode, and I installed XP SP2, which took a while, since PIO mode is slower. I tried to reboot, and the system would not reboot. I chatted with a friend. I then fiddled with the CMOS settings and the system would still not boot. I then opened up the CPU case, and I removed all of the cards except the PCI video card, and I had already set the CMOS to PCI video. The system booted. I restored some of my CMOS settings and rebooted. I then moved the case over to the dining room table to work on it. I removed the memory. I unmounted the CPU cooler. This permitted me to remove the C: drive. I then exchanged the C: drive from underneath the floppy drive, and I put it in the drive holder that hangs below the drive rack. I put the D: drive where the C: drive use to be. The drive holder below the floppy drive is a quick mount holder that does not work with my drives and there is only room for one screw to tighten it in. I was able to mount the C: drive with four screws, and it is in a cooler part of the case. My new Antec Cobra IDE 133 cable has enough length between the two end connectors to connect the two drives on IDE1. Before in the drive bay underneath the floppy drive, I had the C: drive upside down to permit it to connect with the existing cable length, and it was held in by only one screw. Now both drives are right side up, but the D: drive is only held in by one screw. My computer case does not permit access from one side. I then reconnected the cables. I put more CPU grease on my CPU cooler fan, and previously the CPU grease that came with the CPU cooler fan did not cover my CPU properly leaving part of it without CPU grease. I remounted the CPU cooler fan. I reinstalled the memory. I put back in the cards. I used my small computer vacuum to clean off some dust off the motherboard. I checked my cables for alignment and clearance. I then put the case cover back on, and I connected the CPU to the external cables except the USB cables. I then booted, and the computer booted properly. I then setup the dual monitor settings. I then connected my USB cables, and all the devices showed up in my hardware settings. I then tested the system with Norton Win Doctor 2003, and it did not freeze. I then installed the latest VIA drivers, so I now have the IDE PCI drivers with the latest VIA drivers instead of the XP defaults. I have the IDE settings at DMA. I then tested the system with Norton Win Doctor 2003, Microsoft Money 2002 compressing backup files, and Internet Security 2004 Firewall 2004 searching for internet enabled programs, and all of them worked with out any problems, when previously they did not. Thus the system is up and running as well as it has been running in quite a long time. I still can not get Norton Update to install the Internet Security 2004 WMI updates. I will have to look into that later. Well, I still have some system maintenance to do on the new install, but possibly moving the C: drive to another upright more secure position changed its performance, or more silicone grease on the CPU. Anyway the primary computer system is running much better. I will now shut down the computer. I will eat a peanut butter sandwich with some iced tea. I will then go to bed after being awake 25 hours. CIO
Note: <888> 10/05/04 Tuesday 5:05 A.M.: I changed the Via IDE and the Via PCI drivers to the generic Windows XP drivers. The system hopefully might be a bit more stable. I was able to get Microsoft Money 2002 to compress my Money backup file for storage on my pen driver by running the backup compress option with PIO mode on my C: drive. Norton Win Doctor 2003 still freezes the system, unless I run it with all put the first two options, then the 2nd option, and finally the first option. I ran the System File checker, and I have three print spool files that are not signed and the two NVIDIA files that are not signed from the latest version, but the earlier NVIDIA driver does not make a difference on my system. I did notice that in the "C:\Windows\System32" folder, I have two files "secupd.dat" and "secupd.sig" that are not digitally signed, and according to this page http://www.jsiinc.com/SUBR/tip8500/rh8521.htm they are part of Product Activation, and without them the Windows XP system would not boot. What has me curious is why they are not digitally signed, and when I ran System File checker about a month ago, they were not there, just the three printer spool files. It would seem someone has been tampering with my computer system's Windows XP Product Activation file for it not to be digitally signed. Note: <888> 10/05/04 Tuesday 2:10 A.M.: I reconnected the Uniden cordless telephone, and it seems to be working and not beeping anymore, but it still needs to charge up for 24 hours. My two General Electric and the Uniden Cordless telephones now all have new rechargeable batteries. Generally cordless telephone batteries last about two to three years. My Columbia 2.4 gigahertz cordless telephone is about two years old, but it still works fine. I think its battery is a special order item at Radio Shack. I will now test the computer system with some procedures to see if it freezes or not. CIO
Note: <888> 10/05/04 Tuesday 1:15 A.M.: I went out after the last message. I went by the Greenwich Library, and I watched it closed. For those of you whom are night owls, the Scott Library and York University in the northern suburbs of Toronto, Canada http://www.library.yorku.ca/ccm/Home/homepage.jsp use to be opened 24 hours a day 7 days a week except Christmas Day, but according to their web site, they now have regular hours, so I guess they can not get people to work at night in Canada either. I next went downtown, and I walked the entire length of Greenwich Avenue and the train station area, and I sat out at various locations. I used the bathroom at Starbucks, and the new remodeling job looks quite spacious and more festive. I next drove down by the waterfront. It seems like Long Island Sound is still there. I then went by the ATM machine at Putnam Trust Bank of New York on Mason Street. I then went by the Food Emporium http://www.thefoodemporium.com/ , and I bought two 12 ounce boxes of America's Choice fish cakes for $1.99 each box, a 4 ounce box of Bremner wafers for $1.99, two 28 ounce cans of Goya chick peas for $1.19 each, two 26 ounce jars of Newman's Own www.newmansown.com tomato and garlic sauce for .99 each jar, a 13 ounce bag of Doritos www.doritos.com guacamole chips for $2, a 5 ounce box of America's Choice thin chocolate covered thin mints for .99, four eight ounce bars of Kraft www.kraft.com cheese two Monterey Jack, one sharp cheddar, and one jalapeño for $1.99 each bar, and two 17 ounce bottles of Master Choice white wine vinegar for $1.14 each for $25.46 total. I then returned home, and I drank a cold Diet Coke www.coke.com in a frozen mug. I put away my purchases. I will mix the Monari balsamic vinegar and the white wine vinegar 50% - 50% in my plastic squeeze bottle to have available for use on salads. For the cheddar cheese portion, I used Kraft Cracker Barrel 2% low fat sharp cheddar cheese. I used all of the other regular ingredients. I had the salad with a glass of iced tea. Note: <888> 10/04/04 Monday 7:00 P.M.: I was up at 11:30 A.M. this morning. I had breakfast of oatmeal with a sliced half of a banana, toast with strawberry jam, orange juice, vitamins, supplements, and coffee. I went outside, and I picked up the mail. I showered and cleaned up. I went by the Wachovia Bank on Benedict Place, and I paid my rent to the Greenwich Housing Authority. I then went by the central Greenwich post office, and I obtained money orders at .90 each to pay my Verizon telephone bill, Cablevision, and Optimum online cable modem bills. I mailed them at the post office. I paid .75 parking meter fees downtown. I sat out for a while, and I used the bathroom at the senior and arts center. I then drove down by the waterfront. I then went by Radio Shack www.radioshack.com in Cos Cob, and I bought for my Uniden cordless spread spectrum cordless telephone a Radio Shack #23-964 cordless telephone nickel-cadmium rechargeable battery for $15.69 and for my General Electric 900 Mhz cordless telephone a Radio Shack #23-298 cordless telephone nickel-cadmium rechargeable battery for $11.49 plus $1.63 tax for $28.81 total. I brought the cordless telephones with me, and the sales clerk installed the new batteries in the cordless telephones. They have to charge up for 24 hours before they are fully charged. Now all four of my cordless telephones in the apartment should work. I then went by the Old Greenwich Mobil Express Car wash, and I had my Volvo washed for $5. I then went by Staples www.staples.com , and I bought two packages of 500 sheets of Staples laser paper for two packages for $7, a package of three Staples clamp binders for $5.99, and a Antec Cobra ATA-133 IDE round cable for $14.98 plus $1.68 tax for $29.65 total. I then drove back downtown, and I sat out for a while, and I used the bathroom at the Senior and Arts center. I then went by the Arnold Bread outlet, and I bought a loaf of fresh Arnold Healthy multigrain bread $2.27, a 5.5 ounce box of Arnold regular cut Seasoned croutons for .99 and a 5.5 ounce box of Arnold garlic and cheese regular cut croutons for .99 for $4.25 total. I then went by the VitaminShoppe www.vitaminshoppe.com , and I bought a 300 capsules of MSM 1000 for $32.57, 100 tablets of One Daily multivitamins with no iron for $12.97, 100 capsules of Deodorized Garlic 500 for $5.57, 100 tablets of C-500 complex for $5.17, and a 100 capsules of B-12 500 mcg for $5.17 less a $10 off coupon that I had for buying over $50 for a total of $51.45. I then returned home. I put the two cordless telephones in their cradles to charge up. I installed the Antec IDE 133 Cobra Cable in my primary computer. I chatted with a relative. The computer still freezes when compressing my Microsoft Money file, I will have to see if in other activity it freezes. Still with the new cable it seems more responsive. The new cable has a ground connector on the IDE cable that I connected to ground to the floppy drive screw to case. I now have about six months worth of Vitamins with the reserves that I already had. Note: <888> 10/04/04 Monday 1:35 A.M.: I took a four ounce can of sliced mushrooms, and I drained and rinsed the water out of it with the lid. I put a few tablespoons of olive oil and a pad of margerine in a small sauté pan, and I heated it over medium high electric heat, and I sautéed the mushrooms over medium to low heat stirring them regularly. I put about four 4.5 tablespoons of olive oil and two pads of margarine in my 10 inch omelet pan, and I heated it over medium high electric heat. I sliced seven 1 inch by 2 inch by 3/16 th inch slices of Kraft Cracker Barrel 2% low fat sharp cheddar cheese. I cracked three extra large eggs in a metal bowl, and I added about 1/8th of a cup of 2% low fat milk, and I whisked it all together with a metal whisk. Once the olive oil was heated in the omelet pan and the mushrooms were heated, I added the egg mixture to the omelet pan, and I lower the heat to medium to low. I let it cook, until it began to harden on top. I then flipped the omelet with a spatula, and I covered one half of it with the five slices of the cheese and about 75% of the mushrooms. I then folded the bare half over the covered half, and put it on a warm dinner plate. I put the remaining two slices of cheese on it and the remaining sautéed mushrooms and covered it with a medium to light covering grated parmesan cheese. While cooking the omelet, I also toasted one slice of bread, and I put two pads of margarine on it and spread it, and I cut the toast in half. I had it all for dinner with a glass of 2% low fat milk. I don't wash my omelet pan, but I just wipe it dry with a paper towel, so it does not stick in the future, and it gradually conditions the omelet pan. CIO
Note: <888> 10/04/04 Monday 12:55 A.M.: I went out after the last message. I went by the Stop and Shop, and I bought a 16 ounce bar of Stop and Shop Swiss cheese for $4.39, two half gallons of Tropicana Premium orange juice with calcium 50% less calories for $2 each, a 6 ounce container of Old Bay Seasoning for $2.99, a 10 ounce bag of Bachman pretzel rods for $1.69, two 3 liter containers of Botticelli olive oil for $7.99 each, two 16.5 ounce bottles of Monari balsamic vinegar $2.79 each, two Stop and Shop http://www.stopandshop.com/ 3 ounce containers of grated parmesan cheese for .99 each, two Stop and Shop 3 ounce containers of grated parmesan and Romano cheese for .99 each, a quart jar of Stop and Shop strawberry preserves for $2.99, a 16 ounce bag of baby carrots for $1.50, broccoli crowns at .79 a pound for .76, for $43.84 total. I then went downtown, and I walked the entire length of Greenwich Avenue and the train station area. I sat out at various locations. Starbucks www.starbucks.com looks like it is finished remodeling, and they look like they will be opened this morning. I also noticed that this Friday October 8 and Saturday October 9, the Presbyterian Church at the top of Greenwich Avenue is going to have a Tag Sale. I next drove down by the waterfront. I then returned home, and I used my folding cart to bring up my groceries, and I put them away. I drank some iced tea. CIO

The system still occasionally freezes, and all that I can think to do is order another IDE 100/133 dual connector round cable and see if that fixes the problem. I disabled all of my startup programs except the Norton Internet Security 2004 programs. I have the IDE 1 set at DMA. CIO
Note: <888> 10/03/04 Sunday 5:45 P.M.: I was up at 3 P.M.. I had breakfast of oatmeal, toast with strawberry jam, orange juice, vitamins, supplements, and coffee. I went outside, and I removed all the items from my Volvo in the rear compartment area. I used the AT&T CD lens cleaner, and I cleaned my Volvo CD player. I then put in six CDs, three Elvis and two Beatles CDs that I made up from their most popular songs and the Frank Sinatra Duets CD. The CD player plays perfectly. I put all the items back in the rear storage area the same way. I showered and cleaned up. I will now uninstall and reinstall Norton Internet Security 2004 and Norton System Works 2003. I will install the latest version of Live Update, and when I run the Norton Updates, I will run it from a safe boot with networking support, so the system should not freeze on the updates installation procedure. I will also set the IDE 1 driver to PIO mode for the process and then return it to DMA. This should take less than an hour. CIO
Note: <888> 10/03/04 Sunday 10:10 A.M.: I had problems installing the Norton programs, and I got system freezes. I uninstalled Windows XP SP2 and the other SP2 updates. The system seems a bit smoother and more stable with SP1, but I still get occasional freezes when trying to install programs. I installed the Norton's programs, but there was a problem, so I will have to uninstall and reinstall them again. I went outside briefly a few hours ago. I will now shut down the computer, and I will go to bed. CIO
Note: <888> 10/03/04 Sunday 3:10 A.M.: In uninstalling the Norton Programs, the system froze. I disconnected the computer case from the cables, and I opened it up. I replaced the long round primary IDE cable to the two hard drives, with the shorter primary IDE ribbon that came with the computer, and then I reconnected the computer. Well, that fixed the problem, which is the obvious solution, and the computer is no longer freezing. I will now reinstall the Norton programs. CIO

Note: <888> 10/02/04 Saturday 8:40 P.M.: After I shut down the computer this past morning, I put a new 3 volt Energizer lithium disk battery #2025 in the Remote Keyless entry device for my Volvo. I woke up briefly, and I ate six one inch by one inch by 1/8th inch slices of Swiss cheese on six Town House crackers and about a half dozen other Town House crackers. I had them with some iced tea. I was awake at noon today. I had breakfast of oatmeal, toast with strawberry preserves, orange juice, vitamins, supplements, and coffee. I went outside briefly, and I picked up my mail. I chatted with a relative. I showered and cleaned up. I went out, and I drove by Gateway Auto Supply at 154 Prospect Street, and I bought a container of Pennzoil http://www.pennzoil.com/ Fuel Injection cleaner for $2.99, a quart of Valvoline http://www.valvoline.com/ 10W40 oil for $2.25 and two Christmas Tree New Car scent cards for $1 each for $7.24 total. I put the quart of Valvoline 10W40 oil in the rear luggage compartment of my Volvo where it is easily obtained. I hung one of the scent cards on the hook by the driver's side rear seat window, and I put the other one unused in the glove box. I then drove down by the waterfront. I drove over to Old Greenwich, and I had my hair cut at Off Center barbers for $18 plus $5 tip for $23 total. They had the Old Greenwich, Connecticut fire house http://sbvfd.com/ open for the 100th anniversary celebration. I then drove out to Tod's Point, and I parked at the southwest parking area, and I chatted with two other regular waterfront observers. I then drove back to downtown Greenwich, and I sat out briefly. I set my two AM and two FM radio buttons on the Volvo. I then went by the Exxon gasoline station next to the Greenwich Library, and I put in the Pennzoil fuel injection cleaner in my fuel tank, and I bought $11.65 of premium gasoline at $2.399 a gallon for about 22 miles per gallon usage, most of which was highway driving. I then returned home. I had a message on my answering machine from a relative. I made and ate my usual salad www.geocities.com/mikelscott/salad.htm . I use a tin of sardines that I chopped instead of tuna fish, and for the cheddar cheese portion, I used Kraft Cracker Barrel 2% low fat sharp cheddar cheese. I used all of the other regular ingredients, and I had the salad with a glass of ice tea. CIO
Note: <888> 10/02/04 Saturday 3:40 A.M.: The previous mentioned note did not fix the problem. I will uninstall and reinstall Norton Internet Security 2004 and Norton System Works 2003 later on today when I have time. I need to be on a day time schedule part of the time earlier this coming week to pay my first of the month bills. I have been awake for 20 hours, so I will now shut down the computer, and I will go to bed. As it gets colder, I seem to have more time to spend on the computer, since I do not spend as much time outside. CIO

Note: <888> 10/02/04 Saturday 1:55 A.M.: I replaced a 40 watt bulb in the small wall lamp above my Minolta QMS PagePro 1250W laser printer with a new 40 watt bulb. Around May 2004, I ordered a 6000 sheet remanufactured toner cartridge for my Minolta laser printer for $72 from http://infinityimaging.com/ . Since the Minolta starter cartridge was good for 1250 pages, it just ran out at 1115 pages. I put in the new 6,000 sheet remanufactured cartridge, and it works just fine. I could not reset the counter by the method in the manual that I keep available on the chair to the left of the computer. However, this does not matter. I will leave it, so I have the entire life usage of the Minolta laser printer. I ran off a few test copies, and it is now at 1118 sheets produced. Thus it is all set to go, and I restocked it with fresh paper. Once I am sure it is all right, I will send back the old cartridge to Infinity in the new toner cartridge shipping box with the free UPS shipping label provided. CIO
End of Scott's Notes week of 10/02/04:
Note: <888> 10/02/04 Saturday 12:20 A.M.: I cut eight 1 inch by 1 inch by 1/8 inch pieces of Swiss cheese, and I put them on eight Town House crackers, and I ate them with a bit of iced tea. About a month ago, I bought a $50 set of tire cables for snow and ice traction for my previously owned Hyundai, and I paid $15 for them at the 70% off shelf at the Greenwich Hardware store, but I can not return them. I do not think they will fit on the tire profile I have on the Volvo, so I will have to figure out what to do with them. The Volvo I believe has front wheel drive, which is good traction on snow and ice if one has the proper tires with enough tread, which I do. It also has a roof rack, and I have tie down cables for the roof rack in the spare tire compartment, which is currently covered with stored items in the rear compartment. I need to rearrange the stored items, so the tool box is more available. Also I have to remember to put in six CDs in the CD player in the spare tire compartment. The spare tire is donut spare tire, and not a full size spare tire. I also have to study the owners manual and other information when I have time. Since I never listen to audio when I drive, since I find it distracting, and I like to keep my ears open for hearing, I probably will not be using the sound system much and like a lot of other things on the Volvo, I have to figure out how to use it all the devices and switches. I never smoke tobacco in my cars anymore, so I will continue to maintain the smoke free environment in the Volvo. I will now send out my weekly notes. CIO
Note: <888> 10/01/04 Friday 11:40 P.M.: I went outside, and I checked my tires on the Volvo. My Volvo has metal alloy wheels with low profile wide Yokohama AVID V4 2205 / 55R16 / 89V tires which on the internet discount tire sites are about $89 apiece. They have 5,000 to 10,000 miles wear left on them. They are similar to the Michelin www.michelin.com MXV4 tire which at Sears www.sears.com which currently has tires on sale, and various tires run from about $80 to $140 apiece on Sears web site, but I am not sure if they are the same low profile tires or not, but the numbers are similar. The Costco www.costco.com web site lists the particular tire size that I have for my particular 1995 Volvo 850 Turbo Wagon as 205/55R16 89V, Option 1 which run about $150 a tire for various Michelin tires, thus if in the future I want to keep the Metal Alloy wheels, with tax, mounting, speed balancing, at Costco I would be paying about $750 for a new set of tires. Of course people with fancy tires tend to be skinny, so I would not have to worry about eating anyway. At www.samsclub.com they are special order. Well anyway, at the rate I drive, my tires on the Volvo are good for another year, so I will wait until Christmas 2005 for new tires on the Volvo, and a lot can happen between now and then. I checked the oil underneath the hood today, and it was fine. The engine compartment is a bit dirty, and about 18 years ago, I had my Volkswagen Dasher station wagon engine steamed cleaned at the Exxon station across the street from me on West Putnam Avenue and the New York border for $20, so maybe some time in the future, I can have them steam clean the engine compartment. The Volvo has a moon roof and most of all of the accessories that came with that model. CIO
Note: <888> 10/01/04 Friday 10:25 P.M.: I installed the Microsoft IP 5.0 mouse driver to go with my Kensington Wireless mouse, which is similar to the Microsoft Wireless Wheel Mouse. The later version 5.2 of the IP driver does not support the Wireless Wheel Mouse. CIO
Note: <888> 10/01/04 Friday 9:55 P.M.: I finished my house cleaning and watering the plants. I chatted with a relative. I threw out the garbage. I called GEICO www.geico.com , and I let them know my Volvo title had been transferred to me, and the Volvo was registered in Connecticut in my name, and that I have a factory installed alarm in the Volvo. For $15 more a six month period, I also took out the coverage which provides up to $30 a day should I need a rental car, if I have a claim on the Volvo, and it is in the shop. I chatted with the GEICO representative about this area. CIO
Note: <888> 10/01/04 Friday 6:10 P.M.: I was up at 7 A.M. this morning. I had breakfast of oatmeal, toast with strawberry jam, orange juice, vitamins, supplements, and coffee. I showered and cleaned up. I went by Putnam Trust Bank of New York, and they notarized my Volvo title free as a courtesy to customers. I then drove up Glenville Road to King Street to the airport extension road to New King Street to I-684 East to I-84 East, and I took a break at the Connecticut welcome center rest area. I then took exit 5 and I followed the instructions DMV: Danbury Office to go to the Danbury, Connecticut Department of Motor Vehicles office, which I had to go to get a VIN ID on my car. The way is also marked by signs in Danbury. I got the forms from the receptionist. They did the VIN ID check. I filled out the form. I then received number 240 to wait in line when number 211 was being waited on. It took about an one hour and twenty minutes of waiting. The registrar gave me the tax exemption since the car was a gift from my sister. I paid a VEH XFR fee of $11, TSB Fee of $9, Title fee of $25, and the VIN ID inspection $10 for $55 total. I had my tools out in the car to transfer my existing Connecticut license plates from my Hyundai to the Volvo, so I took off the Pennsylvania plates, and I put on my Connecticut plates front and rear with the Mercedes Benz of Greenwich, Connecticut license plate frames. I then cleaned my hands in the DMV bathroom, and it all took about 2 hours. I was told that I could wait until I got home to transfer the plates, but since it was a nice day, I transferred them there. I returned back home via the same way. I stopped at the I-684 rest area in Armonk, New York, and I saw lots of retired people from Florida heading south. I then returned home. I sorted out my paper work, and I put the registration and the new GEICO insurance card that I received today in my Volvo glove box paper work holder. I went inside briefly. I used a scraper that I keep in my kitchen bureau, and I scraped off the Pennsylvania emissions stickers. I put my pink Greenwich, Connecticut beach vehicle identification ID sticker in the driver's side lower corner of the front window. I used scotch tape, and I put my Connecticut Bush Cheney 2004 sticker in the drivers side rear side window. I then drove over to the Valley Road post office, and I obtained at .90 cost a money order to pay my first of four installments on my GEICO automobile insurance six month policy. I mailed it there. I then returned home, and I microwaved a Maria Callender 14 ounce sliced turkey and stuffing dinner, which I ate with a glass of 2% low fat milk. I had two messages from a relative, and the relative just called back. I will now do my house cleaning and watering the plants. CIO

My father use to bank in the bank with the green dome, when it was called the First National Bank of Greenwich. I chatted with one of the officers. I used the bathroom at the senior and the arts center. I then drove down by the waterfront. I then went by the Greenwich Hospital Thrift Shop. I bought a multicolor golf umbrella for $3. I put the umbrella on the umbrella tray behind the rear seat in my Volvo station wagon. I then went by Putnam Trust Bank of New York on Mason Street. I used the bathroom downstairs by the vault. I did some other banking transactions like getting parking quarters for parking downtown. I then went back downtown, and I went by the Merry Go Round Mews thrift shop. They have a number of items there. I noticed a very nice worsted wool Dunhill black pin strip suit size 40L for $40. They have a fainting couch for $200, a pair of ornate Italian palazzo sitting chairs for $500 apiece. They took in a carved wood mirror which is not yet priced. I noticed for some reason, they had a HP LaserJet 6P printer like I have for a backup laser printer for $150. I think $25 would be more realistic, since one can buy new laser printers which are faster for $100. I then walked lower Greenwich Avenue, and I sat out briefly downtown. I returned home. I chatted with a neighbor. I picked up my mail. I received my automobile registration renewal, and I have to pay by mid January 2005 $75 for the registration and $10 for the emissions fee for $85 total. CIO

Note: <888> 11/29/04 Monday 1:35 P.M.: I picked up my mail downstairs. I put three teaspoons of olive oil and two pads of margarine in my 10 inch omelet pan, and I heated it over medium high electric heat, and once the fat began to bubble, I lowered it to a little lower than medium. I had already broken three eggs in a metal bowl, and I added a couple of tablespoons of milk, and I mixed it altogether with a whisk. I added the egg mixture to the omelet pan, and I let it heat until it was solid enough to flip over. I then flipped it over with a spatula. I then let it heat a little more until that side was cooked a little bit and it was puffy. I then slid it on to a microwave proof plate, and I added two large sliced plum tomatoes sliced into 3/16 inch thick slices and 4 triangle slices 3 inches at the base 5 inches high by 3/32th inch thick slices of Norwegian Jarlsberg cheese, and I seasoned it with Italian seasoning, and I put it all in the General Electric microwave oven with a microwave cover, and I heated it on reheat for half of the reheat time to melt the cheese and warm the tomatoes. I then slid the open face omelet on another plate and sprinkled it with grated parmesan cheese. I also added two slices of toast with two slices each of margarine, and I cut the toast in half. I ate it all with a glass of iced tea. I wipe the omelet pan with a paper towel after cooking, so it remains seasoned instead of washing it, which would wash off the seasoning. I then ate a piece of pecan pie, and I refrigerated the remaining pecan pie like the box suggested. CIO
Note: <888> 11/29/04 Monday 11:55 A.M.: I went out after the last message, and I saw our garbage truck removing the dumpster contents with the old computer items I threw away. I walked the entire length of Greenwich Avenue, and I sat out at various locations. I stopped by CVS during the walk. Solid white albacore tuna fish is on sale for .99 a can. I was told by a Greenwich town employee that Torrington, Connecticut TORRINGTON, CONNECTICUT is economically depressed, and people are living in buses up there. I suppose once one gets out of this area, the reality of the less prosperous New England economy becomes real. I noticed that in the window of the Korean grocery store the Greenwich Produce company just south of the Greenwich Post Office, there is a sign saying they are going out of business due to the poor economic conditions in this area. I next drove down by the waterfront, and the construction tent that blew into Steamboat Road yesterday has been removed from Greenwich Capital Markets www.gcm.com owned by the Royal Bank of Scotland www.rbs.co.uk . I next went by the Greenwich Hospital Thrift Shop. They still have lots of Christmas merchandise. One never knows what one will find there. I then went by the Greenwich Library, and the Greenwich Time www.greenwichtime.com was not available. I then went by the Arnold bread outlet, and I bought a Entenmann's 22 ounce Pecan pie for $1.79 and a loaf of Arnold Natural 100% whole wheat oat bread for $2.19 for $3.98 total. I then returned home. I drank some iced tea. I chatted with a relative. CIO
Note: <888> 11/29/04 Monday 6:40 A.M.: I put three quarts of water in a five quart Revere pot, and I added a teaspoon of olive oil, and a few dashes of salt. I brought it to a boil with the lid on it, and I put in a 16 ounce box of Stop and Shop vermicelli, and I boiled it for 6 minutes without the lid. While boiling the Vermicelli, I put a half of a 26 ounce jar of Newman's Own roasted garlic and tomato sauce in a microwave proof plastic pot, and I put the lid on it, and I heated it on the Reheat cycle. I drained the vermicelli in a colander, and I put half of it on a dinner plate, and I added the heated sauce, and I added a thin layer of grated parmesan cheese. I refrigerated the other half of the sauce in the jar and the other half of the vermicelli in a Rubbermaid container. I ate the meal with a glass of iced tea. I will now shut down the computer, and I will clean up, and I will go out. The current weather is Weather Underground: Greenwich, Connecticut Forecast . CIO

The buses use to leave from Park Avenue on the south side of Grand Central Terminal by the Phillip Morris building. I will then fly Delta Airlines flight #619 Boeing 757 departing 01/05/04 at 1 P.M. from La Guardia (LGA) and arriving at 3:37 P.M. at Atlanta Hartsfield Jackson International airport (ATL). I will then transfer to Delta Flight #469 McDonnell Douglas MD-80 Jet at 4:38 P.M. from Atlanta to Melbourne, Florida (MLB) arriving at 6:02 P.M.. I will be picked up at the airport by a relative for the short journey to Vero Beach, Florida. I will depart Melbourne, Florida at 8 A.M. on Delta flight #4519 Canadair Regional Jet 700 arriving at Atlanta at 9:29 A.M., and then I will transfer to Delta flight #512 McDonnell Douglas MD-80 jet leaving at 10:30 A.M. and arriving at New York La Guardia at 12:47 P.M.. I will return via the same transportation that I took from Greenwich to La Guardia. The fare on Delta from www.sidestep.com is $182. My relative booked me the fare, and all total it was $184.40. My relative is sending me the tickets. I next chatted with another relative. I then ate breakfast of oatmeal, toast with strawberry jam, orange juice, vitamins, supplements, and coffee. I went back to bed until 2:30 P.M.. CIO

Note: <888> 11/28/04 Sunday 10:00 A.M.: I chatted with a relative. I watched some television including the last 15 minutes of www.hourofpower.org which is on our local cable television system cable system on channel 45 from 8 A.M. to 9 A.M. on Sunday morning. I met Dr. Schuller about 18 years ago, when he was signing a books at the Stamford, Connecticut mall. I recall there were a lot of women there from the Dutch Reform Church in Rye, New York. Dr. Schuller's wife Arvella Schuller is on the board of trustees of Hope College www.hope.edu where my mother's family is from in Holland, Michigan. There are quite a few Dutch reform churches in Holland, Michigan. I recall my mother's family use to go the 3rd Dutch Reform church which was near my Grandmother Boven's home. I have seen Dr. Schuller's son Robert Schuller Junior in the Greenwich Library before, but whenever I see him, I think he is Brian Williams from N.B.C. since they look a bit the same, but I think Robert Schuller Junior is taller. CIO
Note: <888> 11/28/04 Sunday 8:10 A.M.: I went out after the last message. I went by the Exxon gasoline station next to the Greenwich Library, and I bought $7 of premium gasoline at $2.479 a gallon for 15.9 miles per gallon usage averaging driving 13 miles per hour around town. I then went downtown, and I started to walk Greenwich Avenue, but it started raining, and I cut short my walk after a half of block. It is too windy to use an umbrella. I drove down on Steamboat Road, and at about 7 A.M., the road is block by the steel pole frame construction tent with plastic on it that is about 100 feet long by 20 feet wide that was blown off of the front courtyard of Greenwich Capital Market www.gcm.com owned by the Royal Bank of Scotland www.rbs.co.uk . It is blocking most of the road, and the steel frame would easily weigh over more than several tons. The steel frame tent is being used to protect the brick repaving project in the courtyard of Greenwich Capital Markets. I did not see any police there, but I am sure they know since there is always security in the reception area of Greenwich Capital Markets. I then returned home. I came upstairs, and my sunglasses were missing, so I went back downstairs, and I found them in my car. I chatted with a neighbor. CIO
Note: <888> 11/28/04 Sunday 5:50 A.M.: I made and ate my usual salad www.geocities.com/mikelscott/salad.htm . Instead of tuna fish, I used two 3/8th inch thick slices of the Butterball boneless white turkey breast that I cut into half inch wide strips, about one to two inches long. I also used three artichoke hearts that I cut into quarters. For the cheddar cheese portion, I used Stop and Shop Swiss cheese. I used all of the other regular ingredients. I ate the salad with a glass of iced tea. I will now shut down the computer, and I will clean up, and I will go out. CIO
Note: <888> 11/28/04 Sunday 4:15 A.M.: I thought about it, and the French reproduction antique chair is a truly comfortable chair despite its skinny carved wooden arms, so I went outside, and I brought it back up to my apartment. I put it where it was before to the right of the long mahogany bureau in the living room at the hallway entrance. I put the white quilted slip cover back on it with the New Zealand sheep's skin on top of that and the small throw pillow that says, "With my Luck, When my Ship Comes in, I will be at the Airport." I moved the Uniden cordless telephone to the right open drawer of the living room desk drawer, and I took the generic corded white phone off, and I put it underneath the bedroom bed, since it did not seem to work. I move the small brass and marble lamp onto the small mahogany tea table. I put the two small brass and glass end tables in front of the DeLonghi oil filled radiator in front of the Danish bar, and I moved the large brass and glass coffee table further down against them. I put the third new office chair that I had where the French antique reproduction chair is, and I put it in between the two sofas at the sitting area entrance closer to the long green sofa, so there is about a two foot entrance space between it and the new sofa and in front of the brass and glass coffee table. Thus assuming three people to each sofa, and three office chairs, and the French chair, I have ten comfortable sitting places in my living room besides the computer swivel chair, and three dining room table bent oak chairs. If I ever turn on the DeLonghi oil filled radiators, I would have to move the items a bit around them. However, it all looks fine, and it is a comfortable setup. Thus the items that I got rid of cost me about $328.25. CIO
Note: <888> 11/28/04 Sunday 3:00 A.M.: I just checked outside, and the computer items are still in the dumpster. The two mahogany end tables have been retrieved, but the magazine rack and the French reproduction antique chair are still there. The French reproduction antique chair has thin carved wooden arms, and I clued the left arm back together when it broke, and its yellow brocade fabric is dirty. It is similar to the furniture that Richard Wheelwright use to make and was used by the United States State department. It is heavily upholstered with lots of springs and stuffing. Today new it would probably cost about $2,000. One can not lift it by the arms, or they might break again. One lifts it by the seat. It weighs about 60 pounds and is about 30 inches wide by 30 inches high by about 24 inches deep. It was obviously made for a large individual. CIO
Note: <888> 11/28/04 Sunday 2:35 A.M.: I went to bed after the last message. I had a telephone call from a friend at about 5 P.M.. I woke up at 10 P.M., and I ate breakfast of oatmeal, toast with strawberry jam, orange juice, vitamins, supplements, and coffee. I went back to bed until 1:30 A.M.. I took off three LAN cables from the bedroom hub, and I put them on top of the cable box underneath the living room desk. The two LAN cables not connected to the two bedroom computers, I coiled and secured them with wire ties, so they are available for use with laptops. The items that I threw out yesterday originally cost me $15 about 13 years ago for the French reproduction antique chair, $10 each recently for each of the mahogany end tables, $2.50 for the magazine rack, and the maple side table cost me $10 about a year ago at a tag sale, and I put about $10 of Stanley angle irons on it to reinforce the legs, and the American Academic Encyclopedia set cost about $5.75. The two old HP computers were free as was the keyboard drawer, and one of them had a $10 LAN card in it. The old AMD 233 MHz computer was about $230 seven years ago for the case, motherboard, memory, LAN card and CPU. Two of the Dell 17 inch monitors cost $10 at the Greenwich Hospital thrift shop, and the third Dell 17 inch Trinitron monitor was $20. Thus I threw out about $343.25 of items at my cost, when I purchased them. CIO
Note: <888> 11/27/04 Saturday 2:40 P.M.: I did one thing before going to bed. I took the bent oak chair out of the kitchen, and I put it to the right of my bedroom desk next to the bed. I then retrieved the small wooden chair from the dumpster which is more comfortable with its seat and back cushion, and I put it next to the stove in the kitchen to have a more comfortable smoking chair in the kitchen. The maple side table has already been retrieved from the dumpster area. I chatted with a relative. Now I will go to bed. CIO
Note: <888> 11/27/04 Saturday 1:30 P.M.: I will now shut down the computer, and I will go to bed soon. CIO
Note: <888> 11/27/04 Saturday 1:15 P.M.: I have been a bit busy. I went out after the last message, and I walked the entire length of Greenwich Avenue and the train station area. I sat out at various locations. I then drove by the lower parking garage train station dumpster, and there were three maple wood office chairs with purple upholstery in the dumpster. I put one in the back of my Volvo station, and then I drove down by the waterfront. I though about it, and I figured I could get the other two chairs in my Volvo station wagon if I put the rear seat down, so I put the rear seat down. I then returned to the dumpster, and I was able to get the other two chairs in the Volvo station wagon. I then returned home. I brought the chairs upstairs outside of my apartment outside in the hallway. Over the next four hours, I took out the French reproduction sitting chair with the mended arm, the maple side table, two mahogany end tables, the small wooden chair, the magazine rack, three Dell 17 inch monitors, and the two HP computers and the oldest AMD 233 MHz computer, and a computer keyboard drawer. I put the computer items in the dumpster, and I left the furniture besides the dumpster. I threw out in the dumpster the set of American Academic Encyclopedias which were missing the I volume. I also threw out all of my periodical literature. I slid my newer sofa back, so it is about 2.5 feet away from the closet doors and five feet away from the opposite sofa. I centered the brass and glass coffee table in between them. I put my two long folding beach chair and my directors chair in front of the stereo bookcase, and then I put one of the three office chairs in front of them. I put the oak folding tables at the bedroom door entrance. I put the two foot Christmas tree on the center of the brass and glass coffee table. I put another of the three office chairs where the French reproduction chair was to the right of the long mahogany bureau. I put the New Zealand sheep's skin throw over it. I put the third office chair perpendicular to the new sofa, so it faces the kitchen entrance at the apartment entrance. I put the mahogany tea table at the end of the new sofa next to the new office chair. I put the big button and the two cordless telephones and the answering machine on it. I put the remaining 19 inch monitor from the side table in the bedroom to the right side on the bedroom desk. I stored my automobile parts and accessories underneath the side table in the bedroom along with the computer mice and keyboards. I put the cables from the computer items that I threw away on top of the cable box underneath the living room desk. I put the small flags on the side table in the bedroom with 2.25 million watt rechargeable lantern. I reorganized the remaining bric-a-brac, so it makes some sense. I put the small brass and marble pedestal lamp on the near side small brass and glass end table. I put the wire CD rack in front of the Danish bar and the DeLonghi oil filled radiator in front of the Danish bar too. In one turns on the DeLonghi oil filled radiator, one should move the wire CD rack further away. I put my knit caps, scarves, and gloves on the right side of the side table in the bedroom. I used my small cart from the back of the Volvo for bringing down the computer items. I put the throws from the French reproduction chair in plastic bags in the false ceiling above the bed in the bedroom. The apartment living room now looks a lot more spacious, and the bedroom looks a bit less cluttered. In the future I still have to sift through some more items. I made a number of trips outside doing all of this. I picked up my mail. I am now keeping the new periodical material on the bookcase in the bathroom. I ate a piece of pumpkin pie with whipped cream and drank a glass of iced tea. CIO

Note: <888> 11/27/04 Saturday 4:10 A.M.: I cut a individual servings worth of broccoli crowns in smaller pieces, and I heated them in a microwave proof plastic pot with lid on the vegetable cycle of the General Electric microwave oven. I cut two 1/2 inch thick slices of the Butterball white meat boneless turkey breast, and I put them on a microwave proof dinner plate, and I added the remaining mushroom gravy and the remaining cooked rice and the remaining Stove top stuffing, and I put the plate with the food with a microwave lid on top of it in the microwave oven, and I heated it all on the Reheat cycle. I then put the hot plate on another plate. I strained the broccoli, and I put it in a bowl with a teaspoon of olive oil, and I ate it all with a glass of iced tea. Note: <888> 11/27/04 Saturday 2:25 A.M.: After the last message, I went outside, and I threw out some garbage. I chatted with a neighbor. I did my vacuuming. I ate a piece of pumpkin pie with whipped cream. I went to bed. At 10:30 A.M. a friend called up. I microwaved and ate a bag of ACT II microwave popcorn. I went back to bed. At 3 P.M. I chatted with a relative. I woke up at 8 P.M., and I ate breakfast of oatmeal with a sliced banana, toast with strawberry jam, orange juice, vitamins, supplements, and coffee. I chatted with a relative. I watched some television. I went back to bed until midnight. I started two loads of laundry, and I have 35 minutes to go on the dry cycle. I put clean linens on the bed in the bedroom. I only have the heat turned on in the living room. I generally do not turn the heat on in the bedroom unless it gets very cold. I am warm enough with my comforter on the bed, and when I get the electric blanket, I will be warmer. I do not turn on the heat in the bathroom. I keep a Lasko box fan going on low on the living room window shelf do blow heat out into the room instead of having it rise into the false ceiling with six feet of air space above it. I noticed when I removed the television cablevision wall plate to check its connections that there does seem to be insulation in the walls, but there are probably areas where it leaks. I have the air conditioner and the area around it insulated with styrofoam, and the one winter that I took it out, it was not any warmer or cheaper. Also we have single pane windows. We do have thick brick exterior walls, but a lot of the masonry is cracked, so the cold wind blows into the walls. However having lived here for the last 16 years, I am use to it. The first eight years, the electric heat was included in the rent, but for the last eight years, we have had to pay for the electric heat, so I keep it cooler. Also last January 2004, the www.cl-p.com electricity rate went up 12% and it is now going up another 17%. Of course I have low blood pressure, so when I go to bed, I tend to feel colder whatever the room temperature until I finally get enough sleep and wake up. CIO
