Meet and greet with local scientists who are experts in a variety of fields, including marine biology, climate and weather, software engineering, the brain, primatology, the ocean, and much more. Trained through the Museum’s Science Communication Fellows Program, these scientists developed exciting hands-on activities for visitors to discover what they do and why it is so important.

Join us for the opening reception of the exhibition This Light of Ours: Activist Photographers of the Civil Rights Movement, featuring two of the photographers whose work is part of the exhibition: Bob Adelman and Tamio Wakayama.

This Light of Ours: Activist Photographers of the Civil Rights Movement, an exhibition of the Center for Documentary Arts, presents the Civil Rights Movement through the work and voices of nine activist photographers – men and women who chose to document the national struggle against segregation and other forms of race-based disenfranchisement from within the movement. The exhibition is comprised of 157 black and white photographs taken in Mississippi and Alabama from 1963 to 1966.

The band is led by pedal steel guitarist Robert Randolph, who credits Stevie Ray Vaughan as the primary influence of his musical style. The latest Robert Randolph and the Family Band album, “Lickety Split,” was released in 2013. Most recently, the band’s “Take the Party” was selected as the theme song for SEC Nation, the college football pre-show program featuring Tim Tebow and Marcus Spears that airs on the SEC Network.

Celebrate going back to school by learning all about animals and zoo keeping. Children can complete activities to master all the necessary zoo keeper skills, earn grades for their zoo keeper report card, and graduate with an honorary degree - a B.H.Z in Zoo Keeping. Fun for the whole family with exhibitors, experts, and much more.

The family-friendly festival attracted 2,400 people last year. The event will feature three barbecue contests, local barbecue restaurant vendors, an outdoor music stage, classic car show, tailgate tradeshow, kids zone and more.

A fabulously fun international award-winning musical based on the adored movie, Legally Blonde The Musical, follows the transformation of Elle Woods as she tackles stereotypes, snobbery, and scandal in pursuit of her dreams. This action-packed musical explodes in a pink storm with memorable songs and dynamic dances.

The Chattooga County is in its second year of entertaining and educating north Georgia citizens. With a combination of carnival excitement, summer foods, concert thrills, and agricultural education, the Chattooga County Agricultural Fair is the perfect family trip this summer.

This exhibition brings to light the little-known relationship between Abraham Lincoln and Jewish Americans. Classic car enthusiasts will gather together again this year in Geneva, Illinois to view a beautiful collection of antique, classic and modern automobiles.
