Three-tier event forms the second annual Rhythm & Brews Festival. Initiating the schedule is an 8 p.m. Friday performance by BeauSoleil. A number of bands and musical selections grace the stage at City Park following Hail the Ale and seventh annual Brew 2 Shoe, a 10K/5K run.

Each summer the community pulls out all the stops in honor of its favorite daughter, complete with a downtown music, food and crafts fair, star-filled outdoor concert, children’s activities, carnival, awards and honors, Earhart research and literature, music on the beautiful Riverfront, aerobatic performances and the grandest of all finalés — the “Concert in the Sky” fireworks show.

The Louisiana Hot Sauce Expo's objective is to hold a regional event that promotes the Louisiana Hot Sauce Industry by encouraging the use of Hot Sauce in cooking via multiple cooking demonstrations and highlighting Hot Sauce manufacturers products lines by sampling opportunities to the public during the Expo.

The Art Barn is a juried Arts and Craft show and sell of regional artisan from across the south.

AKS Gem Shows is a bead & jewelry show open to the public featuring jewelry, beads, beading supplies, pearls, findings, classes, and more. Show hours are 10 till 6 Fri & Sat, 10 till 4 Sunday.

The Bar Harbor Music Festival Opera Theatre will present “La Cenerentola”, Rossini’s comic drama masterpiece at the newly renovated Criterion Theatre. Curtain time is 8:00 p.m. An event not to be missed, this is the only fully staged live opera production north of Portland this summer. This is a rare opportunity to hear some of the top young operatic talents in the country.
