Hickory's Oktoberfest is a three-day, outdoor festival held annually on the second weekend in October. It features four stages of non-stop live entertainment ranging from traditional polka to rock & roll, two beer gardens, amusement rides and carnival games, a juried arts and crafts show, and hundreds of food and commercial vendors.

Maggie Valley’s largest gathering of artisans and crafters come together to sell their handmade treasures. Get a head start on your holiday shopping. Artisans from all over the Southeast will be in attendance. Chainsaw art demonstrations and lots of festival food.

Friday - Campfire and Music Jam. Saturday - 5K Run, local artists, handmade craft, food, and heritage demonstrations. Music 11-5. The Cleverlys perform at 7:30 pm. Sunday -Free Gospel Singing - 2:30

You will discover a variety of art & crafts including pottery, jewelry, woodworking, watercolors, photography, fiber art, candles, quilts, and more. Numerous artists demonstrate their work throughout the day. Live entertainment from two stages features traditional mountain music, clogging, and Scottish pipes.

More to do and always great fun. The one-day festival has grown into the region’s premier juried arts and crafts event and celebration of all things apple. This year’s festival will feature exhibitors, live entertainment and great food.

Using music, anecdotes and images, Jordan and her media artist husband David will tell the story of the beginnings of organs in the colonies and its progress and impact through the late 1800. Stories of duels fought by organists, and travel by oxcart to deliver organs in the wilderness.

Throughout Friday & Saturday attendees will enjoy sampling Oklahoma Wines, live music, great food and shop all of our unique vendors. The Festival offers Cheese Tasting, and Merchants Cheese Tour. You are invited to help us choose the People's Choice Award. Sample our selection of all- Oklahoma wine, and choose your favorite.

The Pumpkin Regatta is a series of wacky races around the Lake of Tualatin Commons in 1000 lb. pumpkin boats by costumed participants. The event also features music, pie eating contests, kids pumpkin carving, pumpkin golf, pumpkin bowling, a kids costume contest, clown shows, hot food and drinks, and more.

Join us the 2nd Saturday of each month through October for wine tasting at our beautiful Vineyard Estate. Bring a picnic and enjoy the view.

The Alburtis Lockridge Historical Society is pleased to announce our 2015 Paranormal Program featuring Ghost Hunters Inc on October 31st at 9:30 pm. Join us for an evening of paranormal lecture of local haunts on Halloween night, October 31st at 9:30 pm. We will welcome once again, Ghost Hunters Inc. for the evening lecture. This will be just a lecture and presentation, NO ghost hunting or investigations will occur this evening.

Old homes have tales to tell. So do the objects in them. This workshop explores the craft of fiction writing. By examining antique objects, we'll create stories about people and how valued possessions reflect and reveal their lives. No prior writing experience necessary. Reservations are required.

The acclaimed Jack-O-Lantern Spectacular, presented by Citizens Bank, returns to Roger Williams Park Zoo October 1 – November 1. This breathtaking display of thousands of illuminated jack-o-lanterns features over 125 of the gourds carved into veritable works of art. The Providence Journal called it “Disney-quality” and visitors praise it as “Autumnal bliss” and “The best fall experience.”

Visitors to this fall daytime Halloween tradition will enjoy fun seasonal activities including trick-or-treat stations, pumpkin treats for the animals, creepy-crawly animal encounters, pumpkin carving demonstrations, a games area, roaming costumed characters, live music, and more. Spooky Zoo activities are free with Zoo admission, and kids ages 3 - 12 who come in costume get in for half-price.
