7.02 Birds
Because of the large number of bird species common to the area, at least two hundred ninety-nine (299) total, and one hundred sixty-three (163) breeding species, only those species listed as threatened or endangered will be listed. All are listed on the NJDEP threatened or endangered lists, and two (2) are listed as endangered by the US Department of the Interior. These, the Bald eagle and Peregrine falcon, have been verified in their respective habitats within the Pinelands.
