Rich Cimini, ESPN: Idzik has signed eight free agents, doling out a combined total of only $3.4 million in bonus money. Consider… Colon ($162,500 roster bonus)…
Aaron Wilson, NFP: Colon one-yr. $2 million deal, 250,000 signing bonus, $1 million base, $250,000 reporting bonus, $31,250 roster bonus per game active.
Rich Cimini, ESPN: In addition to an $870,000 base salary (the veterans' minimum), guard Willie Colon received a $65,000 signing bonus. He also has a chance to earn a $15,000 roster bonus. He could earn up to $950,000, but he will count only $665,000 on the cap due to the minimum-salary benefit.

Adam Schefter, ESPN: Chargers traded cornerback Antonio Cromartie to Jets for a 2011 third-round pick that could turn to a second.
Jason La Canfora, NFLN: The Jets are converting part of Cromartie’s $1.7 million salary for 2010 into a bonus (roughly $500,000), which he would receive now, rather than waiting until September, when players begin to receive their game checks.
Rich Cimini, ESPN New York: If Jets advance to divisionals, conditional 3rd rnd pick ('11) for Antonio Cromartie goes up to 2nd rnd, per source.
Manish Mehta, NY Daily News: it is a four-year deal worth $32 million [signed in 2011].
Rich Cimini, ESPN: He was a prime candidate because of a $2.3 million roster bonus due Wednesday. It appears he didn't lose any money in the restructuring. He was due to make a $7 million base salary plus the roster bonus, a total of $9.3 million. His base pay dropped to $840,000, the roster bonus was eliminated and he will receive the difference in the form of an $8.5 million signing bonus that will be pro-rated over the next two years. It drops his cap charge to $6.25 million, a savings of about $4.2 million.
Brian Costello, NY Post: The [2015] contract is for four years and $32 million, but only $7 million is guaranteed, and all of that comes in 2015… Cromartie, who turns 31 next month, has a base salary of $5 million and a $2 million roster bonus this season. The base salary is guaranteed, and he… is scheduled to make $8 million in 2016 and 2017 and his base salary is $9 million in 2018. He also has incentives that can escalate the value of the contract.

Adam Schefter, ESPN: $350,000 [workout bonus in 2011 for 90% participation)
Jenny Vrentas, Newark Star-Ledger: DeVito had been scheduled to earn a $2.26 million base salary in the final year of the extension he signed in 2009. In a restructured deal he agreed to last week, he will earn a base salary of $700,000, fully guaranteed, according to NFL Players Association records. The $500,000 roster bonus he already received this offseason, as well as his $350,000 workout bonus, are intact in his restructured deal. He also received a $950,000 signing bonus, making his total compensation this year $2.5 million. His cap number, and total compensation, reduced by about $600,000 in the restructure. Since he is due a guaranteed $2.5 million, it is essentially assured that the team will not cut him. However, the contract also includes a $750,000 escalator, based on playing time, so DeVito has the opportunity to earn his money back.

Manish Mehta, NY Daily News: The Jets also agreed to terms with second-round pick Vladimir Ducasse on a four-year, $3.25 million contract that includes a $1.025 million signing bonus.
Brian McIntyre, MacsFootballBlog.com: Signing bonus: $1.025M Base Salaries 2010: $320,000 2011: $405,000 2012: $490,000 2013: $575,000
Because they receive higher signing bonuses, second-round picks generally do not receive base salary escalators for the fourth year of the contract. However, $410,000 of Ducasse's 2013 base salary is fully guaranteed, which will void if Ducasse earns a $410,000 one-time NLTBE through minimum playing time and a team qualifier prior to that season. Since Ducasse is expected to the Jets' starting left guard this season, he shouldn't have much trouble earning that $410,000. Total value of the four-year deal, including the one-timer, is $3.225 million dollars.

Mike Lupica, NY Daily News: He gets $4.2 million up front, and $10.5 million in salary over five years, total package of $14.7 million.
Rich Cimini, NY Daily News: Elliott, 34, battling a troublesome back, will retire or be released in the near future. In what amounts to a bookkeeping move, he agreed to rework his contract, lowering his base salary from $2.5 million to $500,000. Ultimately, the $500,000 also will be wiped clean from the cap.
Rich Cimini, NY Daily News: Elliott, who came out of retirement three weeks ago, has signed a new seven-year contract… The annual salaries total $3.56 million, an average of $509,000 per year. His base salary this season was reduced to $440,000 from $500,000. Elliott can make up the difference with incentives and bonuses. Elliott is serving a one-game suspension for violating the NFL's personal-conduct policy. He's not allowed to practice this week or play in the season opener Sunday in Green Bay. He must forfeit one game check - $25,882.

Barry Wilner, Charleston Gazette: Ellis, of Tennessee, received a $2.175 million signing bonus and a deal worth $8.175 million over five years. The third and fourth seasons are guaranteed.
Randy Lange, Bergen Record: both players will receive advances on base salaries in their first two years, and their base salaries in the third and fourth years are guaranteed. Lefft estimated that the contracts "guarantee effectively 80 percent of their deals." Besides their signing bonuses, both players today will receive advances on their rookie salaries. Ellis will receive $632,000 of his $800,000 rookie salary.
AP: In his rookie season, Ellis will have a base salary of $800,000. That will escalate to $975,000 in 2001, $1.175 million in 2002, $1.375 million in 2003 and $1.575 million in 2004. He also has $100,000 worth of workout bonuses through the life of the deal.

Josh Evans
Len Pasquarelli, ESPN: Evans, who two weeks ago won an appeal that allowed him to dodge further sanctions under the NFL's substance-abuse policy, has about 8.6 million reasons for staying clean. The four-year contract Evans signed with the New York Jets paid him a signing bonus of just $200,000, and his base salary for the 2002 campaign is the NFL minimum of $525,000. But if Evans is productive and plays up to the form he has demonstrated with the Tennessee Titans in the past, someone will have to pay him next spring. New York can keep him for the final three years of the contract, but only by exercising a $3 million option, one that triggers base salaries of $1.2 million (for 2003), $1.9 million (2004) and $1.75 million (2005). The contract also includes a $750,000 roster bonus for the '05 season.
