AP: the Packers will receive a fourth-round draft pick in 2009. The selection would turn into a third-rounder if Favre plays in 50 percent of the plays this season, a second-rounder if he plays in 70 percent and the Jets make the playoffs, or a first-round pick if he plays in 80 percent and the Jets make it to the Super Bowl.

Jenny Vrentas, Newark Star-Ledger: Here’s a full breakdown and our second look at the deal, as well as the big picture: Signing Bonus: $1.6 million Option Bonus: $3.9 million (in the next league year) Roster Bonus (due yesterday): $3.092 million Base Salaries: 2010 $630,000 2011 $5.615 million (guaranteed for skill only if on roster Feb. 15, 2011) 2012 $9.985 million (guaranteed for skill only if on roster Feb. 15, 2011) 2013 $7.25 million (guaranteed for skill only*) 2014 $5.95 million 2015 $5.95 million 2016 $8.625 million 2017 $11.275 million *If he is on the roster at some date in the future; haven’t confirmed if this is Feb. 2011 or Feb. 2012. Other Bonuses: $750k workout bonus each year from 2011 through 2017 ($500k was already earned in 2010); $1 million training camp completion bonus each year from 2014 through 2017… These numbers add up to the total value of $73.6 million over eight years that was reported last week. Additional incentives -- reported by PFT last week to be special-teams triggers that are essentially unattainable -- don’t appear to have been included in the total reported value of the deal.
Jenny Vrentas, Newark Star-Ledger: The Jets converted $9 million of Ferguson's 2012 base salary to a signing bonus… Ferguson's base salary for 2012 is now $985,000, guaranteed for skill only. He can also earn a $750,000 workout bonus and is due a $650,000 option bonus, which appears to be the prorated portion of the $3.9 million option bonus in the extension he signed.
Brian McIntyre, Yahoo Sports: his $7.25 million base salary has been reduced to the league minimum for a player with seven accrued seasons ($840,000) and the remaining $6.41 million has been converted to a signing bonus that will be prorated over the next five seasons. Ferguson's $840,000 base salary is guaranteed for skill and his $750,000 workout bonus is unchanged.

Manish Mehta, NY Daily News: Here's the breakdown of the revised contract: Gholston actually gets a bump in base salary for 2010 after the restructuring. He was scheduled to earn $1.9 million and will now pocket $2.25 million in guaranteed money. Factor in a $4 million signing bonus and $250,000 workout bonus and Gholston will get $6.5 million for 2010. But the Jets get financial relief and can cut ties in 2011 when he's only scheduled to earn $550,000 (with incentives totaling as much as $9 million). Gholston is due a $2.5 million roster bonus in March 2011. But there's little chance he'll see that money if he underperforms this season. So the Jets can make a clean break if they desire after this season. (Gholston would make $650,000 in base salary with incentives that could reach $10 million in 2012, the final year of his deal).
Adam Schefter, ESPN: Gholston needs only one sack to trigger a $9.1 million roster bonus that the Jets would have the option to pick up next March. Gholston also could activate the $9.1 million bonus with 20 percent play time this season or one fumble recovery. If the Jets declined to pick it up, Gholston then would become an unrestricted free agent. This is an escalator that the Jets worked into Gholston's contract last offseason, when the two sides agreed to restructure his deal. So one sack, one fumble recovery, one interception or 20 percent play time could mean a big payday -- or it could punch Gholston's ticket out of New York.
Brian McIntyre, MacsFootballBlog.com: Gholston agreed to a contract restructure last April, which lowered his base salaries in 2011 and 2012. According to a league source, Gholston has nearly $6 million in roster bonuses the next two seasons ($2.565 in 2011, $3.34M in 2012). Through 2010 playing-time and/or qualifiers, those roster bonuses can increase, with 2011 roster bonus escalating to $9.195 million. With a cap number that is already at $6.273 million for 2011, such escalation to Gholston's roster bonus would make the club's decision much easier.

Frank Litsky, NY Times: that cornerback, Aaron Glenn of Texas A&M, agreed to a four-year contract reportedly worth $4.04 million, including a $2.1 million signing bonus.
AP: Glenn has agreed to terms on a five-year, $19.3 million contract extension with the New York Jets that will make him the second-highest-paid cornerback in the NFL behind Deion Sanders. The deal will replace a four-year, $4 million contract he signed as a rookie in 1994. It includes a $6 million signing bonus and also restructures this year's salary, giving the Jets more cap room. Including this season, the new deal is worth just less than $20 million.
Randy Lange, Bergen Record: The package for the fourth-year player from Texas A&M reportedly is worth about $ 19.4 million, including a $ 4.3 million signing bonus, plus incentives in the last two years that could boost Glenn's salary to the average of the five highest-paid corners in the league.
