Laid in is an unsigned & un-dated hand-written letter to the attention of an individual at the Library of Congress stating the donor's wish to give a copy of this book to the LOC, giving a brief reference to the span of Mannings, Inc. (1908-1970) & requesting an LOC # in spite of the non-copyright status of the material. An LOC number is affixed on a label on the inside of the front cover. The letter further states: "The formulas are unique in that ingredients quantities provide three different servings amount for each entre (sic)." Each card has the following columns: Procedure, Ingredients, and formula quantities 1F,3F,& 5F (example: for Roast Beef Hash: 4 lb, 12 lb, 20 lb).
