According to its placement in a word,stress can be free,fixed and shifting. - fixed-the position of the word stress is always the same,it is restricted to a particular syllable.
in French (the last syllable) in Czesh and Finnish (the first syllable) - shifting-the word stress can change its position in different forms of the word.
music-musician - free-the location of word stress is not confined to a specific position,it can fall on any syllable of the word
English,Russian,Italian,Greek,Spanish Some nouns consist of more than just one word. They are called “compound nouns/words”. Compound nouns can be formed in different ways. The most common way is to put two nouns together (Noun+noun); Other common Types are: adjective+noun and verb+noun. Many compound nouns are written as one word,but some of them are written with hyphens or spaces. Noun+noun Compound nouns are made from two nouns put together. - For example: tooth+paste=toothpaste
The are not always written as one word. - For example: night club
The word”toothpaste” has two syllables and the stress is on the first syllable(Oo). Another examples: (Oo):car park,shoe shop; (Ooo): sunglasses,traffic lights; (Oooo):art gallery,photocopy. Adjective+noun - If the first part of the compound word is an adjective,the stress can be on the second part too. (F.e: double room-OO);
- If the object in the second part is made out of the material in the first.(F.e: glass bottle-OO; glass jar-OO);
- If the first part tells us about location of second part.(F.e: bus door-OO;
