EVEN THOUGH WE WANT AS MANY AS POSSIBLE TO ATTEND THE GSE MEETING AT THE STURBRIDGE CLUB MONDAY NIGHT, REMEMBER THAT WE STILL WANT AS MANY MEMBERS AND THEIR GUEST TO SO UP FOR OUR VERY SPECIAL MEETING ON WEDNESDAY AS WE WELCOME THE BP STUDENTS AND THEIR BATTLEBOTS. Please contact Glenn if you are bringing a guest so he can give a count to the DOD.

Glenn also mentioned that we will once again be placing flags on the graves of our Vets for Memorial Day. More info later.

SPEAKER: Otto presented Stonebridge Press Editor Walter Bird who spoke on the business of newsprint. Mr. Bird stated that he loves the Press and that newspapers are his life. He began by presenting a history of the local press and said that Stonebridge has owned and operated it since the 1990s. At that time John Coots and David Cutler took over a press that was bleeding cash. Mr. Coots told the employees that the most important part of the news is to give the public the most important news and impress them with the local news. He stated that the papers are printed here at the DOD campus. The press got new challenges with the internet, twitter and facebook. At this time he has cautious optimism about our economy and mentioned that the press is still strong and viable and committed to distributing the news. The decision to mail the news was in response to the economic climate.
