4891 AUST WW2 RAAF FLYING HEAD GEAR LOT. Reputedly belonging to Flight Lieut Arthur J Hill. Mid 'C' type leather flying helmet showing some service wear and named to F/LT Hill. Inside ear pads. Has radio receivers (Stomberg-Carison 1942), coms "Conector leads (10H 4887) with bell plug. These unissued with Stores tag attached. MK VIII Flying Goggles with clear lenses - no damage but obvious service wear. Also c/w throat microphones by Commonwealth Aircraft Corporation M-J167. In near Mint condition. With research notes. (Flying helmet only named piece). O/a a nice lot. Grade II- $850

4894 GB C/WW1 FLYING GOGGLES. Similar to the MK II. Near relic condition. Heavily mothed interior. Missing fur/cloth padding and both straps. Grade IV. $150

4895 GB RAF HELICOPTER PILOTS BONE DOME. An early example of the MK III pattern, green body with single tinted visor. The interior is with earphones and padding. Complete with jack plug and lead. The rear of the helmet with name 'Cpl Holmes 3 Regt AAC Opos'. With little service wear, no mic. Grade II- $275

4896 GB WW2 RAF TYPE C LEATHER FLYING HELMET. With attached cross ports and chin strap. O/a service wear and soiling to inside. Split to rear seam (10cm). Repairable. Grade III+ $400

4897 GB WW2 RAF HELMET. Cork. Aviation type A. 22C/13. Later redesignated as 22C/274-284. Has ear flaps/chin strap. Tan leather sweat band shows some service use. Named to F/SGT I S McNeil. Size 7. Grade II- $850

4898 GERM WW2 LUFTWAFFE FIGHTER PILOTS MODE 10-67 OXYGEN MASK. Black rubber face mask and ribbed tube with self disconnecting attachment and clothing clip. Leather face chamois has been cut off down to black rubber. Missing attachment straps but a made up replacement strap is provided so as to attach to head gear. O/a rubber remains nice and supple and flexible. Although missing straps and chamois this is a very SCARCE ITEM. Grade III+ $1350

4899 GERM WW2 LUFTWAFFE LKP W101 WIRED LEATHER FLYING HELMET. Fur lined with fleece ear pads. Leather covered in oval alum. Cups attached to each side. Throat mic with two larynx contacts. Rear radio leads with bakelite plug. Grade II. $750

Button down/button up verticle style ear flaps, o/a an excelent condition hard to find item. Dense natural fur. One small detraction being a small chip to one of the brown side flap buttons. 4908 GB WW2 RAF 'GOGGLES MARK IVB' (No 22c/167), lovely near Mint pair except the back strap has been modified by removal of the leather strap and just having the elastic strap re-sewn on. Comes in its box of issue (no lid and very worn) has spare parts in box (these Near Mint). Apart from rear strap modification a lovely pair of goggles. Grade II. Box Grade III. $350

4909 GB WW2 'GOGGLES-NIGHT VISION TRAINING', Outdoor type, No 22C/1041, 1944 dated, in original box of issue with spare lenses, all nicely marked, slight storage wear but lenses smashed, lucky there are spares in the box. O/a Grade II- See 'Vintage Flying Helmets by Mick J Prodger, Page 222. $385

4913 US CIRCA WW2 "MONTANA PEAK" Enlisted man's khaki fur felt service hat, with brass enlisted man's badge to front. Missing chin strap, overall soiling. Some moth grazing to top and underside of brim. Comes with plywood wall hanger, used to keep the brim flat. Grade II- $150

4914 AUST WW2 SLOUCH HAT (Hat Khaki, fur-felt). N.121 marked, 1944 dated. All quite clear in liner. This is a very good example throughout. (Chinstrap has broken through near the R/H/S. Few minor moth grazes. Carr Aust stud to side. WW2 oxy Rising Sun Badge. Grade II- $650*

4917 AUST POST WW2 NAVAL RATINGS HAT. White top and drawstring liner, both with heavy soiling. Sweatband removed. Chin- strap present. Tally band with "Naval Reserve Cadet" present. Grade III+ $85

4918 AUST 1950'S NAVAL RATINGS HAT. NAMED TO F.E. BARDEN. White top with heavy soiling. No tally band. Heavy mothing around felt band. Drawstring liner. Framl Edwin Barden enlisted in the Royal Australian Navy at HMAS "Cerberus" on the 8th May, 1950. Discharged 17th September, 1953. Grade III+ $85

4919 AUST MODERN R.A.N. JUNIOR OFFICER PEAK CAP. Named to Lieutenant in the mid 1980's. Nice clean item. Grade II- $100

4920 AUST MODERN 1991 DATED SLOUCH HAT. Used By R.S.N., C.P.O. Badge to front with navy blue puggaree. Size 57cm. Couple of small moth nips. Grade II-. $120

4921 AUST KOREA SIGNIFICANT SQUADRON SIGNED RAAF SLOUCH HAT. 1952 DATED. Hat made by "Fayrefield, Melbourne. Numerous minor moth nips. Hat virtually new, unissued. Large Size 7 1/4 Carr Aust. Type button - up side with R.A.A.F. Puggaree and side colour patch (Vertical stripes) small enamel Badge to front (sewn on) with ink printed "Big Zee" (Badge of a red numeral 3 over a Sword/Sabre). 20 signatures in ink to upper brim of hat and the few that we could decipher all belonged to 77 Squadron R.A.A.F No.77 Fighter Sqd. were stationed in Japan as part of B.C.O.F. when Korean War started and served with distinction in 1950 & again in 1953. Some of the Signatures are Sqd. Ldr. Ross Glassop DFC & BAR; Flt.Lt. John Rose; Pilot Officer William Simmonds and many others. Sqn. flew Mustangs and later Meteors. A significant R.A.A.F. Historical item. With some basic research. Definately worthy of further Enquiry. Grade II- $950

4922 AUST WW2 1940 RAAF SLOUCH HAT - FEMALE - RAAF POLICE. Named with basic Nom. Roll Research. Oxy RAAF badge on single khaki Puggaree. No chinstrap. 3-4 small moth nips to under- side of brim otherwise a very striking looking hat and very scarce. Size 7 1/8 (57cms). Grade II- $600

4923 AUST WW2 R.A.A.F. STYLE SLOUCH HAT. Unstitched brim. 4 eye- lets on either side of dome. Missing the leather liner. Numerous small eyelets under the 6 fold khaki Puggaree. Large size (at least 7 1/2) 60/62cm. No mothing to upper & only a couple of moth grazes under brim. No Badge has been fixed to the hat. Country style bash, but could be an unissued specimen. Nice addition to Australian WW2 Pacific Collection. Grade II- $450

Double row of 4 eyelets to dome with 12 other eyelets around lower dome area. (These have a blue shoelace threaded through & ties in a bow as an unofficial Pugaree) Carraust. Side clip. 4927 ITALY C/1930s COLONIAL CARABINIERS BRIMMED HAT. Fawn fur felt. Similar to a Scouts hat with brim edges rolled up. Brown false leather hat band and silver bullion embroid. Carabiniers insignia. Makers mark on sweatband and pink satin lining. An unusual piece of Italian Colonial head gear. Grade II- $500

4928 ITALY COLONIAL ASKARS TARBUSCH (FEZ). Restored & reblocked (Shaved). Magnificient looking item with Artillery Emblems to front. (Star above Crossed Cannon with Bugle & Eagle device. 4948 AUST WW2 AIR RAID WARDENS STEEL HELMET. Black painted with white "W" on both ends. The "W" remains quite clearly, but nearly all the black worn off and light pitting. Good liner and chinstrap. Grade III+. $125

4952 BULGARIAN CIVIL DEFENCE, GERMAN THREE PIECE LUFTSCHUTZ HELMET. Smooth apple green finish with large Bulgarian National Shield to right side. (90%present).Leather liner (now dry). Chinstrap incomplete. Liner only secured in two positions and loose. Unusual variant Luftschutz Helmet. Grade II-. $385

4953 CZECHOSLAVAKIA MODEL 1953 STEEL HELMET. Copy of Russian Helmet with Helmet liner (similar to German M.31) Comes complete with leather chinstrap and overall good condition with minimal paint loss. Named in Liner. Size 57. Grade II. $125

4954 FRANCE WW1 SCARCE MEDICAL CORPS MIG ADRIAN STEEL HELMET. Shell only, no liner. 80% of the horizon blue paint remaining. Has Medical Corps Badge on front. Has original chinstrap but very worn. One rivet replaced and one missing on comb. Grade III+ $350

4955 FRA WW1 STYLE M15 STEEL HELMET "CASQUE ADRIANE". Fairly nice throughout with 6 tongue liner and chin strap (damaged and misshapen). Standard "RF" Flaming Bomb Badge to front. (Republique Francais). Grade II- $525

4956 FRANCE WW2 M26 ADRIAN PATT STEEL HELMET. Green painted finish with age and service wear. No badge. Very worn liner. Has chinstrap but damaged at one end. Grade III+ $85

4957 GB ROYAL IRISH REGIMENT 1878 PATTERN OFFICERS HELMET. A good Victorian example of the Home Service pattern blue cloth helmet by F W Flight. Complete with gilt crosspiece, spike & rose bosses supporting a velvet backed chin chain. To the front, a gilt metal eight pointed star, the topmost point displaced by a Victorian crown. Mounted on the star, a laurel wreath enclosing the garter, within the garter, in silver, a crowned harp within a shamrock wreath set on a red cloth ground. To the base of the wreath, an applied silver scroll inscribed 'The Royal Irish'. Retains leather sweatband with crimson cotton edging. O/a GC. Grade II- $2000

4958 GB POST 1902 ROYAL ARTILLERY OFFICERS BLUE CLOTH HELMET, 1878 pattern with gilt brass peak mount, back strap, side boss and cruciform ball top (gilt worn). Has velvet backed gilt chinstrap. KC brass Artillery Officers helmet plate (worn gilt). Refer K&K No 807. Leather & silk lining. O/a a nice example with some minor moth nips to band. Named to 'Sandford'. (1906 Officer Listing: Sandford, Daniel Arthur, 2 Lieut 18 Aug 1900; Lieut 22 May 1902. Royal Garrison Artillery). Captain 1913, Major 1915, Lt-Col 1919, DSO & BAR 1918. Served Sudan 1910. 4 times MID & French Legion of Honour, 5th Class. On Retired Pay, Brevet rank of Lt Col 1922. Grade II- $1500

4959 GB 1871 PATTERN HAMPSHIRE YEOMANRY TROOPS HELMET. Silvered skull, mounted with acanthus leaf decoration. To the front a helmet plate of a 8 pointed backing star, mounted with gilt QVC stamp 'Hampshire Yeomanry', within this a gilt rose. Two rose head bosses supporting a leather backed chin chain, the crown with fluted spike supporting a white horse hair plume (thinned), good to fair leather lining some repaired dents & age wear o/a Grade II- $2850

4960 GB HELMET MK II ROYAL ARMOURED CORPS, WW2 (1945), steel with stainless steel rim, MK II liner with quick release lift a dot American style snap fastener. Rough paint finish (60%) with white paint dots throughout. Chinstrap has left side buckle missing. O/a Grade II- $150

4964 GB WW2 STEEL COMBAT HELMET. All paint now missing from exterior of Helmet, khaki-green paint still to interior. Few dents to front & rear of shell. Worn oil cloth liner with tears. MKII chinstrap attachment clips, one stamped "1940", the other "1941". Short length of original chin- strap. C/W replacement chinstrap (original, new old-stock). Grade III+ $75

4969 GB WW2 MKII Steel helmet with original liner and chinstrap in very good order. Smooth finish, crimped edge. Retains 90% original paint. Dome screw looks to have replaced recently. Extra large size liner (7 3/4) about 62cm. Would siut most re-enactors. Grade II- $195

4970 GB MK III "Turtle Shell" steel helmet with rolled edge. 1952 dated oil cloth liner and elastic type chinstrap. Grade II- $125
