In a story that asks a lot more questions than it answers, a guest at Fort Lauderdale’s W Hotel had to be freed by firefighters after he fell off a machine in the exercise room and became entangled in it. Rescuers began prepping torches and saws, but were able to get the man's head out of the machine using a bar. The man was hospitalized with significant injuries.
Signs around Yellowstone Park warn visitors to keep their distance from the animals. However, one 43-year-old Mississippi woman found the allure of a selfie with her daughter and a bison too irresistible. As the women turned their backs to the bison to snap their photo, they heard the bison's footsteps moving toward them and started to run. It turns out a bison can outrun the average 43-year-old woman and it lifted her up and tossed her with its head. They went to the Old Faithful Clinic for treatment of her injuries and perhaps a selfie with the doctor.
An unruly Russian airline passenger got drunk and abusive on a flight from Hong Kong to Vladivostok. Unfortunately for the guy, not only was he humiliated when fellow passengers punched, kicked and hogtied him before restraining him with seat belts and tape, another passenger filmed the whole thing and uploaded it to YouTube for the world to see. Pennsylvania’s Travis Turner called 911 to report he was suffering from chest pains. This wasn’t surprising as the 4-foot, 11-inch Turner weighs 380 pounds. However, when paramedics arrived, Turner told them he was fine and didn’t have any medical issues. However, Turner did say was having issues with his air conditioner and asked if the paramedics could fix it. The paramedics instead fixed Turner by notifying 911 of his bogus emergency call, which was at least his 60th over the past three years. Turner is due in an air conditioned court next month.
Frankfort, Indiana’s Tyler Williams was drowning his sorrows at a local bar after his wife kicked him out of the house for cheating on her. At some point during the evening, Tyler thought it would be a good idea to buy a can of fuel from a gas station and use it to torch his in-laws’ home. Tyler might’ve gotten away with it had he not later returned to the bar and told the bartender, “burnt that b----’s house down.” Tyler later told a judge, “I’m not a violent person by any means.”

After five years, Spotswood, New Jersey’s Jason Hubbard decided to try and rekindle an old flame. Jason went to his ex-girlfriend’s house and they immediately shared a bed. Actually, Jason sneaked into the woman’s home while her mother was taking out the garbage and hid under her bed for three days until mom heard a noise and called police. Jason’s actually motivation was homelessness and he was arrested on numerous charges including theft of services because he allegedly charged his four cell phones in an electrical outlet under the bed.
Since the Chattanooga shootings, armed civilians have been taking it upon themselves to guard military recruitment centers around the country. However, our troops may need protection from their protectors. Volunteers in Lancaster, Ohio were ordered to leave their post when Christopher A. Reed accidentally fired his AR-15 rifle. Police took the rifle from Reed pending his appearance in court, which will be a return engagement as he was convicted of the same offense in 2013. Reed later downplayed the incident saying, “It is what it is. Nobody got hurt.”
