PRISCILLA was recorded as the first wife of JAMES-HENRY 1868 of this family before census information showed that she was wife to JAMES-HENRY 1861 of St Erth Family 6. In this family JAMES-HENRY was in fact found to be HENRY 1869 who lived in the Falmouth area. The possibility that he married another Priscilla Gay was explored. In the 1851 census Priscilla Gay was daughter of John Gay farmer at Swanpool Farm Falmouth Priscilla-R. age 23 in the 1861 census). She was probably the Priscilla Gay who married either Samuel Coombe or Joseph Olver (June quarter 1872 Falmouth district volume 5c page 283) No Priscilla Tregenza (née May) was found except that in St Erth 6.

Note:
-
FRANCESCA-PERLA-MEDINA-WEBBER born 07APR1896 near Middle Terrace Falmouth mother Lillie domestic servant no father recorded informant Emma Male aunt present at birth, married 19SEP1915 Falmouth parish church spinster nurse age 21 no father recorded living Colchester to Charles-Conrad Bunny bachelor Sapper R.C. age 26 living Falmouth father Alexander Bunny contractor. EMMA married John Male is aunt but to the mother or the daughter ? Story in the family refers to LILIAN/LILLIAN giving birth to PEARL illegitimate daughter by FRANCIS her lover and running ran away at age 16 when Pearl only three weeks old. Note the use of FRANCESCA a female equivalent of Francis and WEBBER – it is common practice to name illegitimate child using the names of the father although no Francis Webber could be discovered in the locality. PEARL and PERLA are very similar and she may have been called this in the family. However which LILLIAN is it ? The LILLIAN who may have been born and died early before her sister LILLIAN born 1891 is a possibility but would have to have been born around 1880 to give birth and to match the story. This would make her father THOMAS-JOHN about age 13 and mother age 0 – clearly not possible. The parents were not married until 1890 and no children were recorded at the 1891 census. This early LILLIAN probably did not exist. LILLIAN born 1891 could not have given birth to FRANCESCA in 1896. The most likely candidate is LILLA born 1872 but would have been 24 at birth of FRANCESCA. . No record of her suggested marriage can be found. EMMA (LILLA’s older sister) was present at the birth of PEARL and seems to have ‘adopted’ her as in the 1901 census see (below) where John Male is married to Minnie and has Pearl Tregenza (not Male) as daughter ! There are discrepancies in her ages at different times.

ALICE does not appear in the 1881 census but appears in 1891 census (see above) as visitor in the house of Robert Ker Nantrelew Church Mylor Cornwall where her aunt ELLEN was general servant and her mother was a few houses away in Trelew in the house of her blind father - the dates match and the place of birth of ALICE is given as London
