JI Halsell: 6/36, 13 gteed, 20 over 3
John Clayton, ESPN: Hill received a six-year, $38 million deal that includes $15.5 million in guarantees... One of the interesting addendums to the contract, according to a source, is a provision that will allow Hill to keep the guarantees if he is suspended for an offseason incident in which he was found asleep in a car and marijuana was found in the car.
Mike Florio, PFT: The numbers are available for the long-term deal signing by Seahawks linebacker Leroy Hill after the team yanked a franchise tender that would have paid him $8.4 million guaranteed for one season. Instead, he’ll get $11 million guaranteed for two seasons, plus most likely a $2 million option bonus.
The payment comes without a signing bonus, but with a $5 million guaranteed base salary in 2009, and a $6 million guaranteed base salary in 2010. After 2010, all bets are off from a salary-cap standpoint, if there’s still a salary cap. In 2010, Hill is due to receive a $2.5 million roster bonus and a $4.5 million non-guaranteed base salary. Cutting him would create an acceleration of only $1.2 million beyond the $400,000 that the Seahawks will carry in option bonus proration regardless of whether he’s on the team. After that, the base salaries are $5 million in 2012, $5.5 million in 2013, and $5.5 million in 2014. In all, then, it’s a six-year, $36 million deal. As a practical matter, however, it’s a two-year, $13 million deal with a series of four one-year options.
Mike Sando, ESPN: The former franchise player, already facing a one-game NFL suspension to open the regular season, recently agreed to a salary reduction from $6 million to $2.125 million as part of a deal wiping out the remaining years of his previous contract, according to a source.

Hill's salary had been guaranteed, but off-field troubles can raise questions about a team's obligations, as when a judge ordered former receiver Charles Rogers to repay $6.1 million in bonus money to the Detroit Lions… Hill's new deal lets him earn back $300,000 in incentives. He also gets a $60,000 roster bonus.

Mike Sando, ESPN: The deal featured a $5 million salary in 2009 and a $2 million option bonus for 2010. The option bonus was triggered early enough for $400,000 in annual proration to count against the 2009 cap. If the Seahawks decided to part with Hill to save that $6 million in salary, they could conceivably try to recoup $1.6 million of the $2 million option bonus.
Brian McIntyre, Tacoma News-Tribune: Hill’s one-year deal includes a $100,000 signing bonus, $685,000 base salary, and $50,000 in per game ($3,125) roster bonuses along with $165,000 in playing-time incentives
Brian McIntyre, MacsFootballBlog.com: Hill can also make $2M max on 1-yr deal. $1.3M base, $200K to sign, $100K roster bonus, $400K in incentives

Brian McIntyre, NFL.com: With Jackson due $4 million in non-guaranteed base salary in 2012 and representing $4.4 million in cap savings, not only will he need to hold off a challenge from Flynn for the starting job, but he may have to distance himself considerably from Wilson just to earn a roster spot.

Clare Farnsworth, Seattle Post-Intelligencer: Details of the four-year, $12.6 million contract extension Cortez Kennedy signed last week have surfaced. According to figures reported to the NFL Players Association, Kennedy will receive base salaries of $2 million in 1995 and 1996, $2.15 million in 1997 and $2.5 million in 1998. He will get reporting bonuses of $800,000 in 1995 and $300,000 in each of the final three years. There also are five annual workout bonuses of $200,000 starting in 1994. Next year, Kennedy receives $750,000 of a $1.25 million signing bonus included in the extension, with the remainder paid in 1998.
