Set up Process Time (Questions on back screen)

Bring out some key points from Bill’s talk (see below) and remember that you will probably only have around 15 minutes actual delegate process time before the morning break.

Caring for the Culture / Developing Resourceful Leaders

Finding and Being Legacy Leaders / Developing Endurance

As our leadership edge is sharpened over these two days a key component is going to be identifying the changes we need to make so that vision becomes reality. We are going to have a time for processing and unpacking what we have heard, so let’s start by considering this first question. Our hope is that these questions would be discussion starters that would be used for God’s purposes in growing you and your team. You can split into groups or look at this on your own, whatever works for you.

Question (slide on back screen)

A culture will only be as healthy as its senior leaders want it to be. Discuss your commitment to creating a healthy culture and how you might want to improve the culture in your church, ministry, or organisation.

  • How would you evaluate your own commitment to the team culture?

  • How would you evaluate the team culture?

  • What might be holding you back from moving forward with pursuing a healthy culture.

Session 2

Carly Fiorina: Defining Leadership (38/22)

Session Length: 75 minutes

11:18 – 11:20 (2 minutes)

Welcome Back / Comment on Crucial Conversations / Announce Speaker Carly Fiorina (slide on back screen)

Bill mentioned at the beginning of the Pastor Howitzer sketch that this was an example of how not to have a crucial conversation. Tomorrow morning we‘re going to hear from Joseph Grenny on how we can Master the Art of Crucial Conversations, so don’t miss that.

There is an introduction to Carly Fiorina at the beginning of the speaker video, so a very short opening introduction to the talk will be sufficient.

Carly Fiorina is a well known speaker at the Global Leadership Summit. Bill interviewed her back in 2012 and we heard a remarkable story of how God is able to move powerfully in people’s lives. Carly is an example of someone who took a very unconventional route to the place where she is today and she has been invited back to the Summit this year to speak about Defining Leadership. So let’s sit back and listen to this introduction.

11:20 SPEAKER MESSAGE STARTS:

From secretary to CEO to senate candidate, Carly Fiorina is one of the most recognisable leaders in America today. She began her career as a secretary and 20 years later became the first woman to lead a Fortune 50 company …

11:58 SPEAKER MESSAGE ENDS:

.… There’s a look that people get when they achieve something that is beyond what they thought was possible. That look, it’s the same everywhere in the world. It’s the same for every person. That look is all the repayment a leader needs. So, I would close by saying this to you. Leadership is a choice. Choose to lead. Choose to change the order of things. Choose to fulfill your own potential for leadership, and choose the joy of unlocking the potential in others. What you are, what we all are, is God’s gift to you. What you make of yourself, what we all make of ourselves, is our gift to God. Make of yourself leaders. Thank you so much.
