In granting this approval it is understood and agreed that USA Swimming shall be free and held harmless from any liabilities or claims for damages arising by reason of injuries to anyone during the conduct of the meet.

Facility Description
This meet will be run in a 8-lane, 25 meter pool with Wave Eater lane lines, Colorado electronic timing system, 8 lane read out board, wide deck areas. Balcony seating for 300, Standard Paddock nonslip starting platforms. All races will start at the deep end (12 feet deep)

The competition course has not been certified in accordance with 104.2.2C(4).

Eligibility
As per GSJSL By-laws, all swimmers must have competed in at least two dual league meets during the 2016 Summer season. All swimmers must compete within their age group; with the exception of relays. Swimmers may be aged up for relays ONLY if there are not four swimmers in the age group entered in the meet. Each swimmer may swim a maximum of 3 individual events and 2 relays, one medley and one freestyle relay. Swimmers may enter with “NT”. Forms for discrepancies will be available and must be submitted by a coach
Mixed aged relay times are not eligible for the SWIMS Database.
Deck Entries
Deck entries are permitted but:

Will be closed out 45 minutes prior to the start of each session.

Will be written in; as all printing will be done ahead of time.

Only accepted if there is an available slot that does not require adding a new heat
All deck entries must be submitted in writing to the Admin Table; forms will be available at the Admin Table. Deck entries are $5.00 per event and must be paid in cash, exact change please, at the time of the deck entry.

As agreed upon at the 2016 league meeting, there will be a $5.00 entry fee for each individual event. There are no fees for relays.

The following officials will be on deck during both sessions: Meet Director,
Administrative Official, Meet Referee, Starter, and a minimum of 4 Stroke & Turns.
Meet/Deck Referee
The meet/deck referee shall be in charge of the meet. Any questions regarding the conduct of the meet should be made directly to him/her. The meet/deck referee has final judgment for any issues that arise during the course of the meet.
Rules
The competition will be conducted according to USA Swimming Technical Rules (Part One - the blue pages – in the Rulebook) and various other sections as noted in Article 202.4.6.
For pools with bulkheads: Any swimmer observed swimming under or through the bulkhead by an Official or Safety Monitor/Marshal at the meet will be disqualified from that swimmer’s next individual event or from the remainder of the meet, as determined by the Meet Referee. This policy will be STRICTLY enforced.
Smoking and the use of tobacco products are prohibited as is sale and use of alcoholic beverages.
No unauthorized personnel will be allowed on the pool deck. Coaches, Officials, and designated Meet personnel will only be permitted on deck if they are wearing their approved and current credentials. All other individuals, except swimmers, will be prevented from entering the deck area.

1st through 16th (20, 17, 16, 15, 14, 13, 12, 11, 9, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1)
Relays:
1st through 8th (40, 36, 33, 30, 27, 24, 21, 18)
Teams are allowed to enter an unlimited number of eligible swimmers in any event, however, only the top two finishers from each team will score points.
Awards:

Individual events – Medals will be awarded to 1st, 2nd and 3rd. Ribbons are 4th – 16th.

Relays – medals will be awarded to 1st, 2nd and 3rd places.
-
Team trophies will be awarded to the Top Three Teams.
-
Awards will be presented to the actual finish position of swimmers.

Results
|
Results will be posted in the hallway as soon as possible after each event. The scoreboard is an unofficial time. All final results will be emailed to all team contacts by Friday, July 29th. 2016 and posted on www.swimpva.org website.
Times for USA Swimming registered athletes with ID numbers in the meet database will be loaded into SWIMS. These times are legitimate for all purposes (qualifying times for local, regional or national meets, records, recognition, etc).
Times achieved at an approved meet will be loaded with the swimmer attached to his/her USA Club or, if appropriate, as unattached if the swimmer is not affiliated with a USA Club or is within the 120 waiting period for transfer.

Programs and Admission
|
$7 per person (includes program). Any parent who has athletes in both sessions will be admitted to the second session without additional fee; must get hand stamped on the way out of first session.

Concessions
|
Concessions will be managed by the Pleasantville Aquatics Booster Club.
|
Championship T-Shirts
|
Championship T-shirts will be available from Sporting Design and available for sale during both sessions.
|
Shoes/Sandals
|
Shoes/sandals are to be worn when they leave the pool deck to go into the bathroom/locker rooms or the hallway.
|
Deck Changing
|
Except where venue facilities require otherwise, changing into or out of swimsuits other than in locker rooms or other designated areas is not appropriate and is prohibited. The USA Swimming Rulebook defines Deck Change as: Changing, in whole or in part, into or out of a swimsuit (excluding a drag suit) in an area other than a permanent or temporary locker room, bathroom, changing room or other space designated for changing purposes while at a practice, competition, or other pool-related
activity.” This includes slipping off the top of a one-piece performance suit to place on
an alternate bikini top immediately following a race.

In compliance with USA Swimming Rules and Regulations: The use of audio or visual recording devices, including a cell phone, is not permitted in changing areas, rest rooms or locker rooms. Additionally, the use of equipment capable of taking pictures or videos
|
|
(i.e. cell phones, cameras, PDA's, etc) are banned from behind the starting blocks during the entire meet, including warm up, competition and warm down periods. Unless approved in advance by the MAS Board and stated in the meet announcement, photographers /videographers are not permitted on deck at any time.
|
|
As an approved exception, USA Swimming-registered and credentialed coaches are permitted to utilize visual recording devices to record their swimmers in the pool for the sole purpose of stroke training subject to the location restrictions of this statement so long as they do not interfere with meet operations. In the event of any disputes regarding video recording, the Referee’s decision shall be final and binding. In no case shall coaches be permitted to delegate this role to athletes.
