www.MidAtlanticCenterforthePerformingArts.com 5543 Harford Road, Baltimore, MD 21214 443-438-4525YOUTH PROGRAM - 2012-2013 Class Schedules 2012-2013 Classes begin the week of September 17th, 2012 and conclude with the MCPA Gala Production in June 2013. The Youth Program at MCPA is designed for students ages 8-12 who are just beginning their dance education or have only studied for a few years. This program is also a great choice for the experienced dancer who is looking to take dance classes as well as participate in other activities. Youth Ballet Students are introduced to the fundamentals of ballet technique. Curriculum includes barre and center floor exercises, with the use and understanding of classical ballet terminology. Students will be held to the high standards of ballet etiquette. 60 minute class - one day per week: 2012-2013 Session: Sat 9:45-10:45 Uniform – Girls wear any style solid black leotard, pink tights, pink ballet shoes. Hair should be pulled back in a neat bun. Boys wear white t-shirt, black bike shorts/sweatpants and black ballet shoes. For your convenience, we recommend ordering shoes and attire through MCPA to ensure correct style and color. Ballet/Tap/Jazz Combo – 8-12 year olds An extension of the 6-8 year old combo class. This class is perfect for the recreational dancer who loves to dance but can only commit to attend class one day per week. 90 minute class - 30 minutes each Ballet/Jazz/Tap – one day per week Summer: Thur 6:00-8:00 2012-2013 Session: Thur 6:;00-8:00 Uniform – black leotard, pink or tan tights, pink ballet shoes, black jazz shoes, black oxford tap shoes. Hair should be neatly pulled back. MCPA offers programs for advanced dancers of all ages with requirements of three or more days a week.
