We’re just the first to go public.
13 But then the other time that was
14 really frightening to me is, we had come back to Colorado and John and I were in Father Rol's
16 office, in the church, and my dad was sitting
17 out in the little waiting area. And Father Rol
18 and John and I were praying, and Fleet White
19 burst into the door, burst into the office.
20 And he is just, his eyes are just
21 wild. And you know, I kind of did this number,
22 and he got down on his knees, and looked like--
23 and had a business card in his hand, and he was
24 leaning over to my husband saying, "you know
25 what this is, John, you know what this means,
1 John, you know what I am going to have to do
2 with this, John, I am going to have to handle
3 this my way, John."
4 I mean he was just on and on and
5 on. And I said, "Fleet, Fleet, what is it?"
6 And he handed me this business card
7 and it was a business card from some journalist
8 or something, and it had a note on the back.
9 And it said, I don't know exactly word for word,
10 but something to the effect of, you know, Mr.
11 White, there has been some question as to
12 whether it was you or John Ramsey who removed
13 the tape from JonBenet's mouth. You know. And
14 about the sequence of the basement discovery.
15 Because we had talking about this.
16 Well, he said they are after me and
17 my family now, John, I am going to have to
18 handle -- and he was just like a maniac and
19 Father Rol said to calm down and you know, he
20 said, "I am going to handle it my way, John, my
21 way, John and you know, Father Rol was just
22 trying to get them to calm down. "It's okay
23 Fleet," you know, "what do you mean by your
24 way?" You know, calm down. You know, it will
25 be okay.
So, in the end, the more we contemplate these new findings the simpler it all gets. All the confusing behavior, the odd evidence, etc. fades away into a body of very consistent, probable and very simple descriptions of what happened. What started as a best-fit becomes blatant. Occam’s Razor wins in the end, but the crime committed was brilliant to a fault and the detractor need only realize that there are indeed people in this world that are that crazy. Lizzy Borden would have been envious.
PRs last painting from People Magazine, July 10th, 2006. Her art teacher was quoted to say: “Towards the end, when she was too frail to walk, Patsy Ramsey mustered her strength for one final task. She loved to paint, and she had to finish her work for her first exhibit at an art fair. So her art teacher came over, and Patsy was weak as a kitten, but they worked until 11 at night until it was done," said Patsy's close friend Suzanne Goebel. The painting showed two children on a beach. "It was her son Burke with his arm around JonBenet," said Goebel. "She didn't say much about it, just that it was them." PR was an amateur painter and this appeared to be based on a more famous work by a painter named Hamilton of the State of Alabama.

”Well, I know what’s going on”
Final Observations and Q and A
Q: You seem to conclude that PR planned and viciously executed the murder of her daughter with no remorse and that no “accidents” occurred that night. But if that is the case, why write the rn that night? Why not plan it in advance and write it before? Wouldn’t that seem more likely?
A: No, the idea of the ransom note was to make the police run around in circles looking for a kidnapper. It was a twisted joke PR was playing on the cops … and everyone else. It only needed to work for a few hours. While the police remained clueless the Ramseys would secret JBR’s remains out of the house as soon as the last cop left that day. We suspect they thought that would be right after the end of the kidnapper calling window. But Arndt wouldn’t leave. And, finally, the coup de grace, Arndt mentions an impending search warrant. Their plan is out the window now. They would not be able to get the body out, or certainly wouldn’t try to get it out, while police were still there. This meant that police dogs would find the remains with a night gown laid over the child’s front body and JBR’s remains wrapped in a white blanket, all tucked inside a air container ready for shipment in a King Air 100 aircraft ... just like JR’s. But, had the plan worked, by the next morning the cops, finally realizing this might not be a kidnapping, have zero evidence to work with. They can theorize all they want but they’ve got nothing on the Ramseys. Every piece of incriminating evidence was already flown out.
So let us walk the reader through why they had to do it this way. They need to murder their child (!). So, the best place to do that without being observed or leaving trace evidence outside their control, is their own home. PR wanted to control this situation. However, if they leave the house in the morning before the police are called, witnesses may recall them leaving. So, they have to explain why they left without JBR. Getting the remains out of the house for disposal actually becomes a significant issue. But it’s a big issue because its aggravated by the fact that PR insists on doing it in the home; which admittedly does allow for better control of the crime scene. Therefore, a plan to remove the remains after the police respond, and respond briefly, is necessitated. The only way to do that is to stage a kidnapping. A quick check at a library would reveal to PR or JR that in kidnapping cases search warrants are usually not issued the first day. Instead, the parents may be asked if the police can search, something the Ramseys could have easily put off until the next day … when the remains were 1500 miles away in a container that served to contain and clinically seal the trace evidence contained within it from the outside environment. What you see in the basement and in that house is exactly that; a scene set up to stage a kidnapping. It is exactly what it is. It is not a staged murder by any means. And PR undermined this plan when she wrote the second, impromptu note that she was using as a communication method to JR (if planned, they knew that communication between them could likely lead to discovery – something that also now explains why the two of them stayed away from each other during the morning hours of 26 December – where even subtle, unintentional communications indicating criminal knowledge might be observed), but which she loaded with taunts, silliness and arrogance. The police were immediately suspicious of the letter and a search warrant was assembled. Had she stuck with the original note things might have been different today.
Q: Your theory seems to be much more derogatory toward the Ramseys than any I’ve heard. What if they are innocent?
A: Great question as it allows me to respond to what I suspect will be the most common misrepresentation of my work. I have not advanced a ‘theory’ in the sense that it purports to indentify guilty parties. What I’ve done is create a best-fit of the available evidence. The fit, of course, depends directly on that available evidence. All this analysis does is tell us where we are today in terms of probability with respect to what we know. The truth could be completely different. It is certainly true that the odds in the context of what we know do point in directions that have never been explored, as far as I know. There is no ‘theory’ out there that matches this one unless we take the cynical, and as already pointed out, fallacious and uselessly generalized view that it is a PDI theory (yes, Patsy did it theory). Put another way, if I were a juror in this case I would not convict PR on the basis of this evidence.
If I were a detective I’d put my *&^ in my hands and run several cons on the Ramseys getting them to admit what really happened by pretext or whatever means necessary. Trust me, I’ve done this before and it works remarkably well, even with seasoned Narcissists. The cops were in an enviable position to do this since they controlled a lot of the crime information in the early months. Let me give you an example. I’m a telephone company worker who worked on your house 6 months ago (or whenever). Your house was inadvertently bugged. Make up a story of how that innocently happened, then turned to blackmail. I have audio tapes of what happened. Let’s talk. Now, of course, you don’t expect them to talk. They won’t. You set them up. You can even throw in some more details that only the police might know to make your claim more believable. You set up a sting to make them behave in ways that unambiguously reveal conscious of guilt independent of state of mind. It’s not that hard. Ho hum.
So, if they are innocent they have avoided prosecution, so everything’s cool. That people suspect they were involved is inevitable and not anyone’s fault. The circumstances themselves ensured that. It doesn’t matter who the messenger is, it’s the message that is killing them.
Q: Is there any best-fit that you might have second thoughts about?
A: Yes. The head injury is problematic. The absence of a positively identifiable bludgeon weapon suggests that the weapon may have been a stationary object. This would be especially true if the murder were premeditated since incorporation of a stationary object into a staging would not easily admit of a solution. But the problem with the stationary object hypothesis is that there is no suitable object in the vicinity of the location of death (as indicated by the voiding on the basement floor). Furthermore, the autopsy indicates that the skull injury occurred late in the death sequence, not early. Lack of “organization” means that the usual swelling and bleeding associated with such an injury did not occur because the heart was not pumping. If it occurred late in the sequence then that forces the head injury event physically close to the location of voiding. It was thus not likely to have occurred elsewhere, such as in JBR’s private bath. Decorative garland identified as coming from the decorations placed on the spiral staircase railing was found in JBR’s hair. I suspect a connection to the head injury, but a paucity of information precludes further analysis. Another possibility is that she was thrown against a toilet in the basement bathroom about 10 to 15 feet from the “wine cellar” door. JBR could have thus voided at the “wine cellar” door seconds later by being moved, carried or by running or staggering there.
Q: Did you notice anything peculiar about the placement of the ransom note?
A: Yes, but it relates to state of mind and I excluded it from best-fit analysis. Much of the psychology of this I had to exclude because it so easily speaks to state of mind. But, as far as the ransom note is concerned, it is what I would expect if a Narcissist had faked the ransom note. Generally, a kidnapper would more likely leave a ransom note where the child was last known to be, not in some random location in a 7000 square foot house. But for a Narcissist it isn’t so random. PR’s mind was focused on self, as it always would have been for a Narcissist, and she was therefore the intended audience of the kidnapper to the exclusion of anyone else. It is consistent with her inflated sense of self-importance since the spiral staircase was “her” routine morning path to the kitchen. And she likely saw the kitchen as her territory. It never crossed her mind to think of a kidnapping from a victim’s perspective, that is, by putting herself in the victim’s shoes, up in JBR’s bedroom on the second floor. The pathology and guilt is so obvious it’s pathetic. So many shades of Sadie Ann there are.
Q: So, what exactly is the motive here?
A: That’s the really twisted part. Think of it this way. Let us assume you are not a Narcissist. If you had a son and daughter doing some really twisted junk, and you suspected that it might be going beyond just “playing doctor”, would you not be a little embarrassed if everyone you knew found out? No? What if it ended up revealing that you, too, had some abuse issues growing up? Now, normal folks like you might very well run to a therapist and do the responsible thing. I know I would. But now, think how it would make a Narcissist feel. This is absolutely, categorically, unacceptable. And they would never, ever, go to a therapist. It would utterly destroy the façade that the Narcissist has been building and maintaining all their lives. No one knows what a jerk they really are because they’ve put so much effort into concealing their real selves. Only those that live with them get to see that very dark side. The emotional trauma and impact of the appearance that this incestuous ‘marriage’ imputes onto you is unbearable to a Narcissist. Now, add to that that you have no empathy at all for your children. They’re just there solely for your edification and use, to be discarded whenever they become a liability. Why would you let both of them live? This is how they think. In that sense they are purely logical and devoid of emotion. And it is especially true if there has been some new development indicating that one of those children is about to spill the beans. Trust me, I know, any full blown Narcissist with sociopathic empathy levels in that situation would kill the shit out of their child as easily as if they were drinking a glass of water. By killing JBR (the “talker”) they have eliminated this whole flock of problems with one stone. The minute you realize the difference between ‘abuse’ and ‘marriage’ is the minute you understand the trauma the parents experienced. This wasn’t playing doctor. This was some seriously messed up shit. I suppose some could find some sympathy for PR and JR in this situation, and maybe even extend forgiveness, but I still can’t justify murder with the view that “we didn’t mean for this to happen”. But in a way it shows how simple this case really is. It’s about sex, secrecy and humiliation. It’s about the murder of the assailant. That’s right. It’s about the voices and creaks in the night that keep reminding you that you “couldn’t fix it”. It’s about my brother, who is my lover, who is my spouse. Of course the parents lied through their teeth and obstructed the investigation. So would you. And it wouldn’t be the first time.
Q: Did you set the reading level in this story to exploit the fact that response reading levels would equal or exceed it?
A: Yes – now follow that bunny trail.
Q: With the proviso that this is conjecture and pure opinion, are you willing to say more about your suspicions that you couldn’t say with best-fit alone?
A: Sure. This is my opinion. It is probably wrong. [That is my broad legal disclaimer]. I suspect that inappropriate incestuous advances were flying through the Ramsey home from all directions. In other words, it wasn’t just BR and JBR, it’s just that that is all the best-fit could tell us. Was JR in that whirl wind? Maybe, but I’m not as sure about that. What made me suspicious was, it has been reported but not proven, that PR’s mother, Nedra Paugh, stated that JBR “was only sexually abused a few times”, or words to that effect. If that statement is true then it tells me something far worse than the obvious problem it represents. It means that the Paugh family simply had no concept of the inappropriateness, both culturally and medically, of incestuous relations. That is profound. It leads one inexorably to conclude that PR was badly victimized by incestuous advances throughout her childhood. This brings many things together. There is a scary correlation between the frequency of, and the age at which, sexual abuse occurs to a victim and the victim’s likelihood of developing Narcissistic Personality Disorder in adult life. In particular, the correlation is strongest with decreasing levels of empathy as the victim reaches adulthood. Here is what I believe happened. PR, as some victim’s do, developed not a penchant for abuse herself but a deep, psychological repulsion to it and would react to it on an emotional level hard for normal people to understand. I suspect that incestuous tendencies are partly inherited and that BR and JBR simply started it with little or no adult help. BR may have sought out information that led him to it, but I don’t think direct assistance was given. They just started doing it in what appeared to PR to be an instantaneous act. It could have started with the Paugh’s but I’m not sure. In any case, imagine the devestation PR likely experienced when she discovered that her two children were doing this? The one thing she felt she could not fail in with her children was precisely this. Yet, without abuse from either parent, they still end up doing what PR had to deal with growing up, that is, PR’s childhood horror. PR and JR probably tried to stop it for a while to no avail. PR, given everything else I’ve learned about her, could easily see killing one of them as the only solution for their salvation before God. I think that’s what happened.
Q: Any ideas on the bludgeon weapon, identity, origins, disposition, etc.?
A: Yes. Some of it is speculation so I did not use it for a best-fit. But this part is best-fit information: The weapon was likely long in order to achieve the mechanical advantage needed. It was likely cylindrical, smooth and hard. Even though it was likely cleaned of evidence, something would likely appear on it tying it to the basement. It was likely discarded outside the house or taken with the intruder, if one existed. What isn’t best-fit is this: the weapon in question matches the description of a baseball bat left in an odd location behind the house (it wasn’t in place children would likely leave it). We suspect it could have damage or deformation as a result of the head blow. Due to the lack of laceration and head profusion we would not expect any blood to have transferred to it. It has a fiber match to the carpet in the basement. We suspect it was located by happenstance very near the “wine cellar”, possibly in the train room. It is most likely the impromptu murder weapon number 2.
Q: Your last update indicated that the mechanical best-fit may indicate that someone of a stature of less than 68 inches may have swung the bat. What did you find?
A: We went back and ran the tensor again to see how this affected the outcome. The “ray” of guilt pointing directly at JR and PR wobbled slightly toward BR, but no significant change came as a result. Therefore, we accept this as one of those anomalous situations where the attacker may have simply swung in an arc-motion converting to an axe-like motion a distance of about four feet prior to impact. This is a simple explanation easy to imagine if you try doing this yourself in a confined space. Your peripheral sense of motion will incline you to swing this way without having to even consciously think through it. It’s a natural way to swing a bat in a confined space. Having said that we can only push that logic so far. 68 inches of stature is about as tall as the perpetrator could have possibly been.
Q: Isn’t your story-telling here a little dark and even perverse in its own right?
A: Yes, it is very much indeed. Wake up. That’s the whole point. We are trying to convey to the reader what true mental illness looks like. Those that get hung up over that are precisely the ones that will never be able to solve this case. Too often detectives and sleuths approach crime from an overly moralistic perspective (see the 25 Standing Criteria). That’s fine for the purposes of making value judgments. And it’s spot-on for a jury deciding punishment. But not if you’re talking about a forensic attempt to figure out what actually happened. Drop the moralizing and start looking at science and psychology if you want to figure this out. The same mistakes were made in the Lizzie Borden case about 100 years ago.
Q: Your conclusions, at least as of now, seem to be enough to make this case “courtroom proof”. Why can’t it be prosecuted based on the reasoning in this article, if it is correct?
A: Courts could care less about truth. And I can tell you from experience, judges are lazy and don’t want to exercise their brain. Understanding this murder takes far too much cerebral horsepower and no court is going to listen to a 60,000 word argument of best-fit analysis. Courts love to say that they can only act on what is brought into the court, but they are the very ones who control that. Judges and lawyers, contrary to popular belief, are not geniuses. And they do not understand narcissism. They cannot fathom, as most “normal” people cannot, how someone can commit an act so devoid of conscience and empathy as this. Ironically, police detectives have a much better sense of smell regarding this kind of disorder than just about anyone, save for the personality types themselves (and, as we’ve stated, this author is narcissistic personality, but not disorder). Judges will reject it on a visceral basis. A judge hearing this case needs to be one with some pretty vast experience in dealing with the criminally insane, sociopathic personality. And the inherent, staggering hubris of lawyers and judges makes it doubly hard for them to admit that this “pedestrian” house-wife could play them so thoroughly. They will buy right into her deft dissembling as coming from “Little Miss Saint Innocent in the Lily White Dress”. When it comes to this kind of smarts, the ability to detect narcissism and con-artists, lawyers are the most naive bunch I’ve ever met. They are, in this sense, uber stupid.
Q: PR is deceased. If still alive is there anything you would say to her? Would you accuse her of malfeasance?
A: I would certainly not accuse her of anything. Frankly, I have sympathy for her. But yes, I would have something to say. I know you …
Sadie Ann Komrik in yet another teenage modeling photo. A common thread with Narcissistic women is their tendency to become involved in hobbies and careers focused on their physical appearance; like beauty pageants and modeling. They are always looking in the mirror both literally and figuratively. Our daughter Alex is now modeling as well. Our family revolves around the modeling circuit constantly going to NY, Milan and the other hot spots for this or that competition.
