ATLANTA SPEECH SCHOOL GUILD
Founded in 1969 and made up of over 400 members, the Guild provides the Atlanta Speech School with classroom volunteers and financial aid support while also generating community interest in the school and its services.

Membership is open to anyone interested in supporting the school.  Parents of Atlanta Speech School students are encouraged to join and participate in the activities.

Please see the reverse side of this form for information on the major activities that the Guild supports. There are many volunteer opportunities, covering a broad range of interests.

ATLANTA SPEECH SCHOOL GUILD VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

Gala

Our largest financial aid fund-raiser will be held on Sunday night, November 17, 2013 at the Capital City Country Club in Brookhaven.


Volunteers are needed in the following areas:


  • Assembling and mailing invitations in September and October

  • Preparing decorations and setting up the day of the event

  • Supporting the auction committee with item procurement, packaging or display activities

  • Checking guests in and out the night of the event

  • Assisting with the children’s art projects



School Volunteers

Volunteers are needed to supplement the professional staff at the Speech School throughout the school year (September through May) in the following areas:




  • Classroom assistance in the Kenan Preschool and Hamm Center (volunteer opportunities range from weekly to bi-monthly)

  • School mailings

  • Staffing for school events

  • Special school projects



School Store

Volunteers are needed to staff the bookstore, aid children with their purchases and assist with inventory management and marketing.



Guild Administration

Volunteers are needed throughout the year to assist with mailings, aid in development of the Guild web page, implement new computer-based programs, provide graphic design support, and help write articles for the newsletters and publications.
