BIRMINGHAM BOWL’S ALABAMA POWER YOUTH FOOTBALL CLINIC SLATED FOR JUNE 19 AT HISTORIC LEGION FIELD

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — Youth football players from Birmingham and the surrounding areas are invited to attend a free half-day football fundamentals clinic on Friday, June 19 at historic Legion Field in Birmingham. Clinic instruction will be led by UAB coach Bill Clark in conjunction with coaches and trainers representing the University of Alabama, Auburn University, UAB, Jacksonville State University, Birmingham-Southern, and others.

The Alabama Power Youth Football Clinic is hosted by the Birmingham Bowl and presented by Wind Creek Hospitality and Coca-Cola. The Birmingham Bowl is one of thirteen bowl games owned and operated by ESPN Events, a subsidiary of ESPN.

The free clinic will give participants the opportunity to complete on-field agility drills and offensive and defensive training under the supervision of some of the nation’s top college football coaches. All participants will receive a complimentary T-shirt and lunch.

Participants will also receive a voucher for two complimentary tickets to the Birmingham Bowl. The tenth annual Birmingham Bowl at Historic Legion Field and will feature teams from the Southeastern Conference and the American Athletic Conference.

“This is a special opportunity for us to offer a free football clinic to Birmingham youth led by some of the top coaches in the country. We look forward to another great turnout at historic Legion Field,” said Mark Meadows, executive director of the Birmingham Bowl.

The free clinic is open to the first 200 youth, ages 8-13, to register online at www.birminghambowl.com. Participants are required to bring a signed waiver to check-in on the day of the clinic. Check in begins at 7:30 a.m. at Legion Field’s Gate 7, with the clinic set to run 9 a.m. – noon. Free parking is available at Legion Field on the day of the clinic.
