This document was complied by Suzanne de Cheveigné (suzanne.de-cheveigne@univmed.fr) in May 2011 from elements sent in by subscribers to the PCST list in response to a query concerning "semi-professional" science magazines, i.e. the ones scientists would read in their countries (but that are not academic journals). In some cases, the table contains information on all science magazines. Indicated in bold are the magazine(s) widely read by scientists. This table will be updated as further information arrives.

- RevistaPesquisaFapesp: http://revistapesquisa.fapesp.br/ Published by the most important and biggest research foundation in the country. This magazine is distributed freely to all scientists and students that receive founds from FAPESP and it is also available at news stand.
- Scientific American Brasil: http://www2.uol.com.br/sciam/ Although it brings mostly international reports and few national ones.
- Ciência&Cultura: http://cienciaecultura.bvs.br/ Published by the Brazilian Society for the Advancement of Science (SBPC) since 1949. It is distributed freely to all members of SBPC and also to scientific institutions and university libraries in a total of 8,000 issues every 3 months.
- CiênciaHoje: http://cienciahoje.uol.com.br/ Created in 1982 by SBPC. It is available at newstands. It is the most traditional popular science magazine in the country, written by scientists and few science journalists
There are other magazines about science yet I would not consider them exclusively about science, since they also deal with curiosity, culture, sometimes pseudo-science, but they are popular science magazines. Which are:
- Superinteressante: http://super.abril.com.br/
- Galileo: http://revistagalileu.globo.com/
- GEO: http://revistageo.uol.com.br/
