Chelsea Club Newsletter
December 2012
Welcome to the December newsletter. I realize we have had our Christmas break and I hope that you all had a nice time enjoying the sunny weather we had.
During the last month we had a group of young girls who came to help out at the Club. They were from Wellington Girl’s College and the members really enjoyed interacting with them. They were a big help for the staff and were really chatty and interested in what we do here and loved talking to the members.
During December we said goodbye to Diana Taylor, Care assistant who had been working for the Club for 6 years. I was busy interviewing people to fill her role and have now appointed Melanie. Mel will work Mon and Tuesday, 9-2.00pm and Friday 2-5.00pm. She will introduce herself if she picks up your member, so please make her feel welcome.
We went up to the Home of Compassion for afternoon tea and looked around their new Sister Aubert Centre. It was lovely to meet up with Marsden Club also and sing Christmas carols. I would also like to thank two young friends who come and sing at Christmas for us, Sophie and Harriet. They both have lovely voices and sing unaccompanied. They should have entered New Zealand’s Got Talent!!!!!
January 2013 will be busy no doubt, remembering that Monday 21st January will be stat public holiday and the Club will be closed. It is Wellington Anniversary Day.
Thanks to everyone who gave gifts and cards to the members and staff at Christmas time. They were much appreciated and made for some nice treats over the break.
Please feel free to discuss any queries with me or Vanessa and remember you can leave a message on our ansaphone and it will be received.
Take care and have a great start to the new year.
Angela, Vanessa, Jocelyn, Rayleen, Mel, Averil, Christine, Pam and Rebekah.
