HyPAS is KYOCERA Document Solutions’ software development platform for the TASKalfa i series and advanced FS products. Kyocera is providing a set of SDKs (Software Development Kits) and APIs (Application Programming Interfaces) for the HyPAS platform that developers can use to access and extend the functionality of MFPs, and to connect the MFP to external business applications.

Thanks to HyPAS, the functionality and operations of the MFP can easily be customized to the individual requirements of a customer. For instance, the MFP panel can show buttons that automatically execute complex workflows of the company, thereby accelerating and simplifying the use of the device. Or, the MFP can be directly connected to business applications like Document Management Systems, which also serves to integrate the MFP into a company’s workflows.

KYOCERA Net Policy Manager is a server based application to manage device usage in an organization, giving complete control over access to the device and its functions. With its extensive security features like follow me printing and encryption, it makes sure that all confidential documents remain confidential and that the output environment is secured from information theft, hacker attacks and unauthorized access.

KYOCERA Net Policy Manager (KNPM) is aimed at small to medium sized environments with domain authentication servers like Active Directory consisting of a dozen to a few hundred printers and a few dozen to 1,000 users. For larger environments, multiple KYOCERA Net Policy Manager Servers can be used for different sections of the organization.

KYOCERA Net Policy Manager in its current version only supports KYOCERA models. For quick and easy authentication at the device, it is ideal for use with Kyocera’s range of USB card readers.
USB Card Readers: Access Control for Secure Output

With the range of USB card readers, Kyocera offers a security solution that seamlessly integrates Kyocera devices into existing security concepts. The same ID card that opens doors can now also be used to logon to a device and to retrieve printouts.

Using card readers for authentication has many benefits for a company:

As standard utility, FS-6525/6530MFP support the FMU, this is the file delivery utility to expand KYOCERA’s SMB scanning feature. This utility can simplify to integrate with image stored software, and route the files based on the attached meta data. When the scan file is received the Pop-up informs as notification. For the purpose of Panel-related function for document archiving, panel menu can be customized with HyPAS application.
