To sophmore Nico Marin who was one of a small group selected out of nearly 400 applicants to attend the Terry College Accounting Residency at the University of Georgia this summer. To junior David Fair who is one of 28 students to win a full scholarship to the 2012 Startalk Furman Chinese Camp, a two-week language immersion summer camp at Furman University. To junior Max Woo and sophmore Emma Petterson, who have been selected to study the news and entertainment industry at CNN and TBS this summer as part of the 21st Century Leaders program. To senior Estefani Ignacio on being nominated and selected as Star Student by the Georgia Chinese Language Educators (GCLE). Please note the revision - due to book availability - affects only senior IB students SPORTS NEWS The North Atlanta Sports Booster Club invites all Warrior Student-Athletes to our annual end-of-the-year Athletics Award Ceremony on Wednesday, May 16th, in the theater. A light coffee and dessert reception will begin at 6:30 PM, with the awards program beginning at 7pm. All varsity athletes and seniors will be recognized, as well special presentations for MVPs and outstanding athletes. This ceremony replaces the previous "seasonal" sports banquets and allows us to celebrate an entire year of hard work by all Warrior teams. The evening will begin with a very brief Sports Booster Club General Meeting to elect our new Sports Booster Club officers. NAHS FOUNDATION Contribute to the North Atlanta Foundation and earn a chance to win two front row seats at graduation. The willingness to give back to a place that made a positive difference in your life can be very rewarding. As a soon-to-be Warrior alumni, we ask that you join the efforts of your fellow alumni by contributing a small donation ($10) to the North Atlanta Foundation. All gifts, no matter how big or small, make a difference in the lives of students and advance the Foundation’s mission to help North Atlanta become the leading public high school in the Southeast. In addition, seniors or student families that contribute in the next week will have a chance to win 2 front row seats to Graduation! THE CENTER FOR THE ARTS North Atlanta Center for the Arts Faculty Recital is this Thursday, May 17th, at 7:00 PM at Northside United Methodist Church. The concert will feature Mr. Brooks on french horn, Ms. Lewis on organ, Mr. Lawrence on violin, Mr. Denson on saxophone, Mr. Colbert on trumpet, Mrs. Colbert (of Sutton) on flute and Ms. Page on flute and voice. Not only is this a great opportunity to hear the talent of our incredible faculty members, but also a great opportunity to get in one last concert for Sutton and North Atlanta students who need a concert review!!!! The Juilliard Summer Jazz Residency is June 18th – 22nd at North Atlanta High School. Many of the students in our cluster have begun to register for this awesome opportunity! In keeping with our tradition, we want to be gracious and acommodating hosts. We are seeking sponsors for the following: 1) Continental Breakfast each morning for the Juilliard Staff. 15-18 people. 2) Lunch daily for the Juilliard Staff for 15-18 staff. 3) A special dinner in final day for 75 – 100 students/teachers/staff (Moe’s, Willies’s, Chic-fil-A, pizza, hotdogs, etc) If you or your company would like to sponsor any of the above items, please contact Mr. Colbert at 404-802-4728 or rrcolbert@atlanta.k12.ga.us. We will be sure to include your company name and logo in the culminating printed program. PTSA NEWS Thanks to Aileen Harris, Sherri Calcagno and an army of volunteers who hosted the reception for the Class of 2012 and their families following the Visions of the Future program this past Saturday morning.
