The student presents an original composed movement sequence, which is appropriate to the brief and is at least one minute long.

It is based on the idea of emotions and uses a motif that is developed in two ways




The composition is in an ABCA structure and communicates the idea of the controlling of emotions.
The sequence has a movement motif and is developed using augmentation, insertion and embellishment.
The sequence shows appropriate use of:

The movement motif is developed effectively using augmentation, insertion and embellishment.
The sequence shows deliberate and effective use of:

  • A clear floor pathway using movements related to an emotion

  • A movement phrase that represents a diversion or tactic

  • Balance, suspension and off-balance movements

  • Beginning and ending in a controlled and interesting balance

The ABCA composition is imaginative, and clearly and perceptively communicates the idea of controlling emotions.
The movement motif is developed inventively using augmentation, insertion and embellishment.
The sequence shows skilful and perceptive use of:

  • A clear floor pathway using movements related to an emotion

  • A movement phrase that represents a diversion or tactic

  • Balance, suspension and off-balance movements
