May 9, 2014 Liaison/Program Meeting ~ 8:00 A.M. - 3:00 P.M.

9:30 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. Business Meeting

Librarians will be working on both the Professional Development Committee and the VRC/DML Committee. We will split the group in half; one half participating in the Professional Development Committee and the other in the VRC/DML Committee. Then the groups will switch so that everyone gets to give feedback on the topics. Marilyn Wilson and Erin Marone will co-chair the Professional Development Committee representing secondary and elementary respectively. Melissa McBride and Wendy Turkington will co-chair the VRC/DML Committee representing elementary and secondary respectively. Both groups will report out and subcommittees formed to do the work necessary for the coming year.

10:00 a.m. – 10:45 a.m. Professional Development Planning for 2014-2015/VRC/DML Committee

Librarians will divide up into levels and then rejoin the larger group to bring the schedule together with each level reporting out.  At this time, librarians can also discuss and plan for: workshops in addition to Liaison meetings of interest to librarians; vendors they would like to see at our vendor exhibits; discuss/book future clusters at their school libraries; discuss hosting a conference/possibility of joint conference with Nassau and Western; book future Follett library automation user groups, etc.  Holdings of VRC and DML will also be discussed.
