John Samuel Slack ("John Slack") born about 1850 in Kanawha County, West Virginia, first married Emeline C. Matheny ("Emeline Matheny") June 5, 1872 in Kanawha County, later married Emma Douglas August 21, 1880 in Kanawha County, and died about 1883. Emeline Matheny was born about 1855 in Kanawha County, West Virginia, and was the daughter of Michael Matheny who was born about 1818 and Margaret Price who was born about 1822. Emma Douglas was born about 1851, was the daughter of John Douglas (“Doug Douglas”) who was born about 1820 and a Julia who was born about 1832, and she died about 1934. The children of John Slack and Emeline Slack were:

Hilda A. Hunter ("Hilda Hunter") born in Hancock, North Carolina, and married a Almanulma; and,

William Oran Hunter ("William Hunter") born April 20, 1919 in Putney, Putnam County, West Virginia; and,

Samuel Wilbur Slack ("Samuel Slack") born November 13, 1883 in Kanawha County, West Virginia, married Eva Myrtle Melton ("Eva Melton") November 4, 1911 in Kanawha County, West Virginia, and died June 2, 1943. Eva Melton was born about 1893 and died about 1968. The children of Samuel Slack and Eva Slack were:

Vada Virginia Slack ("Vada Slack") born October 2, 1912 in Kanawha County, West Virginia, and married Floyd A. Ramsey ("Floyd Ramsey") July 6, 1932 in Kanawha County with Rev. C.B. John Copenhaver was born July 1, 1856, was the son of Jacob Thomas Copenhaver ("Jacob Copenhaver) (1824-1904) and Virginia Newcomer (1828-1917), was apparently a wealthy farmer near Elkview, West Virginia where he served as Deputy Sheriff. He declined to run as the Governor of West Virginia and died November 21, 1933 in Elkview, Kanawha County, West Virginia, and is buried in the Copenhaver Cemetery in Little Sandy, West Virginia. John Copenhaver apparently had first married Elizabeth Given who was born about 1860 and died about 1893. John Copenhaver and Chleo Copenhaver had a daughter named:

Hazel Copenhaver born November 30, 1897 in Kanawha County, West Virginia and who married Richard Flemmings;

Alice Jarrett born about 1876 in Kanawha County, West Virginia, and married Charles Smith July 27, 1905 in Kanawha County. Charles Smith and Alice Smith had 6 children:

Charles Rice was born about 1897 in Mason County, West Virginia, was the son of Edward Rice and Margaret Edwards, died February 10, 1936, and is buried with his wife. The children of Charles Rice and Mary Rice were:

Dr. Otis Kermit Rice ("Otis Rice") born June 6, 1919;

Ferrell ("James Ferrell") on May 16, 1877 in Kanawha County, West Virginia, and she died about 1883. Jacob Meadows and Sarah Meadows had 13 children:

Nancy Jane Meadows ("Nancy Meadows") born about 1845 in Kanawha County, Virginia that later became Kanawha County, West Virginia, and married Ahaz Spencer on March 25, 1866 in Kanawha County, West Virginia with Rev.
