Dorset Cavender married a Sarah (“Sara”) whose Last Will and Testament was executed on January 20, 1739 in Dorchester County, Maryland, and was probated on February 23, 1739 in Dorchester County, Maryland, with Solomon West being named as the administrator and Robert Medford and William Medford being named as the next of kin. Her estate was appraised by Abraham Trice and William Payne. Thomas Williams and Robert Medford were listed as creditors. She died in 1738 in Dorchester County, Maryland and when Solomon West was the named administrator of her estate, the appointment stated:

"Administrator of Sarah Cavender, late of Dorset, deceased".

On November 26, 1739, Robert Medford and William Medford renounced all right to administer the estate of Sarah Cavender in favor of Solomon West, and on December 1, 1740, Solomon West filed a statement to the effect that all debts had been paid. The estate was not finally settled until October 12, 1742. It is believed by some that the above Dorset Cavender and Sarah Cavender were the parents of the children listed below. Dorset Cavender and Sarah Cavender had 6 (and possibly 7) children:

He is also believed to be the same Charles Cavender who was mentioned in the court deposition given on March 10, 1778 in Dorchester County, Maryland by David Cavender below.

His last Will and Testament was executed on February 14, 1769, was witnessed by Thomas Cannon, A.B. Whitely ("Bing Whitely"? & "Bing Whitley"?) and Arthur Whitely ("Arthur Whitley"?), and was probated on April 24, 1769 in Dorchester County, Maryland. He left his entire estate to his second wife, Dorety Cavender (actually "Dorothy Cavender"), who was also named the executrix of his estate. Henry Cavender and his wife Frances Cavender had 3 children:

His named his wife Mary Cavender as the Execurtix, and the witnesses were James Stevens, James Robinson, and James Cavender who was probably his nephew and son of his brother Thomas Cavender.

See the Last Will and Testament of James Leggett which was executed in Princess Anne County, Virginia on November 21, 1812 and probated in Princess Anne County, Virginia on May 3, 1813 where he bequests: to his son Robert Leggett; to Enoch Leggett; to Edward Digs (“Edward Diggs”?); to his daughter Amey Whitehurst (“Amy Whitehurst”); to his granddaughter Elizabeth Wood and if she dies, to Robert Leggett’s daughters Anne Leggett and Alsey Leggett; and to his married daughter Moley Cavender(“Molly Cavender” & “Mary Cavender”) with her maiden name being either Moley Leggett, Molly Leggett or Mary Leggett who married Henry Cavender. His son Robert Leggett as the Executor, and the witnesses were William Vangover, Edward James and Moses Wilbur. Note that in another court proceedings, an orphan named Enoch Leggett also chose Robert Jones, the son of Robert Jones, as his guardian. It is not yet known whether he changed his name to Enoch Jones, but it is highly doubtful that he did.

Apparently following the decease of her husband Henry Cavender on about February 7, 1803, widow Mary Leggett Cavender may have assumed her maiden name of Polley Leggett (“Mary Leggett” & “Polly Leggett”) and thereafter married a Malbone (possibly “Phillip Malbone”).

On January 25, 1768, the last Will and Testament of Robert Jones (the grandfather of Mary Jones) was executed and was probated on January 3, 1771 in Princess Anne County, Virginia and in which he mentioned his sons Robert Jones and Enoch Jones. (Query: is the named Enoch Jones actually the minor Enoch Leggett whom he assumed the legal guardianship?) and also mentions his daughters: Ann Jones (“Anne Jones”); Mary Jones; Sarah Jones, Amey Jones (“Amy Jones”), Venus Jones, and Susanna Jones (“Susannah Jones”?). He further mentions his wife as being Mary Jones. Executors were Thomas W. Walker (“Thomas Walker”) and his son, Robert Jones, and the witnesses were Thomas Leslie and Joseph Wood.

On January 12, 1791 the last Will and Testament of a Mary Jones, the widow of the above Robert Jones was executed and was probated on February 6, 1792, in Princess Anne County, Virginia and in which she bequeaths: (i) to her son, Enoch Jones (“Enoch Jones, Jr.), who apparently likewise married a Mary (It has been suggested by some that they had a daughter likewise married Mary Jones and who is the one who married the above Henry Cavender.); (ii) to her daughter, Susanah Cain (“Susannah Cain”?), who had previously married a Timmothy Cain (“Timmithy Cain” & “Timothy Cain”) in Princess Anne County, Virginia and thus was no longer Susanna Jones (“Susanah Jones”), the witnesses to her marriage being Jane Leggett? and Owen Jones; (iii) to her daughter, then named Ann Leggett (‘Anne Leggett”?), who had previously married a Leggett and and thus was no longer Ann Jones; (iv) to her daughter Amy Burk, (“Amey Burk”?), who had previously married a Burk and thus was no longer Amy Jones (“Amey Jones”); (v) to her daughter, Mary Dobson, who had previously married a Dobson and thus was no longer Mary Jones; (vi) to her granddaughter, Frances Mintzon, one of her daughters apparently remarried Mintzon; (vi) to her granddaughter, Mary Jones, who apparently was the daughter of her son Enoch Jones; (viii) to her great-great granddaughter, Mary Cavender, who was listed as being the daughter of Henry Cavender and may actually be the granddaughter of the above Henry Cavender and the daughter of his son likewise named Henry Cavender; (ix) to her granddaughter, Amy Cavender, (“Amey Cavender”) who may be the Amey Leggett Cavender who was the daughter of the son of the above Henry Cavender who was likewise named Henry Cavender, and (x) to her granddaughter, Ann Fitchue. Her Will was witnessed by Hillary Whithurst (“Hillary Whitehurst”?) and Evan Leggett. Also, Enoch Jones willed to his wife Mary Jones, to his daughter Mary Cavender who was likewise named Mary Jones and married the above Henry Cavender, and further to his granddaughter also named Mary Cavender.

The Last Will and Testament of Enoch Jones was executed in Princess Anne County, Virginia on January 24, 1803 and probated in Princess Anne County, Virginia on May 2, 1803. His wife, whose name was not disclosed, and James Haynes were appointed as Executrix/Executor, and the witnesses were Thomas Walker, Edward Cannon, and James White. He bequeathed his estate to his wife during her widowhood, and then to his sons: William Jones, Robert Jones and, James Jones, and to his daughters: Rebeckah (originally “Rebeckah Jones” or “Rebecca Jones” but by then was probably married) and Mary (originally “Mary Jones” but by then was probably married) and was probably the one that married Henry Cavender (hence, “Mary Cavender”) and they had a daughter likewise named Mary Cavender.

Henry Cavender and Mary Jones Cavender had a daughter named Mary Cavender who probably was the one mentioned in the Will of Enoch Jones and was also mentioned in the Will of his widow, Mary Jones of Princess Anne County, Virginia. It is said by some that this Mary Cavender married a Cannon and thus became Mary Cannon. However, the Last Will and Testament of James Cavender, Sr. was executed on October 16, 1788 in Sussex County, Maryland, proved in October 1792 in Sussex County, Delaware, and was witnessed by George Cannon, Newton Cannon and Robert Juett (“Robert Jewett?). James Cavender, Sr. named his sons as: James Cavender, Thomas Cavender, Charles Cavender, Henry Cavender, and David Cavender, and named his daughter Mary Cannon. Thus, the Mary Cavender, daughter of James Cavender, Sr. was probably the one who married a Cannon, and not the above Mary Cavender, daughter of Henry Cavender and who was named in the Will of Mary Jones which was probated in 1792 and witnessed by Hillary Whitehurst and Evan Leggett.

Henry Cavender married Mary Laggett “(Mary Leggett” & “Molly Leggett”) on November 22, 1779 in Princess Anne County, Virginia (which now in the independent City/County of Virginia Beach, Virginia) with Edward Cannon, Jr. and Henry Cavender being the sureties. Note also that James Leggett and Frances Leggett gave their consents to the marriage of Mary Leggett to Henry Cavender, Sothey Mills and Frances Leggett witnessed the consent, and Edward Cannon, Jr. and Henry Cavender were the sureties. Thus, it appears that James Leggett and Frances Leggett (some say “Ann Jones”) were the parents of the above Mary Leggett and the father of the above Henry Cavender’s father was likewise named Henry Cavender. See the Last Will and Testament of James Leggett which was executed in Princess Anne County, Virginia on November 21, 1812 and probated in Princess Anne County, Virginia on May 3, 1813 where he bequests to Enoch Leggett and to daughter Moley Cavender (“Mary Cavender”), among others.

On August 11, 1780, Henry Cavender and Mary Cavender (formerly “Mary Leggett”) witnessed the consent of James Leggett for his daughter, Frances Leggett to marry John Petree (“John Petre”), with the surety being Enoch Jones.

Henry Cavender executed his Last Will and Testament on May 26, 1801 in Princess Anne County, Virginia, naming his wife, Mary Cavender (formerly "Mary Leggett"), his two sons, William Cavender ("William Cavender") and Henry Cavender, and his unnamed daughters. His Will was witnessed by James Stevens, James Robinson, and James Cavender who was probably the son of his brother, Thomas Cavender. His Will was probated on February 7, 1803.

Mary Cavender (formerly "Mary Leggett") survived her husband, Henry Cavender, by about 31 years. Her Last Will and Testament was executed in July 10, 1834 in Princess Anne County, Virginia and probated on August 4, 1834 in Princess Anne County, Virginia, and in which she bequethed: to her son William E. Cavender ("William Cavender"); to her son Henry Cavender; to her married daughter Susanah Peatree (formerly “Susannah Cavender “ &“Susanah Cavender”, and at that time, possibly "Susannah Peatree", "Susanah Peatross", "Sasannah Peatross", “Susannah Petre” or "Susanah Petre"); to her married daughter Amy Leggett Absalom (“Amy Absalom & “Amey Absalom” and formerly “Amy Cavender” & “Amey Cavender”, and at that time, possibly Amey Leggett Absalom”, or "Amy Leggett Absolam"; to her married daughter Rebecca Weeker (formerly Rebecca Cavender and quite possibly "Rebecca Wicker" or "Rebecca Weeker"; to her married daughter Mary Roberson (formerly Mary Cavender and possibly "Mary Robertson"); to her married daughter Nancy Diggs (formerly “Nancy Cavender"); and to her married daughter Margaret Dunn (formerly “Margaret Cavender"). Her Will was witnessed by Tavy J. Burroughs ("Travy Burroughs"), Mary Ann Waterfield ("Mary Waterfield"), James H. Burroughs ("James Burroughs"), A.G. Tebault, and Henry Moses.^{28, 43, 83, 91, 133, 195 & 196}

Thus, the children of Henry Cavender and Mary Leggett Cavender included the following:

SUSANNAH CAVENDER (“Susanah Cavender” or “Susannah Cavender”) who married a Peatree ("Susannah Peatross" ?, “Susanah Peatross”?, “Susannah Peatree”?"), and probably is the the Susanna Cavender (“Susannah Cavender”) who married James Petree (“James Petre”?) in Princess Anne County, Virginia on either April 4, 1803 or April 4, 1808, with Rev. Charles Henley performing the ceremony and the surety being Edward Digges (“Edward Diggs”, “Edward Doggal”? & "Edward Dogges"?);^{133, 145, 149, 168, 279, 294 & 355}

AMEY LEGGETT CAVENDER ("Amy Leggett Cavender", “Amy Cavender” & "Amey Cavender")is believed to be the person who married Tully Whitehurst on September 26, 1806 in Princess Anne County, Virginia. If she was 18 years of age when she first married, then she would have been born about 1768 It also said that Amy Dawley first married Thomas Cavender in Princess Anne County, Virginia, thereafter became a widow, next married Tully Whitehurst on September 26, 1806 in Princess Anne County, Virginia, and still later married John Absolam on July 31, 1832 in Princess Anne County, Virginia.^{133, 149, 222, 279, 294 & 355}

MARY CAVENDER born in Princess Anne, Virginia, first married her cousin, H.C. Cavender ("Henry Calvin Cavender"?), apparently became a widow, and later married James Robinson on July 20, 1802 in the Lower Norfolk District of Princess Anne County, Virginia (which now in the independent City/County of Virginia Beach, Virginia) with the marriage ceremony being performed by Rev. Charles Henley. Her father and mother consented that both were of legal age and James Cavender, James Stevens (“James Stephens”), Elizabeth Leggett and James Robinson were the witnesses to the consent, and the surety was James Steven. Sometime around 1815, the Robinson family migrated for a short time into Pennsylvania before finally settling into Guernsey County, Ohio. James Robinson was born about May 13, 1775 in Virginia. James Robinson and Mary Cavender Robinson apparently moved to Belmont County, Ohio about 1820-1830 and still later moved to Batesville, Noble County, Ohio where Mary Robinson died on March 10, 1850 and James Robinson died on October 7, 1842. Both are buried in the Old Batesville Cemetery in Noble County, Ohio.^{133, 149, 294, 350 & 355}

It is to be noted that a Mary Cavender married James Absalom on May 13, 1806 in Princess Anne County, Virginia with the ceremony being conducted by George Norris (“George Morris”?), a Baptist minister. It is to be further noted that on July 31, 1832, a Mrs. Amey Leggett Cavender ("Amey Cavender"? & "Amy Cavender"?) married a John Absolem ("John Absolam" & "John Absalom") in the Lower Norfolk District of Princess Anne County, Virginia with Rev. George Norris (“George Morris”?) performing the ceremony.^{133 & 279} There is the possibility that the above Mary Cavender and Amey Cavender were both daughters of the above Henry Cavender and Mary Leggett Cavender, and both had married Absalom brothers. It is to be still further noted that the above Mary Cavender apparently was the one mentioned in the Will of Mary Jones of Princess Anne County, Virginia as being her great granddaughter, which Will was probated in Princess Anne County, Virginia on February 6, 1792.
