Golfers Warm Up 8 dynamic stretching package delivers strength and stability for athletes
Greenville, S.C. ̶ Two local fitness professionals have joined forces to address injury prevention for athletes of any age. Rick Bramos, creator of 2 Days to Fitness training program, and professional athlete Jose Alvarez recently released the Golfers Warm Up 8, an educational video demonstrating the most effective and convenient way to warm up prior to athletic activity.
“The Golfers Warm Up 8 is targeted primarily to golfers,” says Bramos, “but the exercises and equipment can be used and modified for athletes of any age warming up for any sport.”
Bramos says the idea for the warm-up came from more than three decades of experience in the fitness industry. “I've had a steady stream of clients with repetitive sports injuries,” he says. “The question of which is better, static stretching or dynamic stretching, has been around a long time. Over the last decade, however, the conclusion still hasn't become main stream.”
Static stretching decreases the voluntary contractile power of the muscle up to 28 percent for up to an hour after stretching occurs. For golfers and tennis players, this decrease in the power output of the swing can leave the shoulder unstable and susceptible to injury due to semi-relaxd muscles and tendons and ligaments that are not effectively warmed up.
Bramos explains that dynamic stretching immediately helps stabilize the joint, particularly when the shoulder muscles are warmed up in multiple vectors or planes. “Dynamic stretching takes the muscles crossing the joint through a complete range of motion,” he says. Because biological tissue has some viscosity to it, the dynamic warm up increases core temperature, muscle temperature and elongates the muscles for smooth consistent movement. In the case of golf, tennis or other sports, dynamic stretching provides these benefits from the first swing.
The Golfers Warm Up 8 dynamic stretching package comes with the tubing equipment, towel and a video with demonstrations of the entire warm up. As a bonus, there is a simple home workout using limited equipment that can be purchased at box retail stores. There is also an advanced workout using one adjustable bar that will challenge any athlete in only 20 minutes.

As a veteran of the Atlanta Braves, Alvarez understands what it takes to stay fit and play sports. “I can say without hesitation that if you are not doing these eight dynamic stretches, you are not playing your best,” he says. “And, you're making yourself more vulnerable to injury.”
Even though he's now off the professional baseball circuit, Alvarez is still active in sports. He works with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, serving as chaplain for the PGA's Nationwide Tour. He is also the 2007 winner of the Carolina Mountain Tour golf championship.
Both Bramos and Alvarez enjoy working with children, and helping them prepare to achieve great performance in sports. A percentage of the proceeds of the Golfers Warm Up 8 will go to FCA.
The Golfers Warm Up 8 is available on amazon.com.
