RE: Approval of Non-SDO IT Board Position BACKGROUND: In accordance with the HITSP charter (document HITSP 06 N 48), HITSP Board members serve two year terms. The 2008-2009 term Board members tenure expires on December 31, 2009. Normally a call for Board nominations is issued in the third quarter. However, as the HITSP contract was extended through January 31, 2010, it was recommended that the Board positions also be extended for the additional month to synchronize the Board terms with the contract. In the Non-SDO IT category the following Board member term is expiring on December 31, 2009: Stephen Lieber, from Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) ACTION: HITSP Non-SDO IT members are requested to approve the term extension from December 31, 2009 to January 31, 2010 of the Non-SDO IT Board member listed above. Please respond no later then Monday, November 30, 2009. PROCEDURES: Section 5.3 (HITSP Board Responsibilities) of the HITSP Charter (HITSP 06 N 48) provides details about the responsibilities of the HITSP Board. **** Only HITSP members within the Non-SDO IT organization (see list below) representatives may vote on this approval.
