News Release Incident: Threats

On Tuesday, November 25, 2014, the Egg Harbor Township Police Department responded to the Wonder Years Day Care Center on Ocean Heights Avenue, in the Scullville section of the township, in reference to a threat received over the phone. Officers Gary Johnson, James Donaldson Michael Palmentieri, Ken Marchelle, James Naylor, Ben Kollman, Michael O’Hagan, Jonathan Nieves and Tim Canale responded and made contact with management. Management stated she received a call in which the suspect threatened to harm the children at the school. Investigation led officers to an address in Pleasantville. The suspect was taken into custody at his residence with the assistance of the Pleasantville Police Department. The suspect had not been at the Day Care Center and the children were never in danger.
Arrested was Matthew Poole, 31 years of age from Pleasantville, who was charged with Terroristic Threats and Causing a False Public Alarm. Bail was set by Municipal Court Judge H.R. Switzer at $75,000 full and Poole was lodged in the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
